Military personnel at the Los Angeles Air Force Base were treated to a Diversity Day musical performance featuring three individuals dressed in drag. … Photographs of the event show an individual wearing a giant wig performing to a sparse crowd underneath the American flag. It’s unclear whether the individuals in high heels and form-fitting dresses are members of the Air Force. Observes one airman: “We can’t even have Bibles on our desks. This base is not a platform for political agendas. It is a military installation. The display was totally inappropriate and offensive.” Good thing they kept his name out...

Potential 2016 presidential contender Donald Trump spoke to ABC's Jonathan Karl Sunday morning and reignited the birther issue that he helped spark back in 2011, questioning the legitimacy of Barack Obama's birth certificate and wondering whether Ted Cruz, who was born in Canada, was eligible to president. "Was there a birth certificate?" Trump asked. "You tell me. Some people say that was not his birth certificate. I'm saying I don't know. Nobody knows. And you don't know, either, Jonathan. You're a smart guy, you don't know, either." "I'm pretty convinced he was born in the United States," Karl said. "Ah!...

President Obama took his case for ending the sequester to hundreds of disabled veterans Saturday, saying he protected their benefits from the “reckless” cuts to the federal budget but suggesting next year might be different. “It’s hurting our military. I made it clear that your veteran’s benefits are exempt from this year’s sequester,” the president said to the applause of hundreds at the Disabled American Veterans' convention in Orlando, Fla. “But I want to tell you going forward the best way to protect the VA care you have earned is to get rid of this sequester altogether.” The president...

ARE YOU TOO BUSY FOR GOD? This means we must commit ourselves to hearing the Lord's voice. How else can we know and do the will of our Heavenly Father? It means that we have a particular commitment to the God-ordained transformation that needs to occur within us so that we may reflect the King of Glory's character. When we decide to be open to the Lord of Heaven, He transforms our lives, and we experience a quietness in our spirit, a confidence in our heart, a dogged determination in our mind, and an increasing...

To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd. You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low. You are my lamp, O LORD; the LORD turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall. (2 Samuel 22:26-30)

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) recently expressed his concern about Sarah Palin someday becoming president and having control over the information gathered by the U.S government about Americans citizens. In an interview with Shark-Tank.net, Rep. Grayson said he has introduced a bill, 'The Mind Your Own Business Act,' that would ban the U.S. Department of Defense from gathering Internet, phone and other personal information about U.S. citizens without probable cause or evidence of a criminal offense, which is what the Fourth Amendment is supposed to do. Rep. Grayson explained how 'The Mind Your Own Business Act' was modeled "very closely after...

Freshman Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) dismissed a question about President Barack Obama’s birth certificate Thursday, calling it a “dead issue” that he doesn’t “give a sh*t” about. Mullin took a question during a town hall meeting in his Oklahoma district from a woman who identified herself as a “birther princess” and asked about “Obama’s identification fraud.” “You’re talking about the birth certificate?” Mullin responded, according to video of the exchange posted by liberal website Think Progress. “We lost that argument on November 6. We had four years to get that proven, we didn’t, we re-elected him, so that’s a dead...

The accused Fort Hood shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, began his court-martial Tuesday admitting he's guilty. "The evidence will clearly show that I am the shooter," said Hasan, who faces 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted murder for those he wounded. But because this is a death penalty case, the Army won't allow Hasan to plead guilty. Hasan, an American-born Muslim, also described himself as mujahedeen. Witnesses say that he yelled "Allahu akbar" ("God is great") as he opened fire on a roomful of unarmed service members. Hope the Pentagon was listening. To date, the Department...

President Barack Obama has continued slow-walking a visa application from an Afghan translator who helped a Medal of Honor recipient save American lives, the Washington Free Beacon reports. “Four years ago, an Afghan translator known as ‘Hafez’ [a pseudonym used to protect his true identity] charged into enemy fire to help Marine Corporal Dakota Meyer rescue wounded American soldiers during one of the most famous battles in the Afghanistan war,” the Free Beacon’s Alana Goodman wrote on Wednesday. “Meyer received the Medal of Honor for his courage in the battle of Ganjgal--the first living Marine to receive the honor since...

FORT HUACHUCA — Department of Defense civil service employees received good news Tuesday when they were informed nearly half of the furlough days they expected to have to take before the end of September were cut. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel said instead of 11 days taken without pay it would be reduced to six, meaning civil service employees working for the military will not have to take five days off sans salary. So, instead of the employees facing a 20 percent loss of pay from July 9 to Sept. 30, the cut will be slightly more than 10 percent....

The defense budget has always been collateral damage in the great budget debate over the relative merits of entitlement reform and tax increases. The current deficit is projected to total some $642 billion in 2013. The combination of cuts to the defense budget mandated by the fiscal year 2011 Budget Control Act (BCA) and those imposed by the sequester amount to less than $85 billion, that is, they account for no more than a 14 percent reduction of the 2013 deficit. Clearly, defense does not provide a solution to the annual deficit, much less to the seemingly endless growth...

For U.S. veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a service dog can be a life line, bringing them back to normalcy and helping them feel safe again. And, for nearly 100 veterans and counting, that’s just what non profit organization, K9s for Warriors, has done. Founded in 2011 by Shari Duval, whose own son suffered from PTSD after two tours in Iraq, K9s for Warriors trains service dogs and pairs them with veterans struggling with PTSD. But these service dogs have had struggles of their own. They’re abandoned or homeless dogs that have been rescued from shelters and trained...

The recommendations in the Department of Defense’s latest strategic review would produce both a hollow and aging military unable to engage in simultaneous conflicts involving U.S. interests, defense budget experts said Tuesday. The experts spoke at the Brookings Institution about the Pentagon’s efforts to prepare for $500 billion in spending cuts during the next decade due to budget sequestration. Mackenzie Eaglen, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, noted that the sequestration cuts come on the heels of about $1 trillion in military spending reductions already enacted under President Barack Obama’s administration. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel discussed the...

Almost every day, two Army helicopters land at the Bell County Jail to pick up the man known as the “inmate of high value." Maj. ON PRAYER The Sacred Scriptures urge us to pray always. That seems impossible at first sight; you can't spend your life on your knees. But people pray in many ways. Physical positions and movements, the lotus position for Buddhists, kneeling and folding hands for many Christian faith groups, are prayer. Any attention paid to God is prayer. Whether or not any words are spoken, the actions themselves express awareness of, and communication with, God. As St. Teresa of Avila put it, way back in the 16th century, "For though we are always in the presence...

And the mission of this bomber hastened the end of the most deadly war in the 20th century, if not in human history - World War Two. (For an interesting set of statistics of causalities of war by...

National Rifle Association board member Ted Nugent endorsed the conspiracy theory that President Obama's birth certificate is a forgery in his regular column for conspiracy website WND. Riffing on a recent claim by Obama that his critics promote "phony scandals" involving his administration, Nugent wrote in his July 31 column that "more of us believe in the American hero Sheriff Joe Arpaio's thorough investigation into your phony birth certificate and phony history than the phony media's smoke and mirrors." In July 2012 Arpaio, a controversial Arizona sheriff, announced that a "Cold Case Posse" under his direction determined that Obama's "long-form...

George Zimmerman's brother is trying to warn Trayvon Martin's family about the additional pain and suffering they could go through if they try to bring a wrongful death civil suit against his acquitted brother.
