Benghazi, Libya (CNN) -- Libyan opposition leaders received a major morale boost Friday as a top U.S. senator made a surprise visit to the rebel stronghold of Benghazi and urged greater American involvement in the bloody campaign to oust longtime strongman Moammar Gadhafi. The visit from Arizona Sen. John McCain came a day after the United States said it was deploying predator drones to Libya. (snip) He said he was against U.S. troops on the ground -- echoing Obama administration policy -- but argued that Western powers need to do more to "facilitate" the delivery of weapons and training for...

...my nutshell case for why McCain was functionally a Democrat: As a war hero who's hawkish on foreign policy, he more than matches Bush on the military front. As a reform-minded foe of corporate welfare, Big Tobacco, and the Republican right, he is peerless. McCain is Bush's most vociferous critic, voted against the president's tax cut, forced his hand on campaign finance reform, and federalized airport security in the face of White House opposition. He has co-sponsored numerous bills with Democrats--many of them in the presidential-aspirant class--requiring background checks at gun shows (Lieberman), a patients' bill of rights (Edwards), better...

After using the "worse crisis since the great depression" to help get him elected, Obama is now making the turn that with "the economy is not so bad now." In September Obama critized McCain for "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" comment and used the image of McCain will continue the "failed" policies of the Bush Adm.

I am a Reagan Conservative. I came of age in my political thought during Reagan’s rise and was inspired by his faith in people and the love of our Country. I think it was Reagan who said, “If people have a choice between a Democrat and a Democrat, they will always choose the Democrat”. What I always took this to mean is People will always chose the candidate who held strong beliefs in core political values over the middle of the road candidate. The choice in this election is between a Democrat and a democrat (little d intentional). It is...

The Cincinnati Enquirer: This is a time for a president with deep experience and proven character, a president who thrives in the great, good, honest middle ground in which most Americans live, a president forthright enough to tell us what we'd rather not hear, a president with the courage to follow his convictions and the grit to persevere. This is Sen. John McCain's time. ... McCain offers up his compelling biography as a war hero, his admirable candor and his centrist independence in an increasingly polarized political environment. A McCain administration would chart a wiser course on the economy than...

One flaw of the political campaigning process is that it tends focus too much on current events, today’s votes and today’s international crisis. Yet the person we select as president will lead our nation for the next four years through national and international turmoil that we cannot yet envision. Our next president needs to have more than quick, glib answers to the question of the day. Our next president needs experience and values that will lead him, and our nation, through the challenges ahead. John McCain is the best choice to lead our nation. McCain offers the depth of experience...

"Overall, 12% of voters remain persuadables who favor one candidate or the other but could change their mind. Those, plus the 3% who remain undecided, are the target audience for both candidates in tonight’s debate." Don't allow the media progandist polls to fulfill their intent-which is to disspirit you. And there's one sure fire way to close these polls overnight- and that's to allow Gov. Palin to give a national address, prime time. When Gov. Palin has appeared on national tv, unfiltered, we get a bump in the polls. McCain Camp, get "Prime Time Palin"- on national tv.

As the Democrats try to counter the effective rolling out of Bill Ayers to the voters by now playing the race card, the McCain camp has been given a golden opportunity. While McCain has refused to talk about Reverand Wright and disavowed earlier ads the North Carolina Republican Party ran featuring the hate filled Reverand's sermons, McCain can now say it's fair game. Why? To demonstrate to the voters that the real racists are the Obama, the Democrats and their supporters. Reverand Wright, Louis Farrakahn, and Father Faggler are visual evidence of the hate whitey and Jews that oozes from...

Channel 73 on the Dish Network is now The Obama Channel. Obama's media buying strategy has been marked by a willingness to work the angles, and to try to pick up a few votes at the margins. The decision to go to everything from extensive radio buys to odd-hour infomercials reflects the fact that the campaign media buyers spend a lot of time thinking about how much persuasion any given dollar can buy, and given a very cheap format -- late night cable channels that need filler, for instance -- will settle for a thimblefull of persuasion. The satellite channel...

With the days ever so short to the election are the American people willing to overlook a man with a voting record on abortion and gay activism that looks like the quintessential liberal doctrinal manifesto. Can we all just whistle on the way to the polls knowing one of the candidates has had long and intimate associations with bombers, (Ayers) racist pastors, (Wright) preachers of hate. (Farrakhan) Thanks to the AP we at least have been well warned of the GOP’s nefarious flower loving, fish eating VP candidate whose backyard they have assured us has yet to be cleaned up....

"Religion: Islam" —Ace AP CAPTION: 20 months ago: This registration document, made available on Jan. 24, 2007, by the Fransiskus Assisi school in Jakarta, Indonesia, shows the registration of Barack Obama under the name Barry Soetoro into the Catholic school made by his step-father, Lolo Soetoro. The document lists Barry Soetoro as a Indonesian citizen, born on August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, and shows his Muslim step-father listed the boy's religion as Islam.(AP Photo/ Tatan Syuflana) Truth Squad this. If prosecutors are going to threaten those who "lie" about Obama, I guess we'll just have to start preparing the truth-is-a-defense-to-libel...

This NEEDS to get out. Obama keeps saying that he will only raise taxes on people making over $250K. What he leaves out is he wants to DOUBLE the corporate tax rate. McCain/Palin needs to explain that raising corporate taxes raises the cost for EVERYONE. They use examples like food corporations, gas companies, service companies, etc. Ask the question during rallies, "What do you think would happen to the price of goods and services when you double the tax on the companies providing them?" Bottom line... COMPANIES DON'T PAY TAXES, PEOPLE DO!

Annoyed by all the mind-games and leaks meant to divert attention from their candidate's long-anticipated acceptance speech tonight, Barack Obama's campaign is hitting back this afternoon and accusing their counterparts of playing political games. "Tonight would be political malpractice," Obama communications chief Dan Pfeiffer told Politico. "It's one more piece of evidence that the McCain campaign is a war room masquerading as a presidential campaign." Pfeiffer did, however, call McCain's bluff. "If they do it, I will pay all of McCain's mortgages next month," he quipped. McCain, as Pfeiffer well knows, has no mortgages on the numerous properties and he...

Nevada voters favor Republican John McCain over Democrat Barack Obama, but a sizable number who plan to vote remain undecided about the presidential race, according to a new Review-Journal poll. As both parties aim to put the diverse and growing swing state into play, McCain has taken the lead by a margin of 46 percent to Obama's 39 percent, with 15 percent undecided, according to the poll. The poll, conducted in concert with other news organizations in six Western states, found McCain enjoying an edge throughout his home region. Taken as a whole, voters in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico,...

Paris Hilton just cut an ad promoting her comprehensive energy plan. Watch it, hilarious! www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-Ge25_Udec Here's McCain campaign's reponse. In the unkindest cut of all, McCain’s spokesperson Tucker Bounds tells TMZ that on the subject of energy, Paris is deeper than Barack. He says, “Sounds like Paris is taking the ‘All of the Above’ energy approach that John McCain has advocated — both alternatives and drilling. Perhaps the reality is that Paris has a more substantive energy plan than Barack Obama.”

Just checked John McCain's 'The One' Ad's youtube version. It has already generated 463,872 hits in less than 24 hours. A huge success. I also did a bit google news search using 'The One' as key words, there are at least 150 papers such as NYT/Washington Post/Foxnews/CNN etc reported 'The One'.

In Panama City, Florida, today, per ABC News Bret Hovell, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., said of his new web video mocking Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, as a false messiah, "we were having some fun. We were having some fun with our supporters that we sent it out to and we're gonna display a sense of humor in this campaign. I noticed a couple of days ago that Senator Obama challenged me to a duel. Well, light sabers is my weapon of choice. "But seriously if we have differences, we should have appeared at the Urban League convention today," McCain continued....

Monday, July 21, 2008 Email to a FriendAdvertisement The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows Barack Obama attracting 42% of the vote while John McCain earns 41%. That’s the lowest level of support measured for Obama since he clinched the Democratic Presidential nomination on June 3. Obama’s support peaked at 48% with data released on June 8, 9, and 10. During that same time frame, McCain’s support has remained steady in the 40% to 42% range (he’s had just one day a point below that range and two days a point above it). When "leaners" are included,...

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/florida/election_2008_florida_presidential_election Rasmussen Reports conducted a special Florida survey to measure the immediate impact of the offshore drilling issue on the Presidential race. As one part of the survey, respondents were told that McCain favored offshore drilling and said it would bring down the price of gas and oil. They were also told that Barack Obama opposed offshore drilling and said it would not bring down the price of gas and oil. After hearing the views of both McCain and Obama, most Florida voters agreed with McCain--61% said it was likely that offshore drilling would reduce gas prices. Only 34% disagreed...

ABC News/Washington Post poll...: If everything is so good for Barack Obama, why isn't everything so good for Barack Obama? Obama has less of a head-to-head advantage against McCain than these views would imply. Obama leads by a fairly narrow 6 points; among those most likely to vote the two are locked in a dead heat. no bounce from Obama's victory in the long-fought Democratic nomination campaign. Obama...his support relies heavily on young adults, whose turnout on Election Day is far less reliable than their elders'. He leads McCain by more than a 2-1 margin among Americans under 30; that...

This general election campaign is getting off to a rollicking start. From McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds: It was remarkable to see Barack Obama’s hysterical diatribe in response to a speech in which his name wasn’t even mentioned. These are serious issues that deserve a serious debate, not the same tired partisan rants we heard today from Senator Obama. Senator Obama has pledged to unconditionally meet with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- who pledges to wipe Israel off the map, denies the Holocaust, sponsors terrorists, arms America’s enemies in Iraq and pursues nuclear weapons. What would Senator Obama talk about with...

New Rasmussen Florida poll: McCain 53 Obama 38 McCain 44 Clinton 45 The battle over Florida’s convention delegates may be taking its toll on Barack Obama’s prospects in the Sunshine State. For the second time in three months, John McCain enjoys a double digit lead over the Democratic frontrunner. I think Florida is very solid in R column if Obama is the nominee. Jews and Latinos will abandon him in droves. I have a feeling McCain will win PA in the end. OH is tougher than PA. The bxxxtch is definitely a more formidable opponent than Dukakis Obama. Fortunately she...

If the general election is McCain or Obama…. You can vote for one of those two, not vote for President, write in (which is the same as not voting), or vote third party I will NEVER vote for McCain, you can take that to the bank! If you feel the same way, that leaves us with: Don’t vote, Write in, third party or OBAMA… Not voting buys me nothing, write in or third party may make me feel a little better but unless the third part ticket is FRED/DUNCAN I don’t see myself going that route... But I’m toying with...
