Cranky CNN commentator Jack Cafferty lit into Republican superstars Sarah Palin (R-FNC), Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX), and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) on Wednesday’s The Situation Room, comparing them to The Three Stooges (sans Shemp), calling Perry’s instant burial of Mitt Romney in the polls “a little scary,” and asking, “When it comes to presidential politics, why does America seem to be allergic to brains?” Tell us how you really feel, Jack. Since becoming a national media figure, Jack Cafferty has become known for this kind of Howard Beale-meets-Abe Simpson venting, and last night’s rant was vintage Cafferty. He blasted Bachmann’s...

It's no secret that CNN's Jack Cafferty possesses a deep-seated loathing of Sarah Palin, and now that she may run for the Republican presidential ticket the grumpy CNN contributor has one more thing to grumble over. "Palin recently said she plans to decide about 2012 in late August or September. God help us," Cafferty bemoaned Wednesday on The Situation Room. He fretted that the entry of Palin or Donald Trump into the Republican presidential race "would tend to fit nicely with the political insanity we've been watching the last couple of weeks." (VIDEO AT LINK) Cafferty found reason to cheer...

Jack Cafferty's Palin Derangement Syndrome reached a new level on Thursday's Situation Room on CNN, as he attacked the Republican for her reply to those who tried to tie her to the Arizona shootings: "It was just awful, defiant, [and] inflammatory." Cafferty also ripped Palin for using the "blood libel" phrase and stated that the reply would "effectively end her chance of ever being elected president." The commentator devoted his 5 pm Eastern hour Cafferty File segment to his rant against his perennial nemesis: "Sarah Palin may have done herself in this time. The tragedy in Tucson presented an opportunity...

CNN’s Jack Cafferty isn’t pulling any punches in showing his audience what he really thinks about House Democrats for their refusal to pass a federal budget.

On Tuesday's Situation Room, CNN's Jack Cafferty used the term "Obama-nation," a pun on the word "abomination," which is used on many conservative blogs, to slam the "sprawling bureaucratic giant...that seems to be the result of President Obama's new health care law." Cafferty admitted during his commentary that ObamaCare is "shaping up to be exactly what the critics were afraid it would be." The CNN commentator devoted his regular Cafferty File segment 12 minutes into the 6 pm Eastern hour to the recent report from the Congressional Research Service that, as Cafferty put it, "says it's 'impossible' to estimate the...

Here is video of CNN's Jack Cafferty hammering Sen. John McCain for his move to the Right during his tough primary battle against J.D. Hayworth. Cafferty points out how McCain has become noticeably more conservative in recent weeks, and asks the question, "Will the real John McCain please stand up?"

Here is video of CNN's Jack Cafferty commenting on news that President Obama is already gearing up for his 2012 Reelection Campaign. Cafferty said he doubts things will turn out in 2012 the way they did in 2008. Cafferty said if the jobs numbers don't improve, Obama "may want to see if that Community Organizer job is still open."

Here is video of CNN's Jack Cafferty saying he hopes Hillary Clinton will decide to challenge President Obama in 2012 for Democrat Nomination. Cafferty made the statement at the end of an opinion piece in which he talked about Obama's declining poll numbers, and how it would be a great thing for journalists to see the two square off once again. Cafferty indicated he does not mean he supports Clinton or Obama, but would love to see the two battle it out once again. Somehow, I doubt the White House is hoping to see a rematch. . . . (VIDEO)

CNN's Jack Cafferty, referring to a recent CBS News story about last month's Copenhagen Climate Summit, had some choice words for Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the Congressmen and Congresswomen who accompanied her. In addition to Cafferty's referring to Pelosi as a "horrible woman", Cafferty said...(VIDEO)

Here is video of CNN's Jack Cafferty calling Nancy Pelosi a "horrible woman." (Video)Cafferty said while "this nation is hurting" Nancy Pelosi is using "three military jets for a December trip to Copenhagen, and then refuses to answer any questions about it." Cafferty then added "what a horrible woman she is" and Wolf Blitzer asked "Jack are you gonna tell us how you really feel about Nancy Pelosi?" Cafferty responded "I just did, she's a horrible woman."

CNN'S Jack Cafferty ripped into President Obama on Wednesday’s Situation Room, Quoting President Obama's promise to hold open negotiations on C-Span, in contrast with the secret negotiations being conducted to reconcile the House and Senate versions of health care “reform” legislation, Cafferty chided...

Jack Cafferty is a relic at CNN. Cynical and always willing to complain, Cafferty was frequently eager to criticize President Bush during his years in office. Barack Obama was different... Cafferty's stone heart appeared to pump again and the Senator-turned-President engendered a more positive attitude. That appears to be changing slightly. It's not that I really take Cafferty that seriously (and neither should you) but it appears that his return to morose cynicism marks the first major defeat of the Obama Administration with the health care debacle.

Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock star, HuffPost blogger and rumored Senate candidate, took a swipe at Jack Cafferty over comments he made yesterday on CNN. In talking about actors running for office, Cafferty described Baldwin's credentials as "questionable," but noted that Al Franken is Harvard-educated. That prompted Baldwin to ask: "So Franken fits the mold for Cafferty because he went to Harvard? I would like to make a deal with Cafferty. Jack, you don't tell people that a career in the performing arts disqualifies them from seeking elected office, and I won't say publicly that your being convicted of leaving the...

I hate to admit it, but I grew up watching Jack Cafferty on local TV news. Even then Jack had this pretentious air about him. His attitude was always "the viewer is an idiot." I don't watch him on CNN, which proves that I have gotten much smarter over the years. Jack always tries to act the "hard nosed reporter," but he is beginning to lose his edge, probably because he is suffering from dementia. Today he had an episode of dementia on-air, during the situation room with Wolf Blitzer there was a discussion of the Iranian election. All of...

On Friday’s The Situation Room on CNN, Jack Cafferty used his regular "Cafferty File" segment to attack Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives, citing Colin Powell’s recent words criticizing Limbaugh’s role in speaking for Republicans. After he quoted Powell’s remarks, Cafferty clarified that Powell was "talking about that gasbag Limbaugh," and posed the question for viewers: "Should Republicans stop listening to Rush Limbaugh?" Later in the program, all the viewer emails he read were harshly critical of Limbaugh, with one even comparing him and Sean Hannity to the Ku Klux Klan. Cafferty, reading email: "Connie in Chicago: ‘Yes! Limbaugh is a...

Regular CNN commentator Jack Cafferty may be "on the mend" after a three-week break for a "unanticipated encounter with a surgeon’s scalpel," as he put it, but he certainly hasn’t recovered from his Palin Derangement Syndrome. He launched a new attack on the Alaska governor on Wednesday’s Situation Room. This time, Cafferty returned to the issue of Trooper/Taser-gate and brought up two additional issues that came up this week -- how the RNC spent $150,000 on Palin for new clothing, make-up, and hair care for Palin, and how she used taxpayer’s money to pay for her children to travel with...

CNN commentator Jack Cafferty, true to his form over the past several weeks, launched another attack on Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin on Tuesday’s The Situation Room. During his regular "Cafferty File" segment during the 4 pm Eastern hour of the CNN program,he played a clip from the latest interview the Alaska governor did with CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric, in which she partially answered her critics’ questioning of her readiness to be vice president by repeating the list of offices that she has held over the years. After she concluded with her past position of Alaska oil and...

On Friday's Situation Room, CNN's Jack Cafferty asked, "Is Sarah Palin's 15 minutes of fame over?" As you can see, Jack seems very anxious for Palin to become a has been of little consequence in this election: Funny how a stock market crash, the failure of a few big investment banks will distract Americans from the flavor of the day. There doesn't seem to be the burning interest in who makes Sarah Palin's glasses that there was a few days ago. Former White House advisor and Republican strategist Karl Rove told the Associated Press this week that the Palin phenomenon...

... David Gergen told about 600 guests attending a dinner at the University of Oklahoma on Wednesday that John McCain and Barack Obama are locked in a virtual tie and the Republicans could pull off an upset. "Race has, and is, the big gorilla in the room that you can't get around," Gergen said. "We have made a lot of progress but we're not there yet. It gives alot of unpredictability to what we do." ...

Imagine it's a few days before the Dem convention. In a big—BIG—surprise, Barack Obama names Rhode Island congressman Patrick Kennedy his vice-presidential running mate. You're a partisan Republican. Do you?: * a. demand that Obama drop Kennedy from the ticket; or * b. sit back and enjoy the, uh, ride. I'm guessing the great majority of red-blooded Republicans would answer 'b.' Why wouldn't you want a weak link on the opposing ticket? So what kind of scare has Sarah Palin has put into the MSM that various of its members, like Jack Cafferty, are floating the notion that McCain should...

In an effort to run down Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska, a snarling Jack Cafferty managed to insult the entire state of Alaska on CNN's Situation Room: "Sara Palin is in her first term as governor of Alaska, that's a state that has 13 people and some caribou." This was one small part of an acid-laced harangue by Cafferty on the subject of Sarah Palin, (emphasis mine): All we have heard from John McCain is, "Barack Obama is too young. Barack Obama is too inexperienced, he can't be the commander-in-chief. Who do you want answering the phone in the White...

John McCain is whining about the media — again. His campaign manager, Rick Davis, wants to meet with the president of NBC News to protest the network’s coverage… saying it’s abandoning “non-partisan coverage” of the presidential race. McCain’s not happy with what NBC’s Andrea Mitchell said on “Meet the Press” yesterday, when she questioned whether McCain may have known about some of the questions at the faith forum Saturday night ahead of time. John McCain was supposed to be held in a so-called “cone of silence” during Barack Obama’s interview, which happened first. But it turns out McCain was in...

You might call Jack Cafferty the Dennis Kucinich of the media. Actually, the CNN commentator would go the Dem congressman one better. Not content with mere impeachment, Cafferty has condemned Congress for not pursuing the possible prosecution of President Bush—to whom he sneeringly refers as "King George"—for war crimes. The CNN commentator put war-crime prosecution on the table during his Cafferty File segment on this afternoon's CNN "Situation Room." View video here.

The MSM is sure to have a field day with McCain advisor Charlie Black's statement that a terror attack on U.S. soil "would be a big advantage" to the Republican candidate. McCain has been quick to dissociate himself from the remark, and surely Black would have been well-advised not to make it. Predictably, CNN's Jack Cafferty has been leading the charge against Black. In his "Cafferty File" question this afternoon, the CNN commentator called Black's remark "breathtaking in its stupidity" and asked viewers whether Black should be fired. View video here. I wonder if Cafferty's aware that in the course...

Obama campaign sent out this segment in which Jeff Toobin, Jack Cafferty, and Gloria Gorger all defended Obama... But as the pundits go into high dudgeon on behalf of regular Aemricans, this bit from Cafferty also sort of raised the eyebrows: The people are frustrated. The people have no economic opportunity. What happens to folks like that in the Middle ESat, you ask? Well, take a look. They go to places like Al Qaeda training camps. With defenders like that...

Jack Cafferty opened his CNN "Situation Room" shtick today at 4:07 p.m. EDT by asking which was worse: "making sexual advances toward a police officer or lying to the whole world by saying you're going to resign your Senate seat and then announcing you're not going to resign?" Answer: claiming you don't want Craig to resign simply for the sheer entertainment value of televised hearings about the whole sorry situation. And that's exactly what Cafferty went on to do. JACK CAFFERTY: Idaho Senator Larry Craig is a disgrace on many levels. Five weeks ago, Larry "Wide-Stance" Craig announced his intention...

CNN’s Cafferty on Dems Rejecting Push to Impeach Bush: ‘Strange’ Posted by Scott Whitlock on December 11, 2006 - 17:32. Jack Cafferty, a vociferously anti-Bush CNN contributor, on Monday spoke approvingly of an impeachment bill introduced by outgoing Congresswoman, and fellow Bush hater, Cynthia McKinney. He found it "strange" that, unlike McKinney, so many Democrats are unwilling to consider impeachment. What’s strange is that Cafferty would cite McKinney as a rational source of information. This is, after all, a woman who previously wondered if President Bush knew about 9/11 before it happened, attacked a Capitol Hill police officer and whose...

CNN’s Cafferty: Arrogant Bush Should Stop Opposing Democrats Posted by Scott Whitlock on November 17, 2006 - 17:26. What’s the definition of bipartisanship? According to CNN’s Jack Cafferty, it’s completely supporting the Democratic agenda. On the Friday edition of "The Situation Room," the CNN host complained that President Bush, whose "arrogance" he decries, had the temerity to re-nominate John Bolton as UN Ambassador and still supports the terrorist surveillance program: Jack Cafferty: "After the Republicans got the stuffing knocked out of them in the midterms last week, President Bush wanted to make nice. So he had these little sit-downs with Nancy...

CNN’s Jack Cafferty, who recently called Donald Rumsfeld a war criminal, chose Election Day to accuse the President of going to war in Iraq for oil and condoning torture. He also wondered if George Bush was "elected at all." A transcript of the November 7 "Cafferty File" segment is below: 4:15pm EDT Wolf Blitzer: "Jack Cafferty is here with ‘The Cafferty File.’ Jack?" Jack Cafferty: "Thank you, Wolf. However today’s election turns out, it’s a safe bet it’s going to be a good long while before anyone successfully pedals a neo-conservative agenda to the American electorate again. George Bush was...

CNN Gives Jack Cafferty 60 Minutes to Bash Bush and Republicans Posted by Noel Sheppard on October 20, 2006 - 16:45. You have to wonder what the bigwigs at CNN were thinking when they decided to give King Bush-basher Jack Cafferty an hour-long special – the opener of a six-part series – less than three weeks before the midterm elections. Of course, the flipside is that they knew exactly what they were doing, and got exactly what they wanted – 60 minutes of anti-Bush and anti-Republican propaganda less than three weeks before the midterm elections. Here are some of the...

Posted by Scott Whitlock on September 26, 2006 - 18:13. Jack Cafferty, the CNN host of the "Cafferty File" segment of the "Situation Room," today derided Fox News as "the F-word network." He also alluded to collusion in regards to an interview Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice gave "The New York Post" editorial board. After being introduced by host Wolf Blitzer on September 26 at 4:11PM EDT, this exchange occurred: Cafferty: "How you doing, Wolf? You mentioned Condoleezza Rice met with the editorial board of 'The New York Post' today, right?"Blitzer: "Right."Cafferty: "Yeah, ‘The New York Post’ is owned by Rupert Murdoch,...

Maybe it could be called “The Conspiracy Hour with Jack Cafferty.” On the September 2 “In the Money,” the program’s host recycled his theory that gas prices are dropping because of scheming oil companies. “You know, if you were a real cynic, you could also wonder if the oil companies might not be pulling the price of gas down to help the Republicans get re-elected in the midterm elections a couple of months away,” Cafferty suggested just a few days earlier on the August 30 “Situation Room.” “In the Money” contributor Jennifer Westhoven reminded Cafferty of his August 30 comments...

The latter seems to be the strategy for CNN’s Jack Cafferty. Shortly before 5pm EDT on the June 22 The Situation Room, Cafferty made this remark to substitute host John King after reading viewer responses to his question of the hour: John King, substitute host: "Jack, I’m glad they always tell you exactly what they’re thinking." Cafferty: "And, and they’re pretty smart, too." King: "Yes they are, yes they are. Thank you very much–" Cafferty: "The dumb ones watch Fox." King [laughing]: "Ouch! Ouch, ouch, that’s going to bring some more e-mail."

Jack Cafferty, CNN's resident curmudgeon, is drawing some flak for his rhetorical bombshells. In a typical rant, Cafferty, a New York local anchor for two decades who now delivers his short bursts on "The Situation Room," said of the Bush administration: "Who cares if the Patriot Act gets renewed? Want to abuse our civil liberties -- just do it! Who cares about the Geneva conventions? Want to torture prisoners -- just do it! Who cares about rules concerning the identity of CIA agents? Want to reveal the name of a covert operative -- just do it!" Before any legal charges...

New York -- For days, the White House news corps has pounded the Bush administration, demanding to learn more about Vice President Dick Cheney's accidental shooting of a hunting companion Saturday.

NEW YORK -- CNN anchor Jack Cafferty will pay a $250 fine and perform 70 hours of community service after pleading guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, prosecutors said Tuesday. Cafferty had been charged with the traffic infraction, along with misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, assault and harassment, after police said he knocked a man off a bike with his Cadillac on May 14. A traffic officer and about five pedestrians ran after Cafferty's car to stop him after the accident, but Cafferty drove through at least two red lights and around other vehicles without stopping, according to...
