  • Another VICTORY in Australia: Tasmania Parliament rejects "gay marriage"!

It's been a great month for the pro-family cause "down under." After the Australian Parliament rejected "gay marriage" last week, it was announced that the state Parliament of the Australian state of Tasmania would immediately be voting on it. Last month it passed Tasmania's Lower House by 13 to 11 and it was then awaiting a vote in the Upper House. Since the homosexual groups had been lobbying them heavily, and the Tasmanian Premier was passionately for it, it seemed like a lost cause. But on Thursday, after two days of debate, it was defeated in the Upper House by...

Andrew Sullivan is spitting mad at Tucker Carlson. Writing at The Daily Beast today, Sullivan vilifies the editor-in-chief of the Daily Caller as a "degenerate, disgusting, racist demagogue." Sullivan is infuriated by Carlson's Daily Caller having recently called attention to a 2007 speech, largely ignored by the MSM, by then presidential candidate Barack Obama. Addressing an audience of black ministers, Obama lavishly praised Rev. Jeremiagh Wright, blamed the LA riots and the response to Hurricane Katrina on racism and made, in the words of the Daily Caller, "repeated and all-but-explicit appeals to racial solidarity, referring to 'our' people and 'our...

Speaking at the National Press Club in late September, black pastor Bishop E. W. Jackson unapologetically said it was time for black Americans to take a stand for what is right and called for a mass exodus from the Democrat Party due to the "irreconcilable conflict" between what the Democrat Party represents and their faith in God. Regrettably, the Democrat Party has drawn a line in the sand forcing Christians of all colors to decide whether they will stand for their faith or against it if they stay in a party that blasphemes God when giving standing ovations for...

At Trinity, you’re urged to ‘get with the program,’” explained a male beneficiary of the Down Low Club. “What that means is it’s OK to go ahead and have sex with men, just as long as you ‘get with the program’ and marry a woman, somebody no straight guy would want to marry.” The wife, the Down Low Club member explained, is “your ‘beard,’ your cover – so you can look like you’re living a straight life, even thought your not.”...

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is drawing flak for its decision to instruct U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to recognize same-sex partnerships in making immigration decisions. "In an effort to make clear the definition of the phrase 'family relationships,' I have directed ICE to disseminate written guidance to the field that the interpretation of the phrase 'family relationships' includes long-term, same-sex partners," said Janet Napolitano, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security. The commitment to redefine “family relationships” to include same-sex couples came in a Sept. 27 letter to legislators who had called on the department to specifically mention homosexual...

For more than 50 years, the black community has been the wholly owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party. That may be changing. In spite of the overwhelmingly liberal voting patterns of black voters, they are an essentially conservative community. Americans of African descent are more pro-life and pro-family than the average white voter and as conservative on social issues as any white evangelical. Democrats have managed to monopolize the black vote in spite of the vast chasm between the two on social issues. This philosophical difference has become more pronounced in the past 20 years, as liberals have embraced far-left...

For starters incest is, by most civilized people, considered a vile union between two relatives. It’s not only frowned upon, but is illegal in most places. (I could totally make an Appalachia joke here, but I won’t.) Gay marriage, on the other hand, is far from vile. It’s not even in the same category of incest no matter how hard you try to put it there. (This is where the far right jumps in to object.) Yes, it may be illegal in some places at the moment, but not for long. The likelihood of incest ever becoming legal or accepted...

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said this week gay and lesbian partners will be considered as family members when immigration agents are trying to decide whether or not to try to deport someone from the U.S. The directive means illegal immigrants in gay or lesbian partnerships with American citizens could be spared deportation under the same leniency that is already often accorded to married couples. But it also raises questions about a federal law that is tied up in the courts which defines marriage at the federal level as the legal union between a man and a woman.

Earlier this year, a group of University of Notre Dame faculty and staff drafted a letter in support of the “LGBTQ community” at Notre Dame, after the University announced it would not add sexual orientation to its nondiscrimination clause despite pressure from some student groups and faculty. Now, a petition signed by 366 Notre Dame faculty, administration and staff was published yesterday in the campus newspaper as a full page ad urging the university to add sexual orientation to its nondiscrimination clause. The letter said, in part: “We value the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning members of our community...

With gay marriage on November ballots in several states, gay rights groups have been buying airtime to run ads in favor of marriage equality. But most of the ads feature heterosexual people on-screen — a choice that’s angering some in those states’ gay communities. Gay Minnesotan Alexander Zachary finds it offensive. “The only thing I can think of is they’ve hired a political strategist and they’s said straight people don’t want to see gay people on TV,” said Zachary.

Great video. It appears that Obama's best friend and roommate, Sohale Siddiqi was more than a friend. Perhaps this explains the wedding ring he wore for years before he married Michelle.

MINNEAPOLIS — In one TV ad, a husband and wife talk fondly of a lesbian couple who moved into their neighborhood. In another, a married couple speaks of wanting fair treatment for their lesbian daughter. A third features a pastor talking supportively about gay unions. Each of these ads ran recently in states with gay marriage issues on the November ballot. What’s missing? Gay people speaking for themselves. Gay activists who have worked on the marketing campaigns say that in this battle for public opinion, it’s better for gays to stay in the background.

Pastors, I'd like to propose some hypotheticals for you. Imagine a scenario in which the president of the United States used his bully pulpit to declare to the country that divorce was a good thing, beneficial to spouses and good for kids who would be saved from contentious households. Certainly some people feel that way. Or, imagine if the president of the United States told the country that monogamy was unnatural and that it was not actually our urges that needed to be overcome but our petty jealousies over sexual exclusivity. I'm certain there are people who share those sentiments....

Massachusetts will appeal a federal judge's decision to grant a convicted murderer's request for sex reassignment surgery, prison officials announced Wednesday. The state Department of Correction said that it believes the medical care Michelle Kosilek is receiving is adequate and that the court didn't address what it says are legitimate safety concerns of protecting her in prison. U.S. District Judge Mark Wolf ruled this month that the surgery is the only adequate treatment for Kosilek's gender-identity disorder, a condition Wolf said is a "serious medical need." He said denying surgery violated Kosilek's Eighth Amendment rights. It was the first time...
