pparently desperate to get spending underway on the California High-Speed Rail project, Gov. Jerry Brown has dramatically cut how much it will cost. No longer will the train cost $89 billion more than state taxpayers have to pay for it. Now it’ll be only $59 billion short. Yeah, that’s like saying you will drown in only 59 feet of water instead of the deep end – 89 feet...

Sue me. I hope every Freeper has a fantastic 2012. May we say bye bye to Obama. May Christians unite and stop quibbling over silly stuff. May all of us remain open enough to welcome young people (like me) into the ranks of conservatives. May Free Republic continue to thrive. May God provide an upcoming Reaganesque politician down the road. May civil war not happen. May your pantries be full.

The Fall of Jim Robinson’s Free Republic Website I want to report and expose a devious and vicious campaign that is currently underway on the so-called “premier” site on the Internet for conservatives, Free Republic. Ironically, the target of this campaign is fellow…conservatives, especially conservative bloggers, completely removing any justification from Free Republic for promoting this kind of action. I moonlight as a conservative blogger, though I write for Examiner, which is a news website run by the Clarity Media Group. I have been familiar with Free Republic for several years, and I had been lurking there since about 2003...

In what was apparently a phone prank that has taken place in other parts of the country, a motel guest said someone called his room and told him to smash the things inside in order to free a "midget" trapped next door. Spartanburg County, S.C., sheriff's deputies told WXII sister station WYFF that they were called to a Motel 6 on Sunday night after a guest nearly punched through to the next room with a wrench. A motel worker called deputies after she discovered the man had damaged the television, mirrors, and the wall between rooms, according to a police...

Blog Police Creeps Are George Soros Plants For at least a month now a crew of three or four screen names here on Free Republic have been used to spam post after post all across the board. They have decided that they are Free Republic's police, they think they speak for the whole board, and have been attempting to drive people off this site. But are they real FReepers? Or are they something else? It is pretty clear that they are being paid to do this by a George Soros-styled, left wing organization to spam FR, attack posters, and attempt...

What's the most embarrassing thing you could imagine doing with a can of condensed milk? How about having to ask a doctor to remove it from your rectum - because you stuck it there in a misguided stab at self-stimulation? Sounds like fiction, but it happened in real life. CBS News has the X-ray to prove it. And it's not the only shocking X-ray out there. From screwdrivers in the skull to children impaled on car antennas or with pins caught in their throats, doctors come across some pretty amazing images. This batch has been generously provided by Dr. Tim...

Dear Mr. Robinson: I've given the matter quite a bit of thought and have decided it is time to ZOT you. I was tempted when I noticed posters were allowed to insult anyone who disagreed with them; even more tempted when I saw new posters banned for asking questions, or expressing an opinion outside the mainstream - (though I must confess anyone adopting the screen name "Christ was killed by conservatives" was not going to last very long ! I'm sure he was referring to the Sanhedrin, but still...) When I saw your post today about getting "millions of people"...

Another FReeper adds to the political debate... Just now on Fox News Sunday, Tony Snow used this line to describe popular American sentiment regarding the French... "Fighting a War without the French is like going deer hunting without an accordion."This great one-liner come courtesy of our own Humblegunner. It was posted here in the thread on "Frog Bashing". Good going Humble!
