US Republican Senator Mitt Romney has revealed he uses a secret Twitter account under the name Pierre Delecto. In an interview with The Atlantic magazine on Sunday, the former presidential candidate admitted he had a "lurker" Twitter handle to follow the US political conversation anonymously. While he did not reveal its name, U.S. news site Slate posted an article speculating it could be Pierre Delecto @qaws 9876. Asked to confirm by a journalist, Mr. Romney said "C'est moi" ("It's me").....

A precious FREEPER has asked me to post this for a parent who lurks but doesn't post. The parent desires privacy etc. but the FREEPER also wants prayer from so many precious FREEPER prayer warriors who believe in the power of prayer. The parent has been given longer than a year guesstimated to live . . . with all the uncertainties that go with such predictions.

  • White House Shifts Its Focus on Climate (says greenhouse gases explain global warming)

    NY Times ^ | August 26, 2004 | ANDREW C. REVKIN
In a striking shift in the way the Bush administration has portrayed the science of climate change, a new report to Congress focuses on federal research indicating that emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases are the only likely explanation for global warming over the last three decades. In delivering the report to Congress yesterday, an administration official, Dr. James R Mahoney, said it reflected "the best possible scientific information" on climate change. Previously, President Bush and other officials had emphasized uncertainties in understanding the causes and consequences of warming as a reason for rejecting binding restrictions on heat-trapping...

Hello people. What I am about to say may be painful but please bear me out. When I first came to this site I was horrified. I saw only the posts of the neo-conservative extremists (bomb the arab, kill Islam, nuke the middle-east etc.) I was mystified how such folks could exist. I decided to post comments to "test the waters" and get a feel for this site. As I did so I was banned numerous times. I testified if this site was anti-semantic (as naturally I thought this site was so far right to be anti-sematic) by making dubiosly...

I wanted to know what a "Lurker" was. I Googled the tag and came across this website... The Lurker: " Lurker does not participate in normal forum discourse, but he's out there...watching, reading every message. Generally, he is quite harmless. In fact, his silence usually reflects a natural reticence rather than any sinister motives. He is content to let the other people haul the conversational freight and, if a fight breaks out he will observe quietly. Occasionally, however, some mysterious impulse drives him to de-lurk and attack. Other Warriors regard his unexpected assault as an ambush, and invariably turn on...

Hannity was in Roanoke, VA on Friday, 11/1 for his book tour. By winning a contest on our local talk radio station, I was able to ride in the Limo with Sean to the airport. I asked him if he was a Freeper, and he said he doesn't have a lot of time to spend on the internet but he Lurks frequently. Sean is extremely nice, genuine and his success has definitely not gone to his head.
