Republican presidential candidate John McCain said Wednesday the Senate should apologize for slavery and segregation, calling them “dark chapters in our history.” McCain said he would support a planned resolution by fellow Republican Sen. <p>It would appear that the conservative spirit in America is dying. Is that good? Yes, indeed it is. The conservatives have done nothing good in their history. They fought to maintain slavery by giving the excuse of states' rights, they fought segregation on the basis of state's rights, and they still fight today.</p>
