Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said today the FBI is seeking to locate people in video from the marathon, but she added she isn’t calling them suspects. Without providing details of what the video shows, Napolitano told the House Homeland Security Committee that “there is some video that raised the question” of individuals the FBI would like to interview. "We have been collecting video from a variety of sources, as you might imagine, at the finish line of the Boston Marathon,” Napolitano said. “There’s lots and lots of video. There is some video that has raised the question of those...

The Boston Marathon bombings have sparked more anger than fear among Americans, who are confident those responsible will be caught. That’s according to a Fox News overnight poll of voters nationwide. Two explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday killed three and injured 176. When asked which best describes how they feel about the bombings, 58 percent of voters say: angry. That’s double the number who feels worried (27 percent).

On Monday, the New York Post doggedly stuck to its claim that 12 were killed in the Boston Marathon bombings. On Tuesday, CNN (among others) reported that a suspect had been arrested, before walking that all the way back. Today, the Post wrests back the..... (A couple bad words in article)

The FBI is (finally!) going to release the footage that everyone’s been clamoring for later today. If you’ve read the New York Post this morning, you probably think you know who the guys in the video will be. You’re probably wrong. I watched an interview on Erin Burnett’s show last night with Fran Townsend (I think it was her), who’d seen photos of the suspects circulated by cops; CNN refused to air the pics but it was abundantly clear from her description that it’s the same two guys in the Post’s story today. If you followed Reddit’s marathon photo sleuthing...

Place your bets folks, he's speaking generally now, but will he go on about gun control?

Somewhere near Boston early Monday morning, he packed a bomb in a bag. It was by all accounts relatively crude — a pressure cooker, explosives, some wires, ball bearings and nails . . . nails which, hours later, doctors would struggle to remove from the flesh of bleeding victims. His motive is unclear. His intent is not: It was to maximize injury, suffering, pain, trauma and, yes, death. Perhaps Monday’s bomber will be caught, perhaps not. Perhaps Monday’s bomber will be offered a teaching job at Columbia University. Forty-three years ago last month, Kathy Boudin, now a professor at Columbia...

Yesterday, we posted a photo of Abdul Rahman Ali Issa Al-Salimi Al-Harbi, a Saudi national who was a ‘person of interest’ in the Boston marathon bombings. In that photo, Al-Harbi doesn’t appear to be the least bit concerned about his fate. Now we have another photo (h/t Diana West) of Alharbi at the hospital, smiling while standing next to what appears to be a Saudi diplomat...

..The lead investigators of the Boston Marathon terror attack are at federal offices right now to meet and discuss whether to release a surveillance video to the public for help in identifying people in the video, an official said. No decision has been made yet on whether to release it, said Christina DiIorio-Sterling of the U.S. Attorney’s office.. She cautioned against speculation about possible suspects and packages in images of the Marathon crowds. Today, the New York Post printed photos of two men — widely circulated on the Internet — that the paper said have been e-mailed to law enforcement....
