Sean Ishol, of Lucerne Valley, California, was putting a load of laundry into the dryer Monday when he heard his two dogs whimpering and crouching down. After cleaning out the lint trap and adding time to the dryer, Ishol walked over to see what was perplexing his pups. His wife, Bobbi, was on the other side of the garage — where their washer and dryer is located — also inspecting the situation. As he bent down to get a closer look, Ishol saw a dark shadow and two light eyes peering out at him from behind the machines. Instantly, Ishol recognized it was a mountain lion...

CBS Local — A Florida cat has finally found his way back home after getting separated from his owner 14 years ago. The miraculous reunion was made after the long lost feline disappeared during a 2004 hurricane. Thomas Jr., also known as T2, was with his owner Perry Martin when Hurricane Jeanne hit Florida’s Treasure Coast. The pair moved in with a friend in the aftermath of the storm. “People didn’t have air conditioning, so as time went on people left their windows and screens open,” Martin said, via CBS46. “I was staying in Stuart at the time and he...

My wife adopted this beautiful little kitten this past summer. A friend of hers came to visit the other day and she told us she believed out little cat was a Russian Blue. Never heard of that animal. She is very well mannered. Waves her tail like a dog. Great companion to our Black Lab/Border Collie mix. I'm starting to call her Ruskie Blue. (Hope the FBI is not listening) Anyone else familiar with this breed?

The fed-up feline was photographed swimming through dirty floodwaters in Houston, Texas, by Getty photographer Scott Olson, and he’s giving better side-eye than most humans. It’s been shared more than 65,000 times. “All the photos I've seen of dogs and horses escaping the flooding, they look terrified. This cat just looks pissed — like he's going to write a sternly worded letter to his city councilor when he gets home,” wrote Laura Mullane, who posted...

Days of the Year ^ | 4 June 2017 | Days of the Year
Hug Your Cat Day is one of those pleasingly straightforward holidays. Quite simply, it is a day in which cat owners everywhere are encouraged to hug their cats. The more dedicated amongst them will not need this encouragement, of course, but it is always good to be reminded of our feline friends. The obvious downside to the day as that people without cats may be left out. This need not be the case, however – it should be straightforward enough to simply adapt it into “Hug Someone Else’s Cat Day”. So, whether or not you are the proud housemate of...

My little cat Kefira has been very sick for the past few days. She is losing muscle mass, developed a pot belly, and barely eats anything for the past couple of days. She spends her days just laying Sphynx like on the floor, upright like the Sphynx. She is drinking lots of water. Blood tests show normal except for an extremely elevated white count. This points to a likely lymphoma. Vet had extra blood tests done to identify any cells in blood. I am taking her back to the vet to discuss results of cell blood test. Chemotherapy is not...

El Jefe is about 7 years old and is one of only four or five jaguars that have been spotted in the U.S. in the last 20 years. He's the only...

Eat your heart out, Lassie! Masha, a long-haired tabby cat, saved the life of a baby abandoned in the streets of Russia — after she climbed into the box he was discarded in and kept him warm, health officials said. “The baby had only been outside for a few hours and thanks to Masha … he was not damaged by the experience,” a hospital spokesman told Central European News. The whiskered hero even meowed to get the attention of a passerby.
