Mormon sisters share a husband While sisters are known for their love of sharing, Mormon siblings Katie and Priscilla Churcher have chosen to share more than most in their choice of husband Travis. 15 Jul 2009 The pair live with their husband and eight children in a large house in Salt Lake City in the American state of Utah and insist they are very happy with their choice. They have three cars, a big garden, wardrobes full of stylish clothes and a mountain of toys for all their offspring. "People might think it's weird to share your husband with your...

PLease pray for my daughter, Katie, who had a stroke and was rushed by helicopter to Cleveland for surgery. She is in her forties and has two children, one still in grade school. Since we live in different states, the information has been sketchy, but we do know that the stroke was a bad one.

Katie really is a robot1 Stepford Katie is putting her hand in the fire and not even making an "ow!" face. Fire is no match for a robot. This is Miu Miu's newest ad featuring everyone's least favorite beardbot. It looks like she traded in one flame for another. Speaking of Tommy Girl, I'm pretty sure they shot this ad down in his dungeon. Of course they had to remove all the harnesses and Xenu dolls. And she's so digitally altered that even Second Life avatars look more realistic than she does.

SECOND DEGREE KATIE GETS TWO DAYS WITH PALIN. NBC GETS COLD MOOSE STEW. By DON KAPLAN Last updated: 12:53 pmSeptember 18, 2008 Posted: 2:53 amSeptember 18, 2008 *snip* Couric is slated to spend two days on the road with the Republican vice presidential candidate and presidential hopeful John McCain. The material she gathers will be aired Sept. 29 and 30 on the "CBS Evening News" and "The Early Show" - just before the Oct. 2 vice presidential debate between Palin and Democrat Joe Biden.ABC's Charlie Gibson had the first in-depth network interview with Palin last week, but his handling of...

A warrant has reportedly been issued for Katie Couric, the face of the CBS Evening News, over an unpaid tax bill in the state of New York. According to the New York Daily News, the state Department of Taxation and Finance issued the warrant for the newswoman's failure to pay an outstanding bill of $210.41 from 2003. Couric, who has suffered in the ratings basement since replacing Dan Rather as anchor at the Tiffany Network, is said to earn $15 million per year. Her spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, told the paper the warrant and previous tax bills were apparently sent to...

The problem with CBS and Katie Couric is not that the show isn't working. CBS Evening News is a mother on life support and Katie was just stillborn. She never had a chance. Ever since CBS lied about the Bush National Guard story, it has as much credibility as, well....a major news network that makes up news. Small disconnect in that strategy but overcomeable with time except for the fact that CBS, ABC, and NBC are running out of time. All three of the major networks have been losing evening news viewers for the past 10 years in a major...

Before Katie Couric's confession that "saying 'we' when referring to the United States" makes her uncomfortable fades from the news cycle, two observations: ...snip... 2) It does help explain one of Katie's sillier comments, a few years back when the space shuttle Columbia crashed. On the Today show, she saluted the fallen crew as follows: "They were an airborne United Nations - men, women, an African-American, an Indian woman, an Israeli…." No, they weren't an "airborne UN". They were an airborne America. For a start, if there was such a thing as a UN rocket, the Israeli guy wouldn't get...

NEW YORK (AP) — If some people thought traveling to Iraq and Syria was a ratings stunt for Katie Couric, it didn't work out that way. The "CBS Evening News" tied a record low with just under 5.5 million viewers last week, Nielsen Media Research said Tuesday. Last week and Memorial Day week are the two least-watched CBS evening newscasts since at least 1987, and probably far earlier. CBS said it wasn't surprising, and argued that last week's numbers were artificially deflated because of U.S. Open coverage.

The latest name to surface in the ongoing Katie Couric saga at CBS News is that of Scott Pelley, a Washington-based 60 Minutes correspondent since 2004. According to a scenario being heard in whispers at CBS News, Pelly is being positioned to possibly replace Couric at some future date, should her numbers not improve. Pelley, CBS's former chief White House correspondent, is in the process of moving with his family from the Washington area to New York, where 60 Minutes is produced. In confirming the move, a CBS spokesperson tells TVNewser: "Scott is an integral part of 60 Minutes. The...

RATHER BASHES KATIE Post staff writer June 12, 2007 -- DAN Rather has joined the growing contingent who is not watching the woman who replaced him, Katie Couric. Rather characterized the changes in his old show as "dumbing it down, tarting it up," during an appearance on MSNBC yesterday morning. "I want to make clear that I have nothing against Katie Couric at all," he told the cable network. "She's a very nice person, and I have a lot of friends at CBS News.

Katie Couric's tour of duty as anchor at CBS Evening News has been labeled an expensive, unfixable mistake. /// Is it entirely coincidental that Rosie O'Donnell is freeing herself up at the exact moment of CBS' great need? /// "She's lined up a deal for a show where she can be more overtly political (than she is on The View)."

The situation with Katie has gotten worse. The DHS caseworker is moving to terminate my daughter's rights to Katie. This comes after the visitations where all went well and the reports reflect that. Thank God our lawyer has a copy of all the reports. It seems that DHS is playing Solomon by making my daughter pick between the 8 yr.old who has developed two masses in her brain and Katie. We have faxed all the reps and sen. in both states and pray that we can get some results from that. When I get done here I will be contacting...

I only hope, dear readers, that you aren't as sick of reading about Katie Couric, the beleaguered anchor of the "CBS Evening News," as I am of writing about her. But the taint of plagiarism sweeping through CBS News was, quite possibly, the low point of Couric's seven-month tenure. That's saying a lot. Yes, here's yet one more column about the shooting star of the television-news business. I can take it if you can. Earlier this month, CBS put a video commentary on the Internet in which Couric lamented that children take less interest in using libraries than they used...

Little Katie Hubanks came into the world on March 22, 2006, much to the joy of her Mom and Dad, siblings, grandparents, and other family members. Just over a month later that joy was replaced by anger, fear, disbelief, and any other negative emotion you can name. I'll allow Katie's "Nana"'s words to express what an entire family has been dealing with for nearly a year: Kathryn was born in Claremore, OK. on March 22, 2006. She was born 5 week early. Needless to say she was small and came with the risks of certain medical conditions that could develope...

March 13, 2007 The Kaplan-Clinton Connection (AP)Rick Kaplan, the new executive producer of the "Evening News," is a longtime friend of Bill and Hillary Clinton. Newsbusters, which bills itself as "exposing and combating liberal media bias," has seized on the connection. The implication in their coverage is that Kaplan will not be able to cover Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign in a fair way. Kaplan addressed his Clinton connections with the Philadelphia Inquirer's Gail Shister. "I've got a 38-year track record," Kaplan said. "I find it astounding that this is an issue for anyone since it's never come up in my...

CBS News has become the latest network to shake up management of its evening news broadcast, bringing in a new producer to try to turn around disappointing ratings, according to a published report. The New York Times reports that Rick Kaplan, a former executive at cable news networks CNN and MSNBC, will replace Rome Hartman, the executive producer of the "Evening News with Katie Couric." The paper cited unidentified people who were informed of the pending move.

CBS News and Sports President Sean McManus says that gender bias may play a role in the disappointing ratings Katie Couric has been getting on "CBS Evening News.” "I think it is a fact there are probably people, both men and women, who are perhaps uncomfortable having a woman anchor the news,” McManus told the media industry publication Broadcasting & Cable. "The way she is scrutinized, I think sometimes unfairly, quite frankly, I think a lot of that has to do with gender.” McManus maintained that as a woman, Couric has to be concerned about "a lot of things the...

Pasadena -- Katie Couric's going to the Super Bowl. The "CBS Evening News" anchor will contribute a feature to CBS' four-hour Super Bowl pregame show on Feb. 4, the network said on Thursday. She will also anchor the evening news from Miami, the site of the big game, on the Friday before the game. There's precedent at other networks for the news anchors to be involved in sports coverage, including Brian Williams and Couric during NBC's Olympic broadcasts, said Sean McManus, president of CBS News and Sports. "It is the biggest event of the day and it makes sense for...

Katie Couric admits that her new gig as anchor of the CBS Evening News has been "a little harder than I thought it would be." "Some people out there are rooting for me to fail," Couric, 49, tells Esquire in its January issue. "You have to be unwavering in your convictions that you're doing something good, because there are a lot of circling vultures that will eat you alive." Maybe the 'CBS Evening News' anchor never had a chance NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Maybe Katie Couric never really had a chance this year to prove herself as the anchor of "The CBS Evening News." Fans, critics, bloggers, comrades and competitors had a field day throughout 2006, breathlessly complaining about everything under the sun. The fifth week was the toughest for Katie Couric, whose viewership on the "CBS Evening News" has dropped each week since her debut the day after Labor Day. Her broadcast averaged 7.04 million viewers last week, third to NBC's "Nightly News" (8.56 million) and ABC's "World News" (7.97 million), according to Nielsen Media Research. According to CBS Evening News host Katie Couric, a Monday installment of its "freeSpeech" segment, which espoused a strong conservative viewpoint, could be viewed as "repugnant." Media buyers see new CBS anchor sinking By Diego Vasquez Sep 12, 2006 Katie Couric's debut as network television's first lone woman anchor is important for a lot of reasons beyond Couric herself, and not the least is what success or failure will mean for network news. A rise to No. 1 for the longtime No. 3 "CBS Evening News" broadcast would surely bring about major changes at NBC and ABC. But a week after Couric's debut, that's probably not going to happen. On her first night, Couric shot up to No. 1 in the ratings, and while she finished...

Rush Limbaugh is scheduled to appear on tonight's edition of "The CBS Evening News with Katie Couric," delivering a 90-second commentary. Apparently this was an upsetting piece of news to millions. No, not liberals who consider Limbaugh to be the Anti-Clinton. It was the far-right crowd that was upset. According to Limbaugh himself, many of his die-hard conservative fans criticized him when they first heard via the Drudge Report that Limbaugh was going to appear during Couric's ridiculously overhyped first week. (I half-expected Couric to levitate midway through her first broadcast and then to change the weather on command, a...

Commentary: CBS should shelve the cute stuff and stick to ... the news NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - "I am very happy to be with you tonight." With those un-momentous words Tuesday night, Katie Couric, 49, was off and running as the new anchor of "The CBS Evening News." At last the hype was over and the former star of NBC's "Today" show would have an opportunity to prove herself as a serious evening-newscaster. She dropped the ball. At its worst, the show reinforced all of the worries of grizzled veteran journalists. This wasn't all Couric's fault. She was, as billed,...

I am watching an Aspen Institute Q&A session from July 5 with Katie Couric and Bob Schieffer of See B.S. News. The perky one just told the audience how important it was for young people to get the news...she described how her fourteen year old daughter got information, and in describing how people have to be "responsible" in finding out about what is happening in the world, she told the audience her 14-year old daughter watches "Sex in the City" on her computer. I've heard that show is pretty mature...should a 14-year old kid be watching "Sex in the City"?What's...

One of the most elusive figures in Hollywood since the heyday of Howard Hughes may be about to make her debut. The New York Post reported on Wednesday that Vanity Fair magazine has landed the first photos of Suri Cruise, the baby born to actor Tom Cruise and actress Katie Holmes last April 18 and who has never been seen by the public, although family friend Penelope Cruz says she is "beautiful." The Post said the pictures were taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz and will be published this fall.

Katie Couric going to CBS is bad news for Christians and conservatives. She is vehemently anti-both and pro-anything on the Left — the further Left the better. According to the Media Research Center: “Since becoming co-host of NBC’s Today in April 1991, Katie Couric has often used her perch to salute her liberal heroes (including Hillary Clinton and Jimmy Carter) or complain about ‘right-wing conservatives.’ In her years on ‘Today,’ she’s lectured Charlton Heston about the need for gun control, championed the need for campaign finance ‘reform,’ and even touted the wonders of France’s nanny state.” On the NBC “Today”...

The torch of Dan Rather has been passed at CBS, and another liberal flame-thrower is on the job. Katie Couric may seem to some as too stuffed with Perky Morning Cuteness to be attacked as an icon of the Liberal Elitist Media. But as different as her sparkly "That Girl" personality is from Dan Rather's wizened weirdness, they have one thing in common: Truth is a malleable commodity, something to be stretched and smudged like Silly Putty on the Sunday funnies if the political cause is right. One moment sticks out in remembering Couric's approach to journalism. Reporters rarely admit...

Tom Cruise and fiancée Katie Holmes have declared their love for each other in a bizarre “wedding” ceremony — on a ship. The couple exchanged rings emblazoned with triangular Scientology symbols as fellow cult members John Travolta and Kirstie Alley looked on. An insider said: “Katie wore a flowing white dress and Tom was in a black suit as they exchanged rings during the brief 30 minute ceremony. “The couple then walked across a tiny bridge — a Scientology symbol for the journey to total freedom.”

There has been plenty of speculation on the way the fabulous Katie Holmes is to give birth to her baby. The little one could come at any moment and it appears that Tom Cruise and Katie are already battling over the baby. No - they are not battling over how the baby will be born, but what happens if the pair split after the little one emerges. The rub reportedly is the baby's religion - Catholicism or Scientology? Life & Style Magazine details in this week's report that Katie is miserable and if there is a split - as that...

Emperor Nero fiddled while Rome burned, according to tales of ancient history. So did Katie Couric, sort of. She played badminton in New York while other news anchors were in Baghdad to cover the opening day of Saddam Hussein's trial. Couric was recently plucked from NBC's Today show to read the evening news on competing CBS. I wish her good luck; she's certainly going to need it. Couric's new job probably saves NBC the possibility of letting her go when her contract expires next month; 15 years is a longtime for a TV personality to stay in one place. CBS...
