The liberal media isn’t going to spell out exactly how it goes about smearing conservatives, so Bill O’Reilly helpfully explained it last night on “The O’Reilly Factor.” Boiled down it goes like this: George Soros (and others) fund one of the left’s most prominent noise machines, Media Matters for America, which distorts statements made by conservatives and then urges reporters to provide saturation coverage of such statements as proof conservatives are hypocritical and sinister. In his “talking points” segment, O’Reilly references the Obama administration’s strategy of attempting to marginalize its most vocal opponent, radio talk show giant Rush Limbaugh:

The vast new left-wing conspiracy sets its tone every morning at 8:45 a.m., when officials from more than 20 labor, environmental and other Democratic-leaning groups dial into a private conference call hosted by two left-leaning Washington organizations. The “8:45 A.M. call,” as it’s referred to by members, began three weeks ago, and it marks a new level in coordination by the White House’s allies at a time when the conservative opposition is struggling for a toe-hold and major agenda items like health care reform appear closer than ever to passage. The call has helped attempts to link the Republican Party...

Oct. 27, 2008 | As his campaign manager has described it, John McCain is now looking at a "narrow-victory scenario." "The fact that we're in the race at all," added Steve Schmidt, "is a miracle. Because the environment is so bad and the head wind is so strong." But talk of miracles and head winds aside, I think John McCain really does have a decent shot at winning, and that's not just because I'm a longtime Republican political operative. Despite what the polls seem to be saying, a closer look at the numbers shows that a Democratic victory is not...

Read Bill Whittle in NRO today: I happen to know the person who found this audio. It is an individual person, with no more resources than a desire to know everything that he or she can about who might be the next president of the United States and the most powerful man in the world. I know that this person does not have teams of highly paid professionals, does not work out of a corner office in a skyscraper in New York, does not have access to all of the subtle and hidden conduits of information … who possesses no...

Jay McKinnon, a self-described Department of Homeland Security-trained document specialist, has implicated himself in the production of fraudulent Hawaii birth certificate images similar to the one endorsed as genuine by the Barack Obama campaign, and appearing on the same blog entry where the supposedly authentic document appears. The evidence of forgery and manipulation of images of official documents, triggered by Israel Insider's revelation of the collection of Hawaii birth certificate images on the Photobucket site and the detective work of independent investigative journalists and imaging professionals in the three weeks since the publication of the images, implicate the Daily Kos,...

Time for the daily combative Kelly interview, featuring muppet-ish Obama spokestool Bill Burton in his recurring role. The beauty of this clip is how it ties the day’s two stories together in a bow. Got a question about The One’s penchant for socialist rhetoric? Then prepare to have your motives challenged and maybe your access cut off, on top of the abuse you’ll take once his vicious little cultists get involved. Just ask “extreme hate monger” David Freddoso. She came ready to play, though, didn’t she? The polling stats flow effortlessly! Exit quotation: “You may have the rest of the...

One of the mysteries of this campaign year has been why John McCain keeps campaigning in Pennsylvania when the polls show him far behind Barack Obama there—51 percent to 41 percent in the RealClearPolitics.com average of recent polls as I write. A clue comes from the most recent poll there by SurveyUSA, which helpfully provides a regional breakdown of results. SurveyUSA, as it has consistently done, shows McCain running within the margin of error in the southwest (metro Pittsburgh and surroundings) and in the Northeast (Scranton and the anthracite country), which historically are very Democratic areas. Joe Biden's Scranton roots...

TURNOUT!Forget all the polls, all the stories made up to make news and suppress votes. The only vote that counts is the one on election day. How many votes does it take to win an election you ask? It takes just one vote, yours. If our turnout is as close to 100% as we can make it, we will win the election, that's a fact. We must cancel out the votes of not just the democrats who...

On September 6, 2001, then-state senator Barack Obama appeared on a public radio chat show to discuss "Slavery and the Constitution." You can listen to the whole show HERE. In that show -- WBEZ-FM's "Odyssey" -- Obama discussed the role of the courts in civil rights. Today, aides say, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., will seize on some of those remarks, as hyped by Mr. Drudge. Obama in that interview said, "If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement, and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to vest formal rights...

County GOP chief expects 2-to-1 turnout ratio to moderate by Nov. 4 Democrats who voted early or requested an absentee ballot outnumber Republicans 2-to-1 in Franklin County, a trend that is "eye-opening, if not shocking," a national election expert said. "It cannot be good news for the GOP that early voting turnout is trending so heavily Democratic," said Paul Gronke, executive director of the Early Voting Information Center at Reed College in Oregon. "I can think of no good reason why Republican voters are holding their ballots that is good news." Of the 29,661 Franklin County residents who cast ballots...

Monday, October 27, 2008 The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Barack Obama attracting 51% of the vote while John McCain earns 46%. Zombietime considers the Democrats' meta-campaign and argues they have adopted the worst possible strategy; bluffing when they are going to have to show their hand on November 4. This is an in interesting read, perhaps the most interesting piece on strategy I have read this year. Best of all, it points to Richard Nixon's answer to the problem of dealing with media bias. In 1968, Richard Nixon did the exact reverse of what the Democrats are now doing. Instead of announcing bombastically that he and the Republicans had complete domination of the media and the electorate, his key campaign slogan...

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama attracting 52% of the vote while John McCain earns 44%. This eight point advantage matches Obama’s biggest lead of the year in a race that has been remarkably stable down the stretch. A week ago today, Obama was up by five. Two weeks ago, he was up by seven (see trends). Today’s results mark the 30th straight day that Obama’s support has stayed between 50% and 52%. During that period, the number voting for McCain has stayed in the 44% to 46% range every day and the gap...

I have a column in the Wall Street Journal today on how to read the polls. I have been influenced, as careful readers might guess, by looking ahead to my work with the Decision Desk at Fox News Channel on election night. Exit polls in recent presidential contests have tended to show Democrats doing better than they actually did, and exit polls in most of the Democratic primaries this year showed Barack Obama doing better than he actually did. So, we can be pretty sure that when the first Edison/Mitofsky exit poll numbers are released to media clients, including Fox...

How are you holding up? I am heavily medicated. What are you taking? I’m teasing. It’s just a line from one of my favorite movies, “Spinal Tap.” I feel I should be heavily medicated. In the past few weeks you’ve been pilloried by the right for a column you contributed to a Web site, “Sorry, Dad, I’m Voting for Obama.” What I mounted in The Daily Beast was an argument. It was not an attitudinal riff — it was not “John McCain is an old snarly-pants.” I presented a thoughtful argument, and it was viewed as apostasy. As a result,...

Barack Obama's campaign killed all interviews with a Florida TV station after Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, faced tough and critical questions from a reporter at the Orlando station, the Orlando Sentinel reported . "Are you joking?," Biden asked. West replied, "No."

PHILADELPHIA — A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit challenging Barack Obama's qualifications to be president. U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick on Friday night rejected the suit by attorney Philip J. Berg, who alleged that Obama was not a U.S. citizen and therefore ineligible for the presidency. Obama was born in Hawaii to an American mother and a Kenyan father. His parents divorced, and his mother married an Indonesian man. Internet-fueled conspiracy theories...

Can this year's presidential race end peacefully? Earlier this year (July 20th to be precise) I published a column entitled “If Obama Loses In November, Will America Suffer?” In it, I referenced the many things that were being said and written about the historical and cultural significance of Obama’s candidacy (especially the many things that Obama has written about his “life’s journey,” and the extraordinary declarations that he has made about his own historical significance). I then contemplated what might happen if, despite all the “significance” of his candidacy, Obama were to actually lose the election. As I pointed out...

Although Senator Barack Obama has been allied with a succession of far left individuals over the years, that is only half the story. There are, after all, some honest and decent people on the left. But these have not been the ones that Obama has been allied with— allied, not merely "associated" with. ACORN is not just an organization on the left. In addition to the voter frauds that ACORN has been involved in over the years, it is an organization with a history of thuggery, including going to bankers' homes to harass them and their families, in order to...

I have no idea where Obama was born but this ridiculous that Obama just ignored a court order to produce a birth certificate. October 23, 2008Where is Obama’s Birth Certificate and Why Doesn’t He Produce It? Joan Swirsky  Four years ago, when I had just about completed the lengthy legal and financial vetting process required by the U.S. government to place my then-92-year-old-mother in a nursing home, I was asked to produce her birth certificate as “proof” of her citizenship. Overview: There are lawsuits being filed in multiple states. If Obama has nothing to hide, then his behavior is foolish both politically and cash-wise [legal fees] -- it would have been easy to end speculation by simply showing his birth certificate. Among the first to challenge his qualification to be president were the PUMAs. The most well reported lawsuit is by Berg, a Hillary supporter. One of the recent shockers is that Obama's Kenyan grandmother reportedly witnessed him born in Kenya. Another shocker is that Obama was, at least technically, Islamic while in Indonesia. There is also a flimsy paper...

A federal judge in Philadelphia last night threw out a complaint by a Montgomery County lawyer who claimed that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was not qualified to be president and that his name should be removed from the Nov. 4 ballot.[snip] In a 34-page memorandum and opinion, the judge said Berg's allegations of harm were "too vague and too attenuated" to confer standing on him or any other voters. Surrick ruled that Berg's attempts to use certain laws to gain standing to pursue his claim that Obama was not a natural-born citizen were "frivolous and not worthy of discussion."...

So, who does have standing? According to the Hon. R. Barclay Surrick, that's completely up to Congress to decide. If, through the political process, Congress determines that citizens, voters, or party members should police the Constitution’s eligibility requirements for the Presidency, then it is free to pass laws conferring standing on individuals like Plaintiff. Until that time, voters do not have standing to bring the sort of challenge that Plaintiff attempts to bring in the Amended Complaint.
