  • Huckabee Rejects Debates Over Obama's Faith

    The Christian Post ^ | 02/25/2011 | Nathan Black
Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee came out in defense of President Barack Obama and his professed Christian faith on Thursday. During a press briefing at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Huckabee criticized the debates over Obama's religion and birthplace as "useless" and "unnecessary." "I know for some people that is an obsession but it's not with me," said the Southern Baptist. With rare public appearances at churches on Sundays and a smaller percentage of Americans (34 percent, according to the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life) who believe the president is a Christian, debate continues to loom...

Most of the the nation was shocked during the 2008 presidential campaign when videos came out of Reverend Jeremiah Wright. After all, this was candidate Barack Obama’s spiritual advisor and mentor.  The initial reaction was typical of our divided nation.  Conservatives pushed the Wright videos and the Left tried to silence their importance.  After a while people just got sick of talking about it. When the dust settled the accepted ‘reality’ was that Jeremiah Wright was nuts but Obama barely knew the guy and never heard any of Wright’s more extreme teaching.  Today if you bring up Jeremiah Wright, eyes...

By J.J. Speelman It should come as no surprise that many Americans question the religious beliefs of President Obama. One only needs to look at his approach to foreign policy and his attitude toward the American way of life to find that it is consistent with the anti-American sentiment that is so prevalent among many Muslims. “Is Obama a Muslim?” Headlines ask. Is the question appropriate? I believe it is. Obama has fueled this question by bowing to foreign Muslim leaders, apologizing to dictators for America’s “arrogance,” dhimmitude in the healthcare bill, and his refusal to answer questions truthfully regarding...

In a brilliant piece of writing and detective work, Mr. Lord has traced a rather involved series of links from Mr. Coons' junior year of college abroad in Africa, and his marked change in political views, to the Black Liberation Theology movement in South Africa, and ultimately to Trinity UCC Church in Chicago, home of one Jeremiah Wright and our sitting President....

I think it's a fair question to ask. I too have taken notice that 'Obama is a muslim', some of the puzzle pieces fit. But not enough IMHO, it doesn't stand on it's own. Now, if you re ask the question as "Is Obama an appeaser of muslims" then all of the puzzle pieces fit, particularly that of radical liberation theology. There shouldn't be any questions that he believes that garbage. Obama is not a muslim, he is a believer in liberation. And that does stand on it's own.

Do most Christians you know choose to decorate their Christmas tree with smiling images of Chairman Mao, who murdered at least 50 million of his countrymen, as well as signed photos of transvestite Hedda Lettuce? Yessiree, President Obama's long-time spiritual guru is once again regaling audiences with his unique blend of fire-and-brimestone and racial invective. Wright then accused whites of designing schools to mis-educate blacks "not by benign neglect but by malignant intent." Refocusing his broadside, Wright continued, "whites and Jews are controlling the flow of worldwide information and...

The Washington Post’s really should consider renaming Anthony Stevens-Arroyo’s column in its “On Faith” blog. “Catholic America” should be “Liberal Democrat Catholic America,” just for the sake of truth in advertising. On June 23, left-wing hack Stevens-Arroyo again injected his politics into the ostensibly religious column. In “Common good v corp. profits,” he actually wrote that Catholics should “embrace a redistribution of wealth.” The column sought to explain how Catholics and others should view Judge Martin Feldman’s ruling overturning the Obama moratorium on off-shore drilling. As the Declaration of Independence more elegantly states, "Goverments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." If we, the people make a social compact by which we consent to be governed, it means that government is our servant, not our master. What is Black Liberation Theology anyway? Barack Obama's former pastor, Jeremiah Wright catapulted black liberation theology onto a national stage, when America discovered Trinity United Church of Christ. Understanding the background of the movement might give better clarity into Wright's recent vitriolic preaching. A clear definition of black theology was first given formulation in 1969 by the National Committee of Black Church Men in the midst of the civil-rights movement: Black theology is a theology of black liberation. It seeks to plumb the black condition in the light of God's revelation in Jesus Christ, so that the black community can...

"I believe the explanation lies in the Obama administration’s fondness for transnationalism, a doctrine of post-sovereign globalism in which America is seen as owing its principal allegiance to the international legal order rather than to our own Constitution and national interests. "Recall that the president chose to install former Yale Law School dean Harold Koh as his State Department’s legal adviser. Koh is the country’s leading proponent of transnationalism. He is now a major player in the administration’s deliberations over international law and cooperation. Naturally, membership in the International Criminal Court, which the United States has resisted joining, is high...

(WARNING: Extreme hypocrisy alert! If what you read below revolts you, don't say you weren't warned in advance).Did you know that there is a new religion out there? In addition to the Eastern Orthodox Catholics, Anglican Catholics, and Roman Catholics, there is now something called "Kennedy Catholics." At least according to the suddenly devout William Rivers Pitt in his DUmmie THREAD, "For any and all Kennedy Catholics on this page." Fasten your seatbelts because you will see the exact same folks who have no problem cursing out people who attend real (not Kennedy) Catholic churches suddenly become exceeding reverent,...

In a stunning display of audacity, President Obama took the opportunity of a conference call with ministers to strongly imply that his opponents were misrepresenting his healthcare plan and "bearing false witness" before reminding them that "I am my brother's keeper." OK Mr. President... other than the fact that the majority of misrepresentation and lies seem to be coming from your White House, as far as I know the Bible never says that "I am my brother's keeper." Genesis 4:9 asks "Am I my brother's keeper?"... but the question is unanswered. Even if the answer is YES... how does that...

It tries the soul to believe otherwise when we read the following: "Sarah, you’re the one who is acting in an "evil" way."[...] "Politics for people like you is really all about you, your fame and power, and your taste of it during the last election has revealed what kind of politician you truly are."[...] "Please don’t invoke your 'Christian faith' anymore and embarrass the people of God even further. May your efforts to scare Americans during this important debate fail. May your political future also fail, and may your star fall as fast as it rose just a few...

HAVANA – Cubans accustomed to hourslong speeches, thousand-word essays and lengthy interviews can now get Fidel Castro at a glance, thanks to a new dictionary of El Comandante's teachings. "Unemployment" and "History" are among the myriad words for which the 339-page paperback provides definitions — based on snippets of speeches, columns and statements dispensed by Castro during the 49 years he governed the communist-run island. The publication, which the government says is meant to provide guidance to Cuban thinkers, calls to mind the "Little Red Book" of the late Chinese communist leader, Chairman Mao Zedong.

NEW YORK — The head of the United Nations General Assembly signalled Friday a breakthrough is imminent in talks to resolve the political crisis in Honduras. Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann spoke in New York as thousands of supporters of Honduras’s ousted president, Manuel Zelaya, held rallies in the Central American country. “I have a feeling that we are moving in that direction rather quickly,” the former Nicaraguan revolutionary, who is also a Catholic priest, told a news conference at the UN. Insiders suggested that a timetable had been laid out in which Zelaya, a rich landowner whose leftist policies led him...

Excerpt from The American Thinker Article: Obama, Black Liberation Theology, and Karl MarxMay 28, 2008 Just one nugget from the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, "Instruction on Certain Aspects of the ‘Theology of Liberation': " would be illusory and dangerous to ignore the intimate bond which radically unites them (liberation theologies), and to accept elements of the marxist analysis without recognizing its connections with the (Marxist) ideology, or to enter into the practice of the class-struggle and of its marxist interpretation while failing to see the kind of totalitarian society to which this process slowly leads."--Joseph Cardinal...
