Saw Palin in Richmond today (Mon 13 October 2008). Introductory speeches by Jerry Kilgore, Robb Whittman, Jim Gilmore. Other than Palin herself, the highlight was Hank Williams, Jr., singing the National Anthem and then doing a multi-verse rendition of his "Family Tradition" with new campaign lyrics extoling the virtues of John McCain and Sarah Palin. Believe H.W. Jr. was also in Virginia Beach with McCain and Palin in the morning. Big crowd in Richmond VA, out in the grass in a makeshift outdoor theater on the grounds of Richmond International Raceway. Hope video makes it online. Mike B.
  • Hank resumes his reign on Fox’s ‘King of the Hill’

“I’ll have a normal orange juice, please,” says Hank Hill. “And make it normal.” He wishes! Hank, plaintive hero of Fox’s comedy “King of the Hill,” is joining someone at a dang ol’ prissy juice bar. Not by his choice. This is not Hank’s kind of place. Nor are these his kind of times. Never were. After a decade on the air, “King of the Hill” finds Hank pretty much where he was in January 1997: a Texas good ol’ boy in a world bent on serving up things that, in his mind, just aren’t normal. Hank’s a regular guy...

APN) ATLANTA -- US Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) is pursuing numerous legal avenues to challenge the so-called “results” of not only her recent Primary and Runoff Elections, but also the fundamental reality that the current E-voting system in Georgia does not provide us with “results” that are in any way meaningful. The Congresswoman and her attorneys and campaign are looking at ways in which they can either join or support Donzella James’s legal election contest filed last week, Donzella James, who is working closely with the Congresswoman, told Atlanta Progressive News. The US Department of Justice is already said to...

I wrote last week that our InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion survey showed that controversial Democratic Rep. Cynthia McKinney would likely lose her primary runoff election against former county commissioner Hank Johnson in Georgia's 4th District. McKinney lost handily. Beyond that, her final hours before eventually conceding defeat made for the most underreported and bizarre story of a political exit I've ever seen in my years of participating in or analyzing political races around the country. I had agreed to join the anchor desk at Atlanta's NBC-TV affiliate to provide analysis for that day's elections. As the night wore on, it became clear...

"King of the Hill" (search) creator Mike Judge (search) says this season, the show's 10th, will be its last. "There is an end in sight here," Judge told the Post Wednesday. "I think 10 [seasons] is a good, round number." FOX officially says that "No decisions have been made regarding the future of 'King of the Hill.' " But whatever the show's future, its fans are, no doubt, anticipating the upcoming Sept. 18 season premiere. "The only storyline we have right now is Luanne starts going out with this guy, Lucky. Tom Petty (search) does the voice," Judge said. "He's...

I'll be brief. The greatest King of the Hill quote of all time: PEGGY: Oh, give me a break. I don't see how having a girl on the team would ruin it. Did a woman judge ruin the Supreme Court? HANK: Yes, and that woman's name was Earl Warren.

A London accountant has described how Pakistan's disgraced nuclear hero Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan visited the West African state of Mali on three occasions between 1998 and 2000. Abdul Ma'bood Siddiqui accompanied A.Q. Khan on three mystery trips  between 1998 and 2000. Their final destination was Timbuktu, a remote outpost in the desert that has always been a magnet for explorers and adventurers from around the world. The mystery behind the visits has deepened following recent revelations that Khan is also the owner of a small hotel in the town that he has named after Hendrina, his Dutch-born wife and...
