WASHINGTON (AP) — One of three college students arrested Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombings case was allowed to return to the United States from Kazakhstan in January despite not having a valid student visa, a federal law enforcement official told The Associated Press. Authorities charged the student — a friend and classmate of one of the men accused of setting off the deadly explosions — with helping after the attacks to remove a laptop and backpack from the bombing suspect's dormitory room before the FBI searched it. The government acknowledged that U.S. Customs and Border Protection was unaware that...

Two Kazakh men and a third man have been arrested by federal authorities in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings, a law enforcement official familar with the case said this morning. The two men, Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, came to America from the Central Asian nation to study at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth, where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was also enrolled. Apparently, granny will still be getting the full pat down experience at the airport instead of young Muslim men returning home from volatile, Jihad ridden regions of the world like Dagestan. Attorney General Eric Holder is warning Americans not to discriminate against Muslims in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings. Attorney General Eric Holder declared Monday that the Justice Department is on the lookout for acts of violence or discrimination that signal a backlash to the Boston Marathon bombings earlier this month in which three people were killed and scores wounded. That’s about 9,500 Americans who have lost their lives in the war on terrorism and the number goes far beyond that. There are smaller attacks too numerous to mention. One of the obvious examples is Benghazi. The total number is well over 10,000 Americans who have died due to the war on terror and the number continues to grow. The same holds true of Islam, the majority faith of 49 nations from Morocco to Indonesia, a religion that 1.6 billion people profess. Yet, some assertions appear true. Islam is growing in militancy and intolerance, evolving again into a fighting faith, and spreading not only through proselytizing, but violence. How to justify the charge of intolerance? We actually have two major welfare stories today. The first is about the Boston bombers, who, it turns out were among those immigrants we’re always chided not to notice: They were on welfare. As good Americans we’re supposed to pretend that immigrants (I’m married to a legal immigrant, by the way, so no, Grover Norquist, I’m not “anti-immigrant”) don’t come here to get on welfare. Even though millions of immigrants do come here, legally or otherwise, and then get on welfare. In the aftermath of the Boston Marathon killing spree by foreign-born jihadists, see-no-evil bureaucrats in Washington are stubbornly defending America’s lax asylum policies. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano told the Senate Tuesday that the screening process is rigorous, effective, and extensive. These people can’t handle the truth. Or tell it. The Tsarnaev brothers reportedly were granted asylum by “derivative” status through their parents. After entering on short-term tourist visas, the mother and father (an ethnic Chechen Muslim) won asylum and acquired U.S. citizenship. Next, younger son Dzhokhar obtained U.S. citizenship. We already knew that opponents of immigration reform had no good arguments in favor of preserving the status quo. Now we know they have no shame. Some of them are deliberately mixing apples and oranges and trying to use the tragedy of the Boston Marathon bombing to scuttle efforts in Washington to achieve immigration reform. One of the Chechen terrorists who carried out the Boston Marathon bombings should have been deported years ago after a criminal conviction, as called for by U.S. immigration law. Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the 26-year-old killed in a wild shootout with police, was a legal U.S. resident who nevertheless should have been removed from the country after a 2009 domestic violence conviction, according to a Judicial Watch source. That means the Obama administration’s DHS division missed an opportunity to deport Tsarnaev, but did not abide by Federal immigration law and let him stay. Tsarnaev was given this special treatment, despite not having...

Khalid Latif, a chaplain for New York University, here complains that moderate and peaceful understandings of Islam are being unfairly discounted: "As much as Muslims need to acknowledge the existence of a minority voice that is radicalized, so too does a broader society need to acknowledge the existence of a majority voice that is not radicalized and more importantly condemns radical thought." That's just great, and I am happy to accommodate him in this. It is also worth noting, however, that a few years ago, when NYU students planned to display the Danish cartoons of Muhammad at a campus event,...

The severed head of the lead Mexican investigator in the Falcon Lake case was delivered Tuesday in a suitcase to the Mexican military, Texas Rep. Aaron Pena told CNN. However, a spokesman for the attorney general of Tamaulipas state in Mexico said he had not heard the report. David Michael Hartley went missing September 30.

This is one of those obscure Middle East events of the utmost significance that is ignored by the Western mass media, especially because they happen in Arabic, not English; by Western governments, because they don't fit their policies; and by experts, because they don't mesh with their preconceptions. This explicit formulation of a revolutionary program makes it a game-changer. It should be read by every Western decisionmaker and have a direct effect on policy because this development may affect people’s lives in every Western country. OK, cnough of a build-up? Well, it isn’t exaggerated. So don’t think the next sentence...

A Butler County judge today sentenced a teenager to 28 years for raping his neighbor. A judge found Alex Ramirez guilty after the teen pleaded "no contest" to the charges against him. Ramirez was 14 years old when he broke into a Liberty Township woman's home this past January and raped the 64 year old victim. The woman said Ramirez had a gun and after the brutal sexual assault, he forced her to drive him to the ATM to withdraw cash. But they never made it to the ATM-Ramirez ended up jumping out of the victim's car and running off...

QUESTION: If Muslims don’t have to buy into Obamacare because “it offends their religion”, then why doesn’t someone start a new “religion” that ALSO prohibits buying into Obamacare? This just occurred to me today, when reading something over at Hot Air about the Michigan judge who ruled Obamacare was perfectly constitutional today (don’t worry…it’s not…and it will be struck down in the Supreme Court on a 5-4 vote in 2011). What does it take to start a legitimate, state-recognized, actual religion in this country? Because I’ve read repeatedly that the Amish and Muslims don’t have to buy into Obamacare, don’t...
  • EDITORIAL: Islamic flag over the White House--Radical Muslims want America ruled by Shariah

Islamists say the Koran is destined to rule America. In fact, the Muslim takeover of the White House is not just an unfolding action plan but a directive from Muhammad himself. In an interview Sunday on ABC's "This Week," British radical Muslim activist Anjem Choudary made clear what he and his Islamist brothers have planned for the West. "We do believe, as Muslims, the East and the West will one day be governed by the Shariah," he said. "Indeed, we believe that one day, the flag of Islam will fly over the White House." He then quoted a hadith, or...

The Muslim world does not have to fire a single shot; the Western world is capitulating to the Islamists' every demand. Three recent events show the continuing and relentless interplay among Islamists worldwide. The latest assault is playing out in Spain. La Meca, a popular "discotheque in southern Spain, has agreed to change its name and architectural design" because of pressure from Islamic extremists, who find the name of the discotheque and its design "offensive and insulting to their religion." Like the Danish cartoon uproar in 2005 when Muslims took to the streets in outrage because the newspaper Jyllands-Posten published...

The newly unveiled "official" architectural renderings of the Ground Zero Mosque, now being rebranded and sanitized as the "Park 51 Community Center" reveal a disturbing, insidious message. (Big hat tip: Pamela Geller, Atlas Shrugs) Look closely at the pattern of the facade. It is quite easy to discern the Star of David (two triangles with points up and down), the pre-eminent symbol of Judaism here: and here: But the entire facade shows these shapes dissolving, as if shattered and falling down. Kind of like a window shattered by rocks and fragmenting into pieces. New York City has the largest Jewish...

Through a combination of massive, Somali-driven voter fraud, stunning Election Board incompetence, and the willful blindness of the Kansas City Star, machine Democrat J.J. Rizzo managed to beat conservative Democrat Will Royster by one vote in a Missouri State House primary on August 3. There is no Republican running in this heavily Democratic, multi-ethnic Kansas City district. The Democratic nominee will face only a seriously outgunned Libertarian in the November election, and truth be told, Royster may be to the right of the Libertarian. What the Democratic machine and the Star, which endorsed Rizzo, did not count on was for...

The Senate's top Republican on foreign policy said this weekend that drug traffickers operating on the Mexican border pose a more immediate national security threat than domestic terrorists. Sen. Richard Lugar (Ind.), senior Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, is calling on the White House to intensify efforts to help Mexico fight drug lords at the border, where escalating violence has killed tens of thousands of people in the past few years. "Transnational drug trafficking organizations operating from Mexico represent the most immediate national security threat faced by the United States in the Western Hemisphere," Lugar said in remarks...

Extremists in the city and the countryside are spreading hate against America and the West. The state of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia in particular), the home of the Liberty Bell, is attracting Islamists peddling a softer, slicker form of jihad. These Islamists are careful not to raise alarm lest they jeopardize their long-term goals. It’s not clear what is attracting the groups, but staying true to the Keystone State nickname, Pennsylvania is becoming a common congregating point for Islamists. An article I recently wrote, “Muslim Enclaves U.S.A.,” went viral and brought enormous reaction. One of the stories contained in the piece was about...
