New Orleans, LA (LifeNews.com) -- Two nurses accused of euthanizing patients in the wake of Hurricane Katrina have seen the charges against them dropped by the district attorney in the case. Nurses Lori Budo and Cheri Landry were arrested along with physician Anna Pou on charges that they killed four patients. All three worked at New Orleans' Memorial Medical Center at the time of the hurricane. The three were accused of killing as many as nine patients so they could relinquish their responsibility for patients and flee the hospital as conditions there deteriorated. -With Katrina evacuees arriving, city had to mobilize fast- Mayor Will Wynn stood on the loading dock of the Austin Convention Center that Saturday morning in September dressed in a sweaty polo shirt and worn Levis, nervously watching the first Capital Metro bus loaded with Hurricane Katrina evacuees rumble into the parking lot. Less than 48 hours earlier, Wynn had made a bold promise to state and federal emergency officials: Austin — like Houston, Dallas and other cities — would house as many evacuees as needed. Now, as the first wave of what would eventually be more than 5,000 people...

    1) Why Didn't Louisiana Follow it's Emergency Plan? Why isn't anyone talking about this? 2) Why hasn't anyone mentioned that a Pre-Requisite for a Federal Response BY LAW is that State Law is Executed and the Emergency Plan is Executed FIRST? 3) Why did the Governor abandon the City of New Orleans for the Safety of Baton Rouge, before the Plan was Executed? 4) Why, when the federal Government was acting in accordance with the Stafford Act, did the State of Louisiana, by its Governors acts, delay making requests when being told this storm was going to hit? 5) Why...

CARACAS, Venezuela (Reuters) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, a vocal critic of the U.S. government, on Wednesday called President Bush a "cowboy" who had failed to manage the Hurricane Katrina disaster and evacuate victims. "That government had no evacuation plan, it is incredible, the first power in the world that is so involved in Iraq ... and left its own population adrift," Chavez said in a cabinet meeting broadcast live on television. His remarks came as U.S. authorities evacuated thousands of people from New Orleans and after Bush said it would take years to recover from flooding caused by Hurricane...
