On the June 16th edition of WNYC's "On the Media", the New York City affiliate of National Public Radio, hosts Brooke Gladstone and Bob Garfield took the soft-spoken approach explaining that political assassination satire has been part of the arts culture going all the way back to William Shakespeare and even qualified the outrage over NYC's Public Theater's depiction of the Donald Trump-Julius Caesar onstage bloodletting with a 2012 Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis production where an Obamaesque Caesar was also killed onstage.

The chairwoman of the Nebraska Democratic Party's Black Caucus is resisting pressure to resign after she called Republicans' reactions to the shooting of House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R., La.) "so funny." Chelsey Gentry-Tipton of Omaha, Neb. also wrote on Facebook that she was "having a hard time feeling bad" for Republicans, the Omaha World-Herald reported. Both comments were made Wednesday, the day of the shooting in Alexandria, Va. that injured Scalise and four others. The chairwoman of the Nebraska Democratic Party, Jane Kleeb, has requested for Gentry-Tipton's resignation. Gentry-Tipton said "Y is this so funny tho?" in response to...

Jack Posobiec and Laura Loomer turned up in New York City’s Central Park tonight and caused chaos during the production of Julius Ceaser. Laura Loomer ran up on stage screaming, “This is political violence against the right and it’s unacceptable!” The production company halted the play as the crowd shouted down Loomer telling her to get off the stage. Security personnel ascended on the stage to escort her off. Posobiec, who filmed the altercation, then started shouting at the audience calling them Nazis and “Goebbels.”

Longtime Union County Democratic operative James Devine has shown his true colors in response to the shooting of Republican Congressman Steve Scalise. Devine, unapologetic with his words, is calling for a "hunt" of Republicans under the hashtag #HuntRepublicanCongressmen. He also claims he was not advocating for violence, which might be believable to people who think law-abiding citizens protecting their Second Amendment rights are responsible for violence in America. In fact, he claims he was mirroring GOP Senator Rand Paul's comment that the Second Amendment is for "shooting at the government when it becomes tyrannical." His idea of a tyrannical...

Next Thursday, Washington sculptor James Kelsey will unveil Piss Trump, a giant photography piece depicting Donald Trump naked, crucified and suspended in a tank of piss. Kelsey says it's not totally his intention for Piss Trump to be inflammatory. "I want the unveiling to be a catharsis for us," he says. "Not another reason to express anger." Piss Trump resembles Andres Serrano's 1987 Piss Christ, a photo of a ghostly crucifix tinted yellow by the dark urine in which its submerged. The controversy over Piss Christ was exacerbated when the work won an award that was partly funded by the...

Some conservatives have seized on Wednesday's shooting of Republican Rep. Steve Scalise and three others as the latest example of what they see as rising political violence from the left. Fox News' Sean Hannity accused Democrats of "dehumanizing" Republicans, and the right-leaning Washington Times ran an editorial by a Tea Party activist that called leftist protests "the first skirmishes of the second American civil war." But those who track extremism say that while there are a few far-left groups that raise red flags, their numbers remain small. Much of the conservatives' anger has been aimed at "Antifa" — short for...

James T. Hodgkinson, the shooter who opened fire on dozens of Republican congressmen and staffers at a baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia, on Wednesday, had a list of Republican names in his pocket that was recovered by the FBI, The Daily Caller has learned. The news that the shooter had a list of names suggests the shooting was not a random outburst, but instead appears to be a premeditated political assassination. The list was written out on notepad paper and found in the shooter’s pocket, according to multiple sources with intimate knowledge of the situation, who spoke on condition of...

Hey, look, CNN isn’t saying they want Trump to be assassinated. They’ve just been doing a lot of thinking about what would happen if he was. The following appeared on their network yesterday. You didn’t see it, because it’s CNN: “Dear Viewer: What would happen if — and God forbid it happens — all the people you hate most in the world were wiped out all at once?” These guys are in mourning, and they’re desperate for any glimmer of hope that they can cling to the power they crave above all else. They couldn’t get out the vote on...

After far-left progressive and avid Bernie Sander’s supporter James Hodgkinson opened fire on Republicans preparing for a baseball game this morning, managing to wound House Majority Whip Steve Scalise who remains in critical condition, some of the most radical leftists in the media couldn’t contain their satisfaction at Republicans being targeted in an act of violence. Malcolm Harris, who writes for far-left publication The Washington Post, was one such leftist who expressed his satisfaction at today’s shooting. Malcolm most recently published an article for The Washington Post on June 9th titled “Why do millennials keep leaking government secret?”This morning, Malcolm...

American Express today again refused to withdraw its sponsorship of The Public Theater's adaptation of Julius Caesar, which is now playing in New York's Central Park. The play depicts the brutal assassination of President Donald Trump as he is stabbed to death by multiple assassins. Other theater sponsors, including Delta Air Lines and Bank of America, withdrew their sponsorship from the theater earlier this week. Despite today's attempted massacre of two dozen Republican lawmakers by a leftist gunman provoked by violent anti-Trump rhetoric, American Express stands firm in its corporate support of The Public Theater. In a phone conversation with...

Alexandria shooter James Hodgkinson lived out of a gym bag and hung out for the past month-and-a-half at the YMCA across the street from where he opened fire, according to a report Wednesday. Bill Euille, former mayor of Alexandria, said he and Hodgkinson spoke almost every day at the Y, where the alleged gunman would be seen working on his laptop, the Washington Post reported. “He was a very friendly person. But what I did notice about this gentleman is he’d open up his gym bag and in it, he had everything he owned,” said Euille, who lost his re-election...

Listening to Fox News, the gun the shooter used has been identified as an SKS with 7.62 X 39 ammo, with a scope, and called a "high powered rifle." Of course an SKS is not high powered, or particularly accurate....but the ignorance, fear, and bias of the Media--even on Fox--is already coming out--to pound the drum against the 2nd Amendment.

A GOP lawmaker said Wednesday that the alleged gunman in a shooting at a congressional baseball practice that wounded five asked whether “Republicans or Democrats” were on the field shortly before the attack in Virginia. Rep. Ron DeSantis, (R-Fla.), told CNBC that a man came up to him and Rep. Jeff Duncan, (R-S.C.), at the practice and asked if the players on the field were Republicans or Democrats. “We both agreed that that individual who came up to us and asked if it was Republicans or Democrats ... is the same individual police have identified," DeSantis said. "That picture is...

Liberal writer tweets hoping wounded lawmaker dies, says 'respect for human life' doesn't apply to GOP by at 1:34 PM A left-wing writer is making no apologies after suggesting on Twitter that the Wednesday morning shooting of a Republican congressman and staffers may have been tantamount to an act of “self-defense.” Malcolm Harris, who has a book contract with Little, Brown of New York, made tasteless tweets Wednesday morning following the shooting of at least four people in Alexandria, Virginia, including Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.). Harris suggested the shooting of conservative Republicans could be justified. "If the shooter has a...
