The nation’s top public health agency did not send an alert on COVID-19 vaccines and heart inflammation because officials were concerned they would cause panic, according to an email obtained by The Epoch Times. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 2021 drafted an alert for heart inflammation, or myocarditis, and the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. Officials prepared to release it to the public, taking steps including having the agency’s director review the language, internal documents show. “The pros and cons of an official HAN are what the main discussion are right now,” Dr. Sara Oliver,...

In short, March 14, 1891 there were several Italians on trial. They were found "not guilty" which sent a mob of thousands in a frenzy (along with government). In the end, 11 Italians were lynched and numerous others treated harshly. As a consolation to this tragedy, our government gave them a day---Columbus day. A mob of tens of thousands of angry men surrounded a New Orleans jail, shouting angry slurs and calling for blood. By the time they were done, 11 men would be dead—shot and mutilated in an act of brutal mob violence that took place in front of...

Matt Hancock suggested to an aide that they "frighten the pants off everyone", messages published by the Sunday Telegraph show. It appears the former health secretary discussed when to reveal the existence of the Kent variant of Covid, to ensure people comply with lockdown rules. In another exchange, the head of the Civil Service, Simon Case, suggested the "fear/guilt factor" was vital to the government's messaging. The BBC has not verified the messages. More than 100,000 WhatsApp messages were leaked to the Telegraph by the journalist Isabel Oakeshott, who has been a vocal critic of lockdowns. The former health secretary...

The theme of foreign intervention in American elections just got bigger after Judy Woodruff recently tweeted that "James Clapper ... personally concluded Russians not only influenced but DECIDED outcome of 2016 election." The statement comes from Clapper's forthcoming book, portions of which have been read aloud on TV. Less than eighty thousand votes in three key states swung the election ... buying advertisements on Facebook promoting Clinton's support of the Black Lives Matter movement and ensuring those ads ran only on the pages of white conservative voters in swing states... they created lies that helped Trump and hurt Clinton and...

EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso police are investigating two mysterious billboards that appeared just off I-10, each with a mannequin hanging from a noose. . “It’s not an advertisement,” said Mike Mons, regional manager for Lamar Outdoor advertising. Remember the enemedia's depiction of this jihadist as a "moderate"? I warned readers immediately about the cleric in charge of a nuclear arsenal. Hasan Rowhani is a disciple of the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the vicious tyrant of Tehran. He was a senior national security advisor to Khomeini during the brutal war with Iraq that left a million people dead. He served as a top national security advisor to the regime in the 1990s, as well. Iran under Rowhani is a slaughterhouse. And where is the enemedia on this story -- the media that told us what a wonderful moderate he...

Gaza needs to bring back public hangings, senior court official Khaled el-Batash argued this week in an interview with the local media outlet Filistine. Batash said courts should have their own police, who would implement court rulings by publicly executing condemned criminals. Public executions would serve to deter Gaza residents from serious crime, he argued. Hamas has instituted the death penalty for several crimes, among them murder, rape, drug dealing, and “collaborating” with Israel, a charge applied to those who provide information on terrorist activity that is used to assassinate terrorists or otherwise thwart attacks.

The use of the death penalty to implement the Sharia, Islamic law, continues to increase year by year: in 2010 there were at least 714 executions, against 658 in 2009 and around 585 in the previous year, in 13 countries with a Muslim majority, many of which ordered by religious tribunals. ... The Sharia has been applied through hanging, decapitation and execution by firing squad. In Iran, Nigeria and Pakistan people have been sentenced to death by stoning, but there are no reports of actual executions by this method, though stoning is used without regular trials in Somalia, Afghanistan and...

Early morning in Tehran, and two mobile cranes are being manoeuvred into place. They are to act as temporary gallows for a public execution. Already the crowd are out in force, some of them in a remarkably cheery mood. A few are getting ready to photograph the scene on their mobile phones. There are even one or two young children around. Amid this strangely everyday scene, the black-masked hangmen begin their work. They attach nooses to the cranes, check they are secure. As the sentence is read out, the two criminals are brought out. They have been convicted of bank...

Iran has just carried out the largest wave of executions since 1984. It is early dawn as seven young men are led to the gallows amid shouts of "Allah Akbar" (Allah is the greatest) from a crowd of bearded men as a handful of women, all in hijab, ululate to a high pitch. A few minutes later, the seven are hanged as a mullah shouts: "Alhamd li-Allah" (Praise be to Allah). TEHRAN'S hardline Islamic regime is preparing to publicly hang 11 Iranian Arabs convicted of "enmity with God" for their alleged involvement in a bombing campaign in which over 20 were killed last year, after what rights activists say were summary, secret trials. The executions are due to take place by Monday, according to Iranian media reports. The intention apparently is to disperse the hangings in several cities with largely Arab populations in order to spread fear, activists say. Campaigners insist the men are innocent and paying the price for merely hailing from the disadvantaged Arab minority. Their heavily edited "confessions" were...

Here we go again, rocketing into another fun-filled, exciting defense of those calumniated 18th-century Lisbon priests. Exactly 250 years ago tomorrow, on All Saints’ Day, November 1, 1755, a tragic earthquake and tsunami struck Lisbon, Portugal, killing tens of thousands, and destroying much of the city.Back on the Trail of a Historical Fiction Catholic Exchange readers might remember that 9 months ago I wrote “Journalistic Un-integrity,” parts one and two, in response to a Washington Post article written by Jose Antonio Vargas, in which it was alleged that in the aftermath of the disaster, “priests roamed the streets, hanging those...
