O'Reilly Responds on Air to Jim Robinson and Michelle Malkin

(Note: this report is a paraphrase based on memory, not tape. Any inaccuracies will be corrected down thread by me or other FReepers.)Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly responded on The Factor tonight to criticisms of his attacks last night on Free Republic and Hot Air by the sites' respective founders, Jim Robinson and Michelle Malkin. The segment last night was on reaction by right and left wing websites on the Judge Sotomayor nomination to the Supreme Court. Free Republic was singled out for an obnoxious comment about Sotomayor being diabetic. Hot Air was singled out for an impolitic strongly...

Re: Your on-air bashing of Free Republic So, you think that because one poster on FR comments that a diabetic supreme court nominee might not live to a ripe old age that all 350,000 of us are insensitive right-wing loons? Got news for you pal. The owner of Free Republic (namely me) is diabetic and I've already lost one leg due to this despicable disease and the other leg looks like it's ready to fall off any day now. My sister died of complications brought on by juvenile diabetes at the tender age 43. I've out-lived her in years, but...

Flashback: FReepers Storm Senator Benedict Arlen Specter's DC Office

I went to visit Sen. Arlen Specter to save him from an embarrassing pro-stimulus vote that will damage America's economy and send the nation back to 1970s-style stagflation. Jim Robinson, founder of FreeRepublic.com, and I arrived at Sen. Specter's office with a group of folks who oppose the $1.5 trillion stimulus package, on this past Monday morning. We asked to see Sen. Specter. The office secretary didn't seem to be happy to see us. I could not blame her. We were there to embarrass her boss. Jim, wearing his Navy cap, asked about the senator's whereabouts, but the secretary wasn't...

Coulter: "Just some guy out in California" *VIDEO*

Today on the Glenn Beck show on Fox News, Ann Coulter mentioned the difference between Conservatives and Liberals and who funds and represents them. Of course the liberals are funded by billionaire Marxists like George Soros. She mentioned that the Conservative Movement "bubbles" up from grass roots, like someone from a Lawyer family who goes on radio and is fired over and over again, and Free Republic, started by "Just some guy from out in California," a reference to Jim Robinson and this site, the Premire Conservative Website on the www.

Pioneer Behind Grass-Roots Conservative Web Site Gets Ready to Do Battle Again (Free Republic)

A Democrat is poised to take the reins of power in Washington, D.C., and Fresno resident Jim Robinson is feeling a sense of deja vu. It was President Bill Clinton's 1992 election that sparked Robinson's political activism, driving him to create a Web site that made him a grass-roots leader among conservatives before Clinton's term was over. This year, as Barack Obama prepares to sweep into office on another tide of Democratic votes, Robinson and denizens of that Web site, freerepublic.com, are preparing to do battle again. "We'll double and redouble our efforts to fight for what is right," Robinson...

Why I'm reversing course on John McCain

Governor Sarah Palin! Or, actually, what she signifies. We've often stated on FR that if the Republicans would only run true conservatives then we'd win more elections. We'd keep the White House, build conservative majorities in congress, replace liberal activist judges with original intent constitutionalists, and eventually overturn Roe v Wade and begin rolling back some of the damage inflicted upon our beloved republic by the socialists and liberals. John McCain's bold choice of the unabashed pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-liberty, small government, strong defense, fiscal conservative, Sarah Palin, signifies a return to conservatism within the Republican Party. And the...

The infection on Jim's right ankle flared up again about three weeks ago. They tried treating it with antibiotics but they had no effect. When Jim went in on Wednesday for followup visit and possibly a new prescription, they admitted him for tests and intravenous antibiotics. He was told that he would be there until at least Monday. They are not anticipating more surgery at this time.

Jim Robinson has created and maintains a huge treasure trove of news and information here at FreeRepublic.com. He gladly shares it with us Freepers and the rest of the world (a.k.a. - lurkers). And thanks to Jim and staff, FreeRepublic has a fantastic search engine (far surpassing Google), IMHO, due to the plethora of relevant news and information from around the world posted by us Freepers. For lack of a better description, I would classify FreeRepublic as a huge historical news and information database thanks to all of the postings and comments of Freepers (and a few disrupters - ZOT!!)....

About me: Lurker - since 1998 Member - since 1999 In self-imposed exile - since April 2007 The tone of the debate and the attacks on long-time fellow Freepers for the cardinal sin of daring to support Rudy Giuliani in early 2007 around here have really saddened me. Instead of fighting the enemy FR is now imposing an 'ideological purity' test on FR members.
