• The United States and the U.S. Constitution

    09/25/2012 2:18:22 PM PDT · by Brett L. Baker · 9 replies
The Constitution of the United States is much more than just a piece of paper; it is a document written by God fearing men who believed in Liberty and Justice for all who are citizens of this great nation and their Posterity. While the U.S. Constitution is a guide for ourselves and for those who represent us, the U.S. Constitution is much more; it is the “law of the land” and should be viewed as such, as well as considered whenever any of the three branches of government, i.e., Legislative, Executive, or Judicial, enact new laws or perform the duties...

On a beautiful September Sunday afternoon, not far from the scene of the infamous Islamic jihad attack in lower Manhattan, Democrat New York State Senator Tony Avello came face-to-face with Muslim hatred for America and he did something that few people have the courage to do. He got up from his seat as a VIP Marshall of the 27th annual New York Muslim Parade and stormed off the stage in disgust! Over one thousand Muslims in the audience and the large group of Muslim community leaders were shocked that the Senator would walk off the stage, even before it was...

Dangerous disconnects and hatred are endemic. When in college, I majored in economics and enrolled in the honors program. That required that I write a paper on an aspect of economics. My field was micro-economics, how business works, and I elected to write my paper about the automotive replacement parts industry. My faculty adviser was Arthur Okun, then also a senior economist with President Kennedy's Council of Economic advisers. He later served as the chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers between 1968 and 1969. While serving as one of President Kennedy's economic advisers, he developed "Okun's Law," to the effect...

(Associated Posers) – BALTIMORE, MD – As the global debate on free speech and condemnations from world leaders of the low-budget “Innocence of Muslims” trailer, the film has become a surprise underground cult hit across the United States. Several leading churches say they are considering putting on a Muslim Pageant to show how the false faith of Islam arose from the lust of one warlord. Even so, when youths hear that something is being condemned by government they often get interested in that thing. This has become true with the badly produced internet video. All over the web groups of...

Nobody knows how Barack Obama managed to pay for the higher education he received. Obama's decision to keep his education records a secret is considered unworthy of attention by the media. [A] syndicated column written by a Chicago Tribune columnist in 1979 provides a fascinating light on the cabal that seems to have formed around Obama. The kicker is that the column was written by Vernon Jarrett, longtime influential Chicago black leftist, close friend of Frank Marshall Davis, and father-in-law of Valerie Jarrett, the closest aide to President Obama, and a major figure in his rise within the Chicago political...

CDC data show number of accidental firearm deaths for children under age 15 has gone back up to 62, a number that it was at in 2008. The 48 accidental deaths in 2009 was unusually low. A similar pattern also held for total accidental gun deaths for all ages: 2008, 592; 2009, 554; and 2010, 606. However, over the longer term, the pattern for accidental gun deaths is similar to other accidental deaths in that is as long as we have data you see a gradual decline, though in recent years the decline in accidental firearm deaths has slowed.

Americans are often complacent over the many many lives given for our freedom. There are so many forgotten or untold stories of brave men who have made the ultimate sacrifice for liberty. This weekend we attended the annual Texas Heroes Day in LaGrange, Texas. There is a park high on a hillside, with a beautiful towering monument commemorating heroes that even most Texans have long forgotten. Here is Off Grid Blogger’s short version of the story. The Time Abraham Lincoln and a Political Rival Almost Dueled on an Island Exactly 170 years ago today, the Mississippi River levee in Alton, Illinois, was crammed full of spectators awaiting the results of a highly anticipated duel — a smackdown between Abraham Lincoln and political rival James Shields. Only one man could emerge victorious. Onlookers held their breath in suspense as they spotted a boat approaching with a blood-soaked body draped over the bow. It had all started where so many skirmishes do: the Illinois state legislature. Though at the time Lincoln was a Whig and Shields was a...

The first gathering of the Stop Islamization of Nations Congress took place on the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in the city-and nation-targeted by pan-Islamic jihadists on that clear September day. Considering the deeply-rooted religious and ideological convictions that were to serve as the fulcrum of those massacres, it was only fitting that any discussion of Islam’s predatory relationship to the inalienable rights of Americans take place on that day and in this city. However, the scope of this discussion extended well beyond the borders of America, because the ambitions of Islamic jihad go well beyond the geography of...

What happens to the presidential election if Israel attacks Iran, and/or if Syria boils over into war between Syria and Israel? Obama has signalled that he is at most cool to the idea of a pre-emptive strike on Iran before the election. Romney has indicated strong approval. Here's how I think it plays out ... how about you? If Israel concludes a successful strike and there is not very much immediate follow-up from Iran or surrogates, before election day, then I think it tends to have zero effect on the election outcome. On February 27, 1933 at about 9:25 PM a fire in Germany’s Reichstag building was detected. The Reichstag building was the assembly place for the German Parliament. After a brief “investigation” Adolph Hitler’s Nazis, who had already begun to take control of Germany, arranged the arrest of a Dutch Communist who was charged with the arson. The fire and the destruction it brought was blamed on this handy scape goat, and Herr Hitler then pointed to him and used the fire as a reason for demanding dictatorial powers over Germany. Civil liberties soon started to disappeared and mass arrests of...

The brilliance of “2016: Obama’s America” is not so much in the endless array of immutable details, it resides in the levelheaded delivery and common sense approach of Dinesh D’Souza’s premise: to psychologically and historically link the anti-American influences of Barack Obama’s past, to his political ideology of the present. An article in the most recent issue of Civil War News explains that the current V.A. has "reinterpreted existing law." This flies in the face of a policy which has been in place since 1906 and which allowed--even encouraged--the placing of appropriate headstones, without preference, for both Union and Confederate Veterans . . .

Hi all, first vanity post ever. Hopefully you will forgive me. I don’t have a blog, but wanted to put a couple things out there that I am not seeing in any articles. /tinfoil on First, does anybody at all see anything suspicious about this third rate movie coming from a Coptic Christian? Probably one of the most persecuted people in the world today. In the end we will find out this was directly from the Muslim Brotherhood. Much like they added their own cartoons in the Danish episode several years ago. It is my feeling that they approached this...
  • Lethality of the 22 LR(field tests)

I've been shooting the 22LR for many years and even bought a new bolt action 22 LR rifle (Savage Mark II BTVS) so I could train more cheaply for tactical precision rifle matches. As I started to train, I actually became impressed with what could be achieved with the 22LR in short and medium distances and wondered about the actual lethality of the round, so I decided to do some research in that area.

Last year, Mrs. Clinton was inspired by the revolution in Libya and praised the rebels for "taking back their country." This year, when US Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens' murdered corpse was desecrated in a manner reminiscent of how rebels treated the body of "we came, we saw, he died" Muammar Gaddafi,....Hillary Clinton seemed shocked and confused. Hillary Clinton, who must have been asking herself...."How can this happen" question when Bill was caught with his pants down in the Oval Office, responded to the crisis by asking "How can this happen in a country we help liberate, in a city...we...

Today we heard the sound bites of President Obama and Hillary Clinton continually use the phrase "our country's (America) values". These progressive secularists know ABSOLUTELY nothing of our American values and as a matter of fact they despise everything that our American Founding Fathers stood for! These two leading progressive secular Alinskytes are in a full blown war against our U.S. Constitution and the very absolutes and principles of Almighty God which made this country great. Our Founders were not moral relativists, haters of God, selfish, arrogant, socialists, secularists, sex addicts, murders of the innocent and haters of the Laws...

Political Correctness Run Amok This is an issue that constantly comes up in conversation lately, particularly when people express their puzzlement that Obama’s “likeability” polls so high coming into the election. “How can his policies be so bad, yet people still seem to like him so much?”, I constantly hear. Well, the question they should be asking is how such an incompetent perpetual-campaigner and golf-pro-wannabe ever got elected to that office in the first place. And as far as I’m concerned, the answer is very simple: because he’s black. Or half-black, to be exact. Let’s face it. If a white...

HOW OBAMA--AND THE MEDIA--LOST EGYPT, AND ISRAEL, TOO I have predicted how the Arab Spring would develop for several years. I have never been to Egypt, or for that matter any part of the Middle East. I am a student of human nature. Human nature is not immutable, but people who believe they can create a "new Soviet man" or and "Ubermensch" is severely deluded, and if they achieve power they can - and have - killed millions. But it's this kind of magical thinking that believes that the overthrow of Mubarak or K-Daffy would lead to a Western style...

The damage done to the United States on September 11, 2001 was horrific. Yet we are able each year to hold somber Nine-Eleven remembrances. Should the greater and more obvious threat now facing Israel not be countered, there may be no one left in Israel to hold similar remembrances.I had set out to re-blog this article entitled A View From Israel: Learning the lessons. My comments became too extensive. Hence, this article instead. Please do read the linked article. It is frightening and if widely read and considered may help to bring us to our senses. The linked article deals...

If there was a single, overarching theme to the first Stop the Islamization of Nations Congress, it was just that. Freedom. The freedom exercised by Rifqa Bary-the courageous young woman who converted to Christianity despite the wishes of her Muslim parents, and whose portrait you see emblazoned upon the poster above-as well as the freedom to engage in critical inquiry regarding any and all subjects-including Islam-are one and the same. For fundamentally, they both come down to the exercise of free will. Individual choice is something that is not highly valued in authentic Islamic culture, as the plight of the...

Disclaimer: before beginning, let us remember the families of the deceased, and keep them in our prayers. Most of us woke up this morning and saw or heard the news: US Embassy attacked. Oh, OK, this must be follow-up on Cairo, right? No. It turns out that there was an attack in Libya, as well. And in this attack, the mob did not just shout pro-bin Laden slogans and wave black flags. They attacked and burned the embassy to the ground; there were four Americans killed; and one of the dead was the consul / ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens (RIP)....

Grievously oppressed rabid rats who had sought our brotherhood and compassion were today forced to resort to a workplace disruption.CHICAGO, Ill. September 12, 2012. NEWS FLASHIn a previously unreported event this morning, hundreds of rabid rats attacked the American Ambassador to the Nation of Rabid Rats and her colleagues. The workplace disruption occurred at a Federal office building located in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Police assistance was limited because most police authorities had been diverted to the Windy City due to reports of marauding groups of Chicago public school youth who were celebrating an unanticipated holiday. Recently appointed Ambassador...
