On Oprah's Wednesday 'voting party' show featuring very important celebrities like P. Diddy (Vote or Die!), Drew Barrymore, Christina Aguilera, svelte suffragette Cameron Diaz took to shock tactics to get the female vote out. After a discussion on lynching and the vote, Diaz spoke of the dire consequences for women if they sit out this election: Ms. DIAZ: We have a voice now, and we're not using it, and women have so much to lose. I mean, we could lose the right to our bodies. We could lo--if you think that rape should be legal, then don't vote. But if...

Michael Isikoff, the left-wing journalist most famous for getting scooped on The Story of the Decade by Matt Drudge, is exiting NBC News ... It was during his time with Newsweek that Isikoff became yet-another icon of a mainstream media more interested in protecting power than holding power accountable. In 1998, Isikoff had uncovered the affair between then-President Bill Clinton and a young intern named Monica Lewinski. Newsweek, however, refused to publish the story. So Drudge did -- not the story but the news that Newsweek was refusing to explode its own bombshell... -- and an era in New Media...

Checking Breitbart News before bed last night (I'm both an employee and a fan), I thought I knew exactly what had happened based on the headline of Matthew Boyle's story about Matt Drudge paying a "Liberty Tax." Based on a previous tweet, I was already aware that Drudge  was not going to enroll in ObamaCare. Therefore, I simply assumed he had filed his quarterly business taxes in advance, used Twitter to announce he had chosen to pay the ObamaCare fine, and in turn this had caused outrage from the Obama White House and Left.

The real story of the three results from Tuesday night is not that Rick Santorum picked up some wins -- though that is big. No, the real story is that three states held votes and nobody came. Newt Gingrich better hope voters who lapped up his delicious hits on the “elite media” and liberals don’t read the Drudge Report this morning. Or the National Review. Or the American Spectator. Or Ann Coulter. If they do, Gingrich comes off looking like a dangerous, anti-Reagan, Clintonian fraud. It’s as if the conservative media over the past 24 hours decided Gingrich is for real, and they need to come clean about the man they really know before it’s too late.

I know that Drudge hired Romneybots Joe Curl and Charles Hurt to help him with his election coverage for 2012. But looking at the hysteria going on at the Drudge Report right now, it looks like Ann Coulter has joined Curl and Hurt in running the site. What the heck is going on over there?

It is always here in the birthplace of the Civil War that things go bump in the night for presidential campaigns. In 2000, John McCain’s surge for the GOP nomination was derailed by rumors he had a love child. Four years ago, Bill Clinton injected race into the Democratic nomination in an effort to derail Barack Obama’s juggernaut campaign in South Carolina. But all the shady twists and turns of the past were nothing compared with the Spanish moss-draped soap opera that has unfolded here in the past week.

Matt Drudge has been called many things but, unless I am mistaken, a stock market seer is not one of them. On Wednesday, someone did just that. Or, to be more specific, someone suggested that the Drudge Report is a contrary indicator. Same difference, really. Drudge made his name covering Monica and the blue dress, and continues to be a player in the political conversation. Anybody familiar with his site knows there's one big link at the top of it, and when he links, traffic follows. The enduring nature of his influence is awe-inspiring. And that's all he does, if...
  • Why Is Drudge Linking to Alex Jones's "Info Wars" Site?

As I normally do on a daily basis I visited the Drudge Report. On the left hand column there are three links regarding Texas Governor Rick Perry. The first link is this: National Journal: Perry Road Tests Stump SpeechThe second link is this: NBC NEWS:Perry: Stand Up and Stop ApolgizingThe third link? Infowars.com.: Bilderberg Approved Perry Set To Become GOP FrontrunnerThis is apparently not the first time Drudge has linked to that charlatan Alex Jones, but this piece is absolutely ridiculous. Drudge loses credibility by linking such crap on his site. First there's the title. Rick Perry if he gets in...

Does not Bill O’Reilly KNOW that Matt Drudge puts his finger on the pulse of the USA? In this interview of Mark Halperin by Mr. O’Reilly last night about the issue of race, President Barak Obama and the horrible Gulf of Mexico BP/Deepwater Horizon rig explosion, sinking, and oil spill with the issue of race. This interview was based on a headline report by Matt Drudge at Drudgereport yesterday and with the theme, “Obama Goes Street”. From the interview, Mr. Halperin, and the interview by Mr. O’Reilly, had thought the Mr. Drudge was playing on the race issue in light...
  • Letterman Curses Out Andrew Breitbart On National TV; Drudge And Fox News Attacked (video)

David Letterman, speaking to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on his show, asked about the Shirley Sherrod incident and took it upon himself to slam Andrew Breitbart. At one point during the interview he asked her “how much time, energy was wasted on this a*shole ****ing around?” Maddow described Breitbart as a “spinoff from Matt Drudge, from the Drudge Report.” Breitbart, indeed, used to serve as an editor of the Drudge Report, but her intentions in mentioning the Drudge Report probably amount to the effectiveness of the site to sway public debate– not to mention millions of viewers visiting per day....
  • O'Reilly Interviews Halperin About "Drudge Report" Headline On Obama's "Ass To Kick" Comment

TIME's Mark Halperin implies the Drudge Report is racist for running the headline "Obama Goes Street: Seeking 'Ass To Kick.'" "You know Matt Drudge ... Matt Drudge knew exactly what he was doing with that headline," Halperin said on FOX News' "O'Reilly Factor." "He thought it was cool and hip, but he knew full well that it was provocative and racial ... he knows how to tap into the sentiment of his readers," Halperin added. O'Reilly wasn't buying that criticism of President Obama is based on his skin color.

Journalism can reinvent itself without government 'help' The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is seeking ways to "reinvent" journalism, and that's a cause for concern. According to a May 28 draft proposal, the agency thinks government should be at the center of a media overhaul. The bureaucracy sees it as a problem that the Internet has introduced a wealth of information options to consumers, forcing media companies to adapt and experiment to meet changing market needs. FTC's policy staff fears this new reality. "There are reasons for concern that experimentation may not produce a robust and sustainable business model for commercial...
