Black Agenda Report’s Bruce Dixon joined Sirius XM’s Left channel’s Mark Thompson on May 27th and questioned some of Mr. Obama’s policies. Mr.Dixon, the managing editor of blackagendareport.com asks some telling questions about why those who opposed former President George W. Bush on particular policies support Mr. Obama who is continuing many of those same Bush era policies. He told Sirius/XM radio host Mr.Thompson,

President Obama is just killing the progressive movement. For the past few years, liberal activists have gathered in Washington each spring for the Take Back America conference, where speaker after speaker -- Obama sometimes among them -- would give rollicking denunciations of the Bush administration before packed rooms of partisans. But now that Obama has actually taken back America, the activists at this year's gathering feel a bit like the dog that finally caught up with the car. Organizers changed the name from Take Back America to America's Future Now, but that didn't prevent a sharp decline in participation. At...

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Last week Google brought in a herd of goats to mow the grass on its Mountain View, Calif. headquarters rather than using lawnmowers. The company said that it wanted to take a more "low-carbon" approach with the goats reducing the company's contribution to air and noise pollution. The cost of hiring the 200-some goats is about the same price as mowing, but the goats were "a lot cuter to watch." PETA responded to a TechCrunch call about the goats saying that though they have no problem with letting goats do what they do, they do have concerns...

Here is something that would. Let's go back to two of the most valiant protesters of the Vietnam War era, the Berrigan brothers, Daniel, the Jesuit and Philip, the former priest (now dead), who were at the center of lots of disruption as the anti-war movement found its way. I'm not here to argue about those positions. But the Berrigans at least were effective. That was because they were willing to give up everything they had, including their freedom, for their causes. You don't take a hammer to the nose of a warplane unless you are willing to spend some...

From the theoretically respectable to the far-left fringe, liberals seem to have gone off their medication when it comes to discussion of today’s Tax Day Tea Parties, expected to take place in over 300 cities and towns across the nation. New York Times “economist” Paul Krugman spent his Monday column about the “tea parties” calling Republicans insignificant and “embarrassing to watch.” He strains what little credibility he has left (among NY Times subscribers, since he’s long past having any with rational people), by trying to tie Tom DeLay’s disbelief in evolution to the genesis (pun intended) of the Tea Parties....

Today, modern Americans look back on ancestors who burned witches at the stake and who enslaved their brethren and shake their heads, unable to fully understand a culture that condoned such cruelty and harbored such lunacy. A hundred years from now, historians and social scientists will look back on our own crazed obsession with guns and wonder why the madness lasted so long. They’ll shake their heads over a time in which a church or nursing home or community center could suddenly fall prey to a gunman armed with a determination to murder indiscriminately. Yes, these mass shootings are a...

The G-20 trip has kicked Mighty Michelle up to a whole new level. It’s interesting how the view from abroad can shift and remake perceptions of homegrown celebrities, the ones who are part of the gross domestic product. American women already admired Michelle Obama before she left for London—her popularity rating had risen 18 points, to 72 percent, since September—but the TV coverage in the last two days has dialed her up dramatically to another level. Suddenly she has zoomed past Oprah as the inspirational It Girl and iconic female African-American role model. Oprah’s stock in trade has always been...

If you are reading this newspaper, the likelihood is that you agree with the Obama administration's recent attacks on conservative radio talker Rush Limbaugh. That's the likelihood; here's the certainty: You've never listened to Rush Limbaugh. Oh no, you haven't. Whenever I interrupt a liberal's anti-Limbaugh rant to point out that the ranter has never actually listened to the man, he always says the same thing: "I've heard him!" On further questioning, it always turns out that by "heard him," he means he's heard the selected excerpts spoon-fed him by the distortion-mongers of the mainstream media. These excerpts are specifically...

One of the darker periods of modern American history was J. Edgar Hoover's long reign over the FBI, as we have learned since he died in 1972. So it is more than a historical footnote to discover new records showing that prominent public television broadcaster Bill Moyers participated in Hoover's exploits. ...

Liberals are wont to bristle when their patriotism is questioned and then proceed to spout off that dissent is patriotic and that they can hate their government and still love their country. While these are valid points, the tables have turned; conservatism is now the dissenting view. Sadly, these guys won, and won big. They should be happy, right? They finally got the government they wanted. More than a trillion dollars worth of the government they wanted. Well that isn't the case. Oddly, less than three weeks after the coronation of Obama, a stroll through the DUmp will turn...

(watch the video of the idiot saying this) We’ve heard for years that Republicans don’t have that killer instinct. Apparently, it’s true. Multiple plastic surgery survivor Cher says that living under Republican rule almost killed her. And she was just getting started. She also said she can’t fathom why anyone wants to be a Republican and that President Obama’s “intelligence” and “spirit” is “so great” he will accomplish “more than anyone could possibly do.” When asked to explain her comment that Republicans almost “killed” her, the diva was a tad hazy on details. “My face has been stretched so tight...

David Corn seems to have had an allergic reaction to Gov. Sarah Palin's op-ed in favor of opening up a small portion of ANWR for drilling. Corn opines: This was his (sic) first stab at being a serious policy person since her unsuccessful vice-presidential bid. And it was swing and a big miss--for multiple reasons. The first "reason" Corn gives is that the governor's opinion piece was published, not by a newspaper from New York or D.C., but the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. To liberal elitists of Corn's ilk, nothing worthwhile can come from flyover country. He must believe that the issue and...

President Hussein Obama’s decision last week to unleash the killing power of a CIA Predator drone aircraft on unsuspecting terrorists in Pakistan is generating outrage on the political left, with leading anti-war groupies calling Obama a “war-monger” and demanding his immediate impeachment for “war crimes.” One left wing blogger, who goes by the name of Go Vinpal, wrote that Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Loon), was drafting war crimes charges for prosecution at the Hague. “This corrupt administration is killing innocents who were making a pilgrimage,” Vinpal breathlessly typed on an old Apple iMac, whilst in his footie pajamas, in his mom’s...

Remember this? When Stephen Harper became Prime Minister, he began saying “God Bless Canada” at the end of some of his speeches. Actually, he had used the term before he became PM, but no one cared much until then. The change caused a bit of a fuss. Oh, people were upset. They wrote letters. Columnists penned columns. Pollsters took polls.

The pick of Leon Panetta as the new director of the Central Intelligence Agency signals just one thing — Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., the president-elect, is ready to capitulate to terrorists. For weeks, there have been rumors in the military and intelligence world that Obama was having difficulty finding a new CIA director because no one who was qualified wanted to work with Eric Holder, Obama’s choice for Attorney General. Holder famously defended the “wall of separation” between the CIA and the FBI during the Clinton administration, which prevented the agencies from sharing intelligence on terrorists, for fear of harming...

SAN FRANCISCO -- More than 200 pro-Palestinian demonstrators protested today outside the Israeli Consulate and the Federal Building in San Francisco, venting anger over Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip. The demonstrators assembled about 8 a.m. at the intersection of Market and Montgomery streets, then protested outside the consulate, at 456 Montgomery, before heading up Market toward the Federal Building on Golden Gate Avenue. Traffic was stopped at several intersections. Police on foot and on motorcycles monitored protesters but made no arrests. Many protesters carried Palestinian flags, were draped in checkered Palestinian head scarves and carried anti-Israel signs, such...
