The artist formerly known as Kanye West could face a lawsuit from the family of George Floyd for spreading the incorrect and unproven narrative that he died of a drug overdose during his wildly controversial Drink Champs podcast appearance. Civil rights attorney Lee Merritt posted on Twitter Sunday that a lawsuit against Ye is under consideration based on the disgraced artist’s “false statements about the manner of his death.”

A California fugitive was shot and killed at a West Jordan home on Friday night in an officer-involved critical incident. According to officials, a man wanted for aggravated kidnapping in California - later identified as 34-year-old Jose Martinez - was being tracked by a state agency working with the FBI. Assistant school principal Jose Martinez who recently resigned from his post was arrested and charged Friday with sexually abusing a 14-year-old student, officials announced Friday. According to authorities, Jose Martinez is accused of having "ongoing courses of manual and oral sex" with the male student between March 2010 and June 2010, inside his middle school office.
