Roseanne Barr posted what many are convinced was a racist tweet, and ABC summarily canceled her sitcom. As Roseanne is considered a Donald Trump supporter and Trump is widely accused of racism, people are loosely smearing Trump as responsible for her, however indirectly. Maybe I'm defensive about loose charges of racism, but if so, I've acquired my defensiveness honestly, because racism has become the left's favorite categorical smear of conservatives and Republicans. It's not something I'm imagining. I've written about it many times, basing it on my observations of leftists and Democrats in action. I don't believe that Democrats are...

Less than one week before the California primary, Google listed “Nazism” as the ideology of the California Republican Party. In the “knowledge panel” that provides easy access to information next to search results, Google listed “Nazism” as an “ideology” of the party. The word “Nazism” was hyperlinked to a secondary page that shows “Nazism” alongside other “ideologies” of California Republicans like “Conservatism,” "Market liberalism,” “Fiscal conservatism,” and “Green conservatism." California voters have been casting their absentee ballots for weeks ahead of the next Tuesday’s statewide primary elections which will help determine the majority in the House of Representative and the...

"Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said Tuesday. ABC, in a stunning move, has decided to cancel its Roseanne revival following star Roseanne Barr's racist tweet Tuesday. "Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show," ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said Tuesday. Early Tuesday, star, head writer and exec producer Barr attacked Valerie Jarrett, a senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, in a since-deleted tweet in which she said "Muslim...

There's a great scene in the movie Witness where a bunch of bullies start picking on some Amish farmers, and then they pick on Harrison Ford, who is sporting Extreme Mennonite drag. They knock off his straw hat, laugh at him, and then he beats the crap out of them. The bullies are shocked, stunned, and bewildered. Why, he’s not supposed to fight back! Why, the Amish, they’re better than that! But Harrison’s not. As his buddy says, he’s from Ohio.I am not better than that either. How about you?Because today, being “better than that” means being willing to allow other people...

Donald Trump Jr. is furious with Instagram because he says the social media platform issued a warning to users searching his name. After noticing a massive loss of followers in the past few weeks, President Trump’s oldest son claimed to have discovered a warning message issued to Instagram users and expressed his outrage in a post to the platform Friday night. He tagged Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, which owns Instagram. “REALLY?!?! Are you fricken kidding me? @zuck this is insane,” he wrote. “I get that my 3 year old Chloe can be pretty aggressive as are a few...

The supermarket giant acknowledges its support of Adam Putnam has "led to a divide in our community." Publix, facing consumer boycotts, student protests and threats to its wholesome image for its generous support of Adam Putnam's bid for governor, announced Friday it is suspending all corporate campaign contributions immediately. The popular retailer, facing a rapidly escalating public relations crisis fueled largely by social media and the debate over guns, issued a statement at the start of the three-day Memorial Day holiday weekend acknowledging the "divide" that it has caused by its unprecedented financial support of Putnam's campaign. "At Publix, we...

This discusses a reaction to the gun control debate. I am convinced that the left's war on the Second Amendment has nothing to do with public safety (even if some of their foot soldiers believe it individually, and even though the argument is renewed frequently, especially but not exclusively if a gun is used in a crime). The leaders, however, know that if fundamental transformation becomes complete, and their brand of communism is finally installed in America, allowing their totalitarian impulses to be released, it will require the installation of the usual leftist police state to maintain their power and...

First, the oldest but best Christian joke in the world (The second best is the one about how what was going on in Gomorrah was so bad nobody will talk about it): There’s this Christian guy who gets on his roof to escape a flood. He prays to God to save him. A rowboat comes by. He says, “No thanks, God will save me.” The rowboat leaves, the water rises, and he drowns. He appears before the Lord and says, “But I prayed for you to save me!” and God says, “I sent you a rowboat.” Donald Trump is religious...

A long-awaited report on free speech protections at the University of California, Berkeley, blames “hard to defend” conservative speakers for inciting left-wing students to violence. A commission of Berkeley faculty, students formed in 2017 after violent and costly student protests called its commitment to free speech into question. Their months long study of the issue resulted in the conclusion that “ultra-conservative rhetoric” by the likes of Milo Yiannopoulos and Ann Coulter only exists to “advance a facile narrative that universities are not tolerant of conservative speech.” “Contrary to a currently popular narrative, Berkeley remains a tolerant campus,” the report says,...

The growing attempt to personally destroy superstar Kanye West has moved to Detroit where a radio station has banned the superstar’s music. The fallout continues against Kanye West is growing. Case in point, the hashtag #MuteKanye, which is part of a left-wing campaign to silence and marginalize West. In the spirit of that movement, Detroit radio station 105.1 The Bounce has announced that going forward West’s music is blacklisted.

Conservatives are keeping quiet about their beliefs. The dominant force in America and many other Western countries today is fear of the Left. This is a result of the fact that the most dynamic religion of the past 100 years has been neither Christianity nor Islam. It has been leftism. Whoever does not recognize this does not understand the contemporary world. Leftism — in its incarnations, such as Marxism, Communism, and socialism; expressed through egalitarianism, environmentalism, and feminism; in its denigration of capitalism and Western civilization, especially America and Israel; in its supplanting of Christianity and Judaism; through its influence on...

It would have been nice if Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, one of the gods of totalitarian tech, had been sitting next to iconic conservative bloggers Diamond and Silk as they testified on Zuckerberg’s censoring of their Facebook page and the opinions the dynamic duo expressed there. But that would have meant that the Internet gatekeeper would have had to leave his safe space of corporate and even congressional sycophancy. As it was, Zuckerberg could sit back and watch Democrats engage at Thursday’s House Judiciary Committee hearings in the character assassination they level at any blacks who express conservative opinions or...

After the rest of the hip-hop world threw in its two cents on Kanye West’s mysterious and yet-to-be-explained adoration for Donald Trump, social media’s favorite cutup 50 Cent had to get in on this one. But this time, West Coast rap icon Snoop Dogg, who previously shared sentiments on the matter, took Fifty’s trolling DonYe bromance magazine cover as another opportunity to share much choosier words for the Chicago emcee. 50 Cent posted a meme to his Instagram featuring a Photoshopped Vogue magazine cover with Yeezy. The original cover is a romantic picture from Kanye and Kim Kardashian’s 2014 shoot...

The California Legislature has proposed banning the sale of books written by ex-gay people and Christians who seek to help others who want to restrain or control their sexuality. Bill AB 2943 would ban the sale of goods and services that encourage one to change his or her sexual orientation or gender expression. That's right, the left is banning books! (Don't hold your breath waiting for the American Library Association to kick up a fuss, though.) National Review reported the details: First, the bill by its own terms applies to very broad categories of services and goods. Here’s the key enabling...

They’re back. This paper has learned exclusively that the Brooklyn Friends of the NRA, whose event featuring a gun auction was booted from two Brooklyn venues over the past couple of months after local residents and elected officials expressed strong objections, will be holding their dinner at the Dyker Heights Knights of Columbus, at 86th Street and 13th Avenue, tonight, beginning at 6 p.m.

Amazon.com has removed a Catholic group from its donation feature. The AmazonSmile Participation Agreement states that certain categories of organizations are not eligible to participate in AmazonSmile. We rely on the Southern Poverty Law Center to determine which charities are in certain ineligible categories. You have been excluded from the AmazonSmile program because the Southern Poverty Law Center lists Saint Benedict Center Inc in an ineligible category.

Student senators at the University of Washington-Seattle recently introduced a bill that would require fraternities to prevent "cultural appropriation" during social gatherings. [Snip] ... the bill is necessary because many "mainstream [fraternity] celebrations further perpetuate stereotypes minority groups have to face," adding that they contribute to the "harm that minority students face" on campus.
