"We're here, we're queer, get used to it!" Dozens of lesbian activists at Smith College climbed in through windows and stormed the podium in a riot scene shortly after Ryan Sorba began a speech on his upcoming book, The Born Gay Hoax. The melee forced an end to the speech before a packed hall in the library on the Northhampton campus. Uniformed police officers and a plainclothes security guard were in the room but mostly just stood and watched. Rather than take action against the rioters, the officers and a university official walked to the podium and ordered Sorba to...
  • Negative U.S. Media Linked To Increased Insurgent Attacks (Harvard U: MSM Is Emboldening Insurgents

Researchers at Harvard say that publicly voiced doubts about the U.S. occupation of Iraq have a "measureable effect" on insurgents there. Periods of intense news media coverage in the United States of criticism about the war, or of polling about public opinions on the conflict, are followed by a small but quantifiable increases in the number of attacks on civilians and U.S. forces in Iraq... The increase in attacks is more pronounced in areas of Iraq that have better access to international news media, the authors conclude in a report titled "Is There an 'Emboldenment' Effect? Evidence from the Insurgency...
  • Left Wingers Invading Internet Forums?

I have noticed an increase in liberals, left-wingers, progressives, socialists, whatever else they might be called, posting on various internet forums. These are usually not politically focused forums. They never seem to post anything regarding the actual theme of these forums, instead they just post Democrat talking points. When they get banned, a new one registers within a couple of days. Has anybody heard of any left-wing organizations that might be behind this sort of activity?

Hacker Indicted In January of last year, the hacker group collectively known as the "Internet Liberation Front" gained illegal access to the ProtestWarrior server, stealing thousands of credit card numbers in order to commit massive credit card fraud. The following month, ProtestWarrior discovered the identity of the perpetrators: Jeremy Hammond and a ring of hackers recruited through his criminal front at hackthissite.org. ProtestWarrior performed a forensic analysis of the intrusion and contacted the FBI, which immediately launched an investigation. With the collected evidence, the FBI was able to execute a search warrant on Jeremy's residence on March 16, 2005. PDF...

Now that denunciations of Ward Churchill have gained an official status, I'm just wondering: Will the administration of DePaul University issue an apology to the DePaul Conservative Alliance for its shameful conduct in trying to censor group's protest of the F-Troop Indian's paid campus appearance last fall? I know these guys, and they way got kicked around by DePaul was reprehensible. Here is the FIRE report on DePaul's misdeeds that revolved around the Ward Churchill appearance. And besides those outrages, there's also the case where DePaul stomped on the free speech rights of the DCA when they attempted to host...

Borking Bolton By Jennifer King April 25, 2005 John Bolton, nominated by President Bush to become the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, has been under a vicious assault by the united forces of the Left and the Democrat Party. Bolton has been a vocal critic of the U.N. and could be counted upon to stand up for American interests there. This does not suit our internationalist friends at all - they view American power with alarm and believe, as Madeleine Albright once said that, "it is not good for America to be the lone superpower". The major media is...

(CNSNews.com) - Sen. John Kerry's presidential campaign has hired a new director of religion outreach, who is being described by a Catholic group as "a curious choice." Mara Vanderslice, who formerly worked as religion outreach director for Democrat Howard Dean, was raised without any faith and didn't become an evangelical Christian until she attended Earlham College, a Quaker school known for its adherence to pacifism, the Catholic League said on Monday. According to Catholic League President William Donohue, when Vanderslice was in college she was active in the Earlham Socialist Alliance, a group that supports convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal and...

Yesterday many of us were lucky enough to hear Randi Rhodes SLAMMING Bev Harris on Err America after shilling for Bev for weeks. When I heard about this I was all excited to listen to the Randi Rhodes show rerun which is played every morning on 940 AM radio here in South Florida. However, when I listened in this morning, that interview was mysteriously GONE. I checked in on the online Randi Rhodes archives and that interview segment was also mysteriously GONE. A couple of other archive searches and the same result. The interview was edited OUT. Obviously Randi Rhodes...

The flood of American liberals sneaking across the border into Canada has intensified in the past week, sparking calls for increased patrols to stop the illegal immigration. The re-election of President Bush is prompting the exodus among left-leaning citizens who fear they'll soon be required to hunt, pray and agree with Bill O'Reilly. Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal rights activists and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red...

Tony Blair's future was under fresh challenge from the Labour Left last night as it emerged that anti-war activists were pressing for a potentially explosive debate on his leadership at next month's party conference. The plan, which ministers believe is being co-ordinated by hardliners in constituency parties, is evidence of growing concern about Mr Blair's refusal to apologise for the Iraq conflict. Activists are also upset about the direction of domestic policy and recent sharp falls in membership. Tony Blair: must learn the lessons of Iraq Robin Cook, the former foreign secretary, stoked the row yesterday by backing disillusioned modernisers who...

Trenton, NJ (LifeNews.com) -- Mary Kreiss-Papalski was shocked to open her New Jersey Education Association newsletter and find an announcement that the teacher's union was inviting members to join the union in supporting and attending the pro-abortion March for Freedom of Choice Rally in Washington D.C. this April. Not only was the invitation published in the March 2004 NJEA review, the announcement also stated that the Association's Women in Education Committee, "with approval form the NJEA Executive Committee, will charter two buses for members." "When I read this I was quite upset," said Kreiss-Papalski, an NJEA member and guidance secretary...

Imagine that you are in occupied Europe in 1945, and it's your duty to get collaborators commentary out - written down on your trusty Underwood. It's our duty and our privilege. Write on. Here's a sampling of what I've found: Washington (com)Post writer Robin Wright, "this isn't going to transform the situation" Time's Joe Klein, "another terrorist attack on America would completely change this dynamic." Did anyone else here happen to hear Rush mention Free Republic around 1:20 PM Eastern time? I was taping his program, but the tape ran out just as he mentioned us. To the best of my ability, I'll try to remember how he led into it: In the context of telling everyone to quit worrying about moveon.org, and the influence they have with people, he said that if you want to see what REAL influence is, just let Drudge turn his site over to activism and you will see "REAL influence". He said that if he decided to have another...

Whatever it is, I'm against it. – Groucho Marx in “Horse Feathers” Total negativism is an appropriate attitude for Groucho’s zany version of a college president. His ridiculous dance in an academic robe still makes us laugh. But negativism is not an appropriate attitude for citizens of a republic. It is still less appropriate for leaders of a great nation. And it’s not at all amusing. When a small child learns he can...

Antiwar organizers add to agendas By ANNE BLYTHE, Staff Writer Hoping to recapture some momentum after failing to head off a U.S. invasion of Iraq, antiwar activists are soldiering on and adding a few more causes to the peace agenda. Crowd numbers dropped at peace rallies after the war started last month, a decline organizers explained as an attempt by some protesters to show respect to the troops. The demonstrations continue, however, as images of cheering Iraqis toppling statues and defacing portraits of Saddam Hussein have done little to change the minds of people at the core of the Triangle...

Americans who insist the Bush administration has not made an adequate case for an attack on Iraq are gearing up for more intense and dramatic protests. Joint...
