Photo -- US President Donald Trump speaks alongside Taoiseach of Ireland Enda Kenny (L) during a St. Patrick’s Day Reception in the East Room of the White House in Washington, DC, March 16, 2017. (AFP) Saint Patrick is believed to have been born somewhere in Britain. Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny caused a stir at the White House on the eve of Saint Patrick's day on Friday, pointedly telling President Donald Trump that the festival is in honor of an immigrant. Before a sea of green-clad revelers in the East Room of the White House last night, Kenny made a...

While shamrocks and smiles typically define the Irish prime minister’s traditional St. Patrick’s Day visit to the White House, with President Donald Trump the celebration could turn more serious. Taoiseach Enda Kenny has signaled that he will use the meeting — scheduled for Thursday, one day before St. Patrick’s Day — to talk about Brexit and Trump’s immigration policies. Kenny, who labeled Trump’s language “dangerous” during the campaign, has said it is important to keep the standing date, which some critics have suggested he should cancel. Speaking to The Irish Times, Kenny said, “European leaders need to be over here...

The Taoiseach has said he will consider inviting Donald Trump to visit Ireland when he meets the US president in Washington during St Patrick’s week. Speaking in Malta, where he was attending an EU summit, Mr Kenny said he would not be deterred by any controversy such an invitation might arouse. “I’ll consider that when I go to Washington. I wouldn’t be afraid of any fallout from it. I will consider the question when I get there,” he said. “I’ve had quite a deal of controversy since the president extended his invitation to the traditional St Patrick’s week engagement with...

The Associated Press is out with new polling pitting Democrat Hillary Clinton against Republican Donald Trump. Clinton beats Trump in every category among the general electorate, including on the questions of who is best to create jobs, who is better on international trade and who can "Make America Great Again," which of course is Trump's campaign slogan. First, the criteria:

They arrive now with monotonous regularity. Another day, another announcement by a New Hampshire politician of his or her endorsement of Mitt Romney for President. Former Governor John Sununu. Former Governor and U.S. Senator Judd Gregg. Senator Kelly Ayotte. Umpteen members of the New Hampshire House and Senate. Romney's the one. A businessman. A leader. The one who will create what all America wants — jobs, jobs, jobs! Overseas, seas, seas. Yet the Romney record suggests he'll be creating the jobs overseas, seas, seas, and that's what we'll be hearing from the Obama camp from here to reelection. Oh, how...

Followers of the Comedy Central Channel series “South Park” will be well familiar with this running gag. One of the animated 8-year-olds is a hapless kid named Kenny, a lower-class kid in the fictional city of South Park, CO. Kenny’s entire face is never seen as he is always shown wearing a parka with the hood tightly cinched and his words are always indecipherably muffled. As the gag goes, in most episodes of the first five seasons Kenny is killed messily. As his young friends stand over the body, one yells, “They killed Kenny!” and another responds, “You bastards!” In...

NEW YORK (AP) -- With the political relevance of "The Daily Show" and the huge DVD sales (and subsequent hiatus) of "Chappelle's Show," it's easy to forget about that other Comedy Central show, "South Park." But Matt Stone and Trey Parker's crude cartoon began its ninth season last Wednesday -- and it remains the network's most-watched program. It is also, perhaps, still the most manic thing on TV, with entire episodes created just days before they air. With a ripped-from-the-headlines approach, it's the "Law & Order" of comedy. The first episode, "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow," tackles Hurricane...

The newest episode of South Park has Kyle's brother Ike being taken away by his Canadian parents, due to a decree by the "new Canadian prime minister". The boys embark on an Oz-like journey across Canada to change the prime minister's mind. I died laughing at the ending. They must have thought the plot line up in under 24 hours.

Ok, Kenny Rogers is supposed to be deciding on whether or not to accept a trade to the 2nd place Reds but no word from him as of yet. He has 72 hours from the time the trade was accepted by the Texas Rangers. The clock is ticking and this eager Reds fan can't stand by much longer. The cards are on a roll and the Reds need help in pitching!
