The Arab League, as expected, on Wednesday blamed Israel for the impasse in the peace talks with the Palestinian Authority (PA), and called on the United States to keep up efforts to salvage the talks. At a meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo, the Arab League said Israel was responsible for the “serious predicament” facing the negotiations, citing its failure to release about two dozen terrorist prisoners as one of the major causes, reported the Lebanese Daily Star. “[The ministers] called on America to continue its efforts for the resumption of the negotiation track that obliges Israel to implement...

A New Jersey woman who was struck in the face with a baseball at a Little League game is suing the young catcher who threw it. Elizabeth Lloyd is seeking more than $150,000 in damages to cover medical costs from the Manchester Little League game two years ago. She's also seeking an undefined amount for pain and suffering. Lloyd was sitting at a picnic table near a fenced-in bullpen when she was hit with the ball. Catcher Matthew Migliaccio was 11 years old at the time and was warming up a pitcher. Anthony Pagano, a lawyer for the Migliaccio and...

A growing number of Israelis and foreign Jewish groups are expressing concern over the anti-Semitic flavor of some of the "Occupy Wall St." economic protests in the US. From the 13th century expulsion of Englands Jews to the 19th century Russian pogroms to the Nazi Holocaust, sour economic conditions have historically formed the backdrop of rising anti-Semitism.(snip) Israel's Yediot Ahronot newspaper called the anti-Semitic outbursts ''hard to watch,'' and an Israeli commenter said, ''It's just like pre-World War II Nazi Germany. The Arab League condemned on Sunday Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip, calling on Israel to cease military action in both the strip and Egypt immediately. The Arab League issued a statement on Sunday, imploring the United Nations to take action to end the attacks in which 15 people have died. "We issued a statement condemning the Israeli offensive on Gaza ... and Egyptian land," Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elaraby told reporters in Cairo. "The United Nations has to take procedures to stop the Israeli offensive on Gaza," he said, without giving details of the measures he was urging

Janet Chiauzzi, an East Meadow, N.Y. mom, has been arrested and charged with stalking, falsely reporting an incident, endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated harassment, allegedly because her son did not make a summer baseball travel team, "Today" reports. Chiauzzi allegedly threatened the Little League official she deemed responsible, sending letters to his kids' school that accused him of physical and verbal abuse, according to the news show, and even addressed the official's own young son. The Arab League on Sunday announced during a special meeting in Cairo that it plans to press the UN to impose a no-fly zone over Gaza amid an escalation in violence in the area, AFP reported. Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa said he plans to present the proposal to the UN Security Council, the report said. The announcement came as Palestinian news agency Ma'an reported on Sunday that UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Roberty Serry successfully brokered a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip including Hamas.

J’lem concerned PA may not want even indirect talks without freeze; Fayyad says Palestinians seeking state, not just another declaration. The Palestinian Authority was looking to Arab League foreign ministers who met on Wednesday night in Cairo to “tie its hands” and not authorize even proximity talks until Israel freezes settlement construction, Israeli government officials said. And, indeed, the Arab League obliged, with the ministers speaking out against any talks – direct or indirect – unless the US takes a firm stance on the future borders of a Palestinian state. “The negotiation track between the Palestinians and Israelis is futile....

Madison Heights, Mich. (WXYZ) - Jennifer Tesch's six-year-old daughter has been removed from the Madison Heights Wolverine flag football cheer team. The Madison Heights mom contacted Action News last month because she was upset about the words to one of her daughter's cheerleading chants. The cheer she objects to says "our backs ache, our skirts are too tight, we shake our booties from left to right." League members were outraged, saying it cast a bad light on the league and she should have handled it internally. The team voted to keep the cheer and voted unanimously to remove the child...

Is there any doubt that the ADL has become an adjunct of the DNC? The Anti-Defamation League pushes a leftist agenda in the guise of fighting anti-Semitism and bigotry. The ADL and the establishment left have a Vulcan mind meld. The left thinks a wave of anti-Obama hysteria is sweeping the land, driven by ignorance and prejudice. So does the ADL. The left believes Islam is a benign force, and frets that terrorist acts -- like the Fort Hood murders -- will negatively impact on American Muslims. The ADL couldn't agree more.

Secretary-General Amr Moussa termed the spontaneous prayer gathering “a violation of international law.” Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, head of the Temple Institute in Jerusalem, led the guided tour on the Temple Mount. The 86-year-old league, so often regarded as the epitome of good-government wonkery, will wade into pointedly political territory during its four-day national convention, which begins today in Minneapolis. Nearly a century has passed since Lord Robert Baden-Powell founded the Boy Scouts in Great Britain. It has been a century filled with radical ideologies that recruited young men into Hitler Youth and the Communist Party, that populated the American youth cult with hippies and druggies, and that replaced fathers with fanaticisms and mores with MTV. Young men might have annihilated this world had it not been for the Boy Scouts. The Boy Scouts have always been a great threat to the utopian dreams of the ideologues. In the 1920s, the national secretary of the Young Communist League warned Lord...

Despite the team’s 8-1 record and an offense that’s averaging 32 points per game, you won’t find the North Georgia Falcons ranked among the top 10 in the latest prep football poll. You also won’t find them running drills on a freshly-cut practice field, or playing a game in front of a packed stadium on any given Friday night. In fact, you won’t find the Falcons doing many of the things that are taken for granted by the state-sanctioned high school football teams in Georgia. But what you will find when you finally locate these Falcons — who sometimes practice...

(PRWEB) October 23, 2004 -- Today, Vietnam is experiencing a minor period of outward growth. Even the most dedicated Communists are abandoning old communist economic policies, which have proven to be ineffective and sometimes harmful. Capitalism is being introduced, with the Communist Party maintained only as a vehicle to exercise absolute control of the elite Party leaders over the common people. The...

The world has decided that the territories are beyond the pale for the Jews. "Jews were specifically expelled from Moscow and St. Petersburg and forced into the Pale. Later they were also expelled from rural areas within the Pale and forced to live only in...
