Convicted murderer Jodi Arias is required to pay the family of the man she killed in 2008 roughly $30,000 in restitution charges, a Phoenix judge ruled Monday. The family of Travis Alexander, who Arias, 34, was convicted of shooting and then stabbing almost 30 times, had petitioned for approximately $100,000 in order to reimburse their travel and lodging expenses during her lengthy trial hearings. But Judge Sherry Stephens ordered the smaller payment because the family didn’t provide all of the receipts for their costs, according to Arias’ attorney, Jennifer Willmott. The family may not end up getting the funds back...

High-profile murderers often attract a fringe element that is, in the face of all evidence, convinced of the accused's innocence. Jodi Arias is no exception. Except, one of her fans is a rapper. Thirty-four-year-old Kareem Williams, a.k.a. Lefty, is a fanatical supporter of Jodi Arias, who was convicted of the murder of her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander, in 2013 and sentenced to life in prison earlier this year. Williams has recorded a song expressing sympathy for the woman, who a jury found to have slit the throat of victim Travis Alexander and stabbed almost 30 times. Like many other supporters, he...

A judge sentenced convicted murderer Jodi Arias to life in prison without the possibility of parole Monday, for the murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander. The decision by Judge Sherry Stephens was largely a formality after a jury deadlocked last month on whether to give Arias the death penalty or life in prison. The mistrial removed the death penalty as an option. The only decision left was whether the judge would allow the 34-year-old Arias to be eligible for release after 25 years. She declined to do that, meaning Arias will spend the rest of her life in prison.

Jodi Arias is claiming she has Hepatitis C, blaming it on Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, according to TMZ. Arias believes that a Tuberculosis shot she received was infected with Hepatitis C. Additionally, TMZ reports that Arias is saying her breast implant leaked and caused a fungal growth, but that she was denied medical help. Arias reportedly believes that Sheriff Arpaio gave commentator and journalist Nancy Grace sexual letters between her and Travis Alexander's cousin. She believes that they have created a conspiracy against her. Arias has reportedly filed for restraining orders against Sheriff Arpaio and Grace.

PHOENIX (Reuters) - An Arizona judge on Monday set a September court date to try again to determine whether convicted murderer Jodi Arias will be put to death for killing her ex-boyfriend nearly six years ago, court officials said. Arias was convicted by a jury in May 2013 of murdering Travis Alexander, whose body was found slumped in the shower of his suburban Phoenix home in June 2008. He had been stabbed multiple times, shot in the face and had his throat slashed. But the jury deadlocked on whether the former California waitress should be executed or face life in...

"Jodi Arias' defense team is trying hard to keep two heavily-covered events out of the Maricopa County Superior Courtroom. Lawyers have filed two motions with the court as of Feb. 13, requesting Judge Sherry Stephens prevent the retrial jury from hearing about Jodi Arias' attempt to switch out her attorney and claims that Arias wanted to kill prosecutor Juan Martinez."

  • SNL Mocks Benghazi Hearings; Replaces Whistleblowers with Murderer Jodi Arias

Saturday's edition of Saturday Night Live mocked the House Oversight Committee's hearings last week on the Benghazi terror attacks, substituting convicted murderer Jodi Arias for the State Department whistleblowers who came forward to testify about the deaths of four American diplomats on Sep. 11, 2012. SNL cast the hearings as a "partisan witch-hunt" in which Republicans tried to sensationalize the deaths for political gain, using the week's notorious criminals--including alleged kidnapper and rapist Ariel Castro--to gain media attention. The sketch, which opened the show, acknowledged that the media had not covered the Benghazi scandal--but instead of making fun of the...
