Organized protests against the appearance of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the U.N. began even before he arrived in New York City. A group of about 40 elected officials and civic leaders gathered Sunday outside Columbia University, where Ahmadinejad is scheduled to speak on Monday. Some carried placards with slogans such as "Don't give a platform to hate," and "Go to hell," while denouncing Ahmadinejad as a "Hitler wannabe" and a Holocaust denier. Said New York state Assemblyman Dov Hikind: "There is no excuse to invite this madman, this little Hitler. "This is immoral. This is outrageous. This is sick....

Iran, which has often proclaimed its intent to carry out a second Holocaust, this time against the Jews concentrated in Israel, will be holding a Holocaust-denial conference on December 11-12. A certain illogic is evident: if you yourself find Jews so loathsome that you seek to exterminate them, why is it implausible that someone else should have had the same idea and acted on it, especially when so many people including all reputable historians say that is exactly what happened just six decades ago? The illogic is compounded by the fact that just last August Teheran held an international Holocaust-cartoon...

Iranian leaders today brushed off the threat of sanctions or military attack over their controversial nuclear drive, insisting the West was powerless to halt the Islamic republic. The tough rhetoric came after the regime dismissed appeals from UN's atomic watchdog chief Mohamed Elbaradei to freeze its uranium enrichment programme and calm suspicions it is seeking the bomb. "Today, thank god, the Iranian nation is a powerful one and we are going to have a dialogue with the world from a position of power," Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the northeast of the country. "Everything we have is from...

Brit Tzedek v’Shalom (Covenant of Justice and Peace: hereafter BTvS), a Jewish “peace and justice for Palestinians” group (www.btvshalom.org) published the names of 387 Rabbis who have signed a petition demanding that our government not withhold aid to the Hamas-controlled government of the Palestinian Authority. This petition is BTvS’s response to the Ros-Lehtinen/Lantos Bill, HR4681, which would deny U.S. funds to the PA unless Hamas relents on its commitment to the destruction of Israel and the extermination of the Jewish people. These rabbis have to be familiar with the Hamas covenant, which spells out Hamas’s messianic commitment to the end-of-days...

Two Palestinians were caught on Sunday night at the Beit Iba checkpoint, west of Nablus, carrying a 20-kilogram explosive device. The device was hidden in a jug, inside one of the men's bag. Sappers on the scene detonated the device, and the suspects were taken for interrogation. IDF sources said the device was meant for an attack in Israel.

Hamas has revealed the names of the leading members of its secretive military wing for the first time, in a new challenge to the Palestinian Authority which is under growing pressure from the international community to disarm militants after Israel's Gaza pullout. Hamas and the government of Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas are also locked in intense competition over who will be credited with the pullout, to be completed within two weeks. Hamas insists its suicide bombings and shootings have driven Israel out, while Abbas says his policy of negotiations has led to the withdrawal. The military wing of Hamas, Izzedine...

As the sun was setting upon Britain after a day that saw some 50 dead and 700-plus wounded from a terrorist attack, those all-too familiar voices of liberal dissidence welled up to be heard. California Congresswoman Jane Harman, (D) who is the ranking member on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, released a statement during the aftermath of the London terrorist attacks. Harman, who also sits on the House Select Committee on Homeland Security, said of the attacks: “The attacks in London today are deplorable and demonstrate that we continue to live in an era of terror. My thoughts...
