During Sunday’s Good Morning America, ABC finally became worried about “skyrocketing” illegal immigration and the strain on resources. But it was not illegal immigration into the United States they were fretting about, but that into Canada. “Illegally crossing the border, fueled by fears after recent immigration raids and uncertainty over President Trump's executive order,” announced co-anchor Dan Harris during the opening tease, “Can Canada handle this new influx?” “Yeah, we're watching scenes of immigrants and their families, with young children, fleeing the U.S., crossing illegally, all hoping to begin the process of emigrating there as refugees,” co-anchor Paula Faris reiterated...

Mattis met with defense officials from the 27 other NATO member nations in Brussels and made his first address to the alliance as U.S. defense secretary. In the speech, he called the NATO alliance the “fundamental bedrock for the U.S. and all the transatlantic community,” according to CNN. However, because only five of the member nations currently meet the spending target — 2 percent of their gross domestic product...

As cities across Ontario finalize their budgets and try to squeeze out savings to expand public transit, something doesn't add up. Too many cities, including Toronto, are missing out on hundreds of millions in savings. That's because Ontario has a labour law loophole that's putting cities, companies and taxpayers at a huge disadvantage. The heated debate over road tolls in Toronto has distracted from a far simpler way of saving for public transit expansion. Here it is: Change the way construction projects are tendered. Right now, Toronto and too many other municipalities including Hamilton, Sault Ste. Marie and the Region...

It’s no secret that Millennials have a much looser – pun intended – view of sex and commitment than prior generations, following a change in social norms that now seem to place higher value on things like “strong, independent women” than on committed long-term relationships or the notion of waiting until marriage to become intimate. Chelsea Manning was convicted of leaking classified information (up to 700,000 documents) obtained while serving as an Army intelligence analyst that included diplomatic cables and troop locations, to the Wiki-Leaks website . House Speaker Paul Ryan described President Obama’s move as “outrageous” and “a dangerous precedent that those who compromise our national security won’t be held accountable for their crimes,” and that “Manning’s treachery put American lives at stake and exposed some of our most sensitive secrets. We are a nation of laws and the laws need to be upheld. What Chelsea Manning did was treasonous and the commutation by...

I agree with Starbucks’ plan to hire 10,000 refugees Starbucks recently announced that it will hire 10,000 refugees worldwide over the next five years.I agree with Starbucks. It is extremely important for refugees to be assimilated into their new home. Besides learning the language of their new home, obtaining a job is the most important part of this assimilation.Refugees – real refugees, that is – are fleeing from horrifying atrocities that most of us cannot comprehend.A real refugee is someone who is very much opposed to the policies of the country from which they fled. A real refugee does not try to...
  • The Vetting Process - From Legitimate Tool to Impossible Dream

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk about “vetting” people coming in from the Middle East. In fact, however, it’s a much broader issue than that: it’s a need to vet people who come into the USA from anywhere. While any risk can theoretically originate anywhere, statistically, each region has different primary risks. From some countries, it’s a human trafficking and prostitution risk; from others, it’s a drug trade and organized crime risk. But of course the one most in the news is the terrorism risk, which originates primarily in muslim-majority countries (like the middle east) and...
  • Think Twice before Robbing this Store

What happens when you bring a fight to a gun store When two men entered the Dixie Gun and Pawn at 11 am to rob the place, it's hard to tell what they were thinking. Were they aiming for a store next door? Did they really think they had a foolproof plan? Were they just bored and looking to spice up their lives? They tried to wave guns, and one man even tried to pull a second handgun, but they neglected the thought that maybe, just maybe, the store clerk at the Dixie GUN and pawn might also be carrying...
  • Apparently, NYT reporter Maggie Haberman never heard of Boston Marathon bombing, shoe bomber, etc.

Apparently, New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman has never heard of the Boston Marathon bombing, the shoe bomber, the underwear bomber, the D.C. snipers, etc. New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman recently tweeted the following question:“Other than San Bernardino shootings, has there been a terrorist attack involving a non-US-born attacker since 9/11?” I usually say that asking questions is a good thing, because I am very much in favor of curiosity and learning. However, for a New York Times reporter to ask such a question in the year 2017 is actually a bad thing, not a good thing. For this person with...
  • Clinton Was Trump on Immigration Make A Wall, in 1995 State of Union

YT comment "...With all the overblown 2016 election rhetoric it's instructive to watch Bill Clintion's 1995 State of the Union Address. Actually the Clintons and seemingly a bipartisan Congress all supported steps to stop the flow of illegal immigrants across the southern U.S.-Mexico border. Suddenly in 2016 it has become controversial as the Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton decided she needed to stake out a position opposite of Donald Trump, now labeling the position as racist or unworkable. However, as this video shows, at one time there was bipartisan agreement on steps needed to enforce existing immigration law. What do you...
  • Liberal hypocrites never complained about how O’s refugee policy discriminated against Christians

Liberal hypocrites never complained about how Obama’s Syrian refugee policy discriminated against Christians Liberals – justifiably so – have been complaining about how Trump wants to discriminate against Muslim immigrants. However, these same liberals were completely silent when Obama discriminated against Christian immigrants.Christians make up 10% of Syria’s population, and they are being specifically targeted by ISIS.However, on November 30, 2015, it was reported that during the previous two weeks (i.e., the two weeks immediately after Islamic terrorists murdered 130 people in Paris) of the 132 Syrian refugees that the Obama administration had admitted into the U.S., 100% of them were Muslim,...
  • Watch: Amazing time-lapse captures the massive crowd marching through D.C. at the March for Life

It’s unclear how many people marched in the streets of Washington D.C. on Friday in support of life, but one time-lapse by Students for Life of America attempted to capture the magnitude of the march. In time-lapse videos posted to Facebook and Twitter, the organization was able to show exactly what mainstream media organizations failed to show: that hundreds of thousands of people were marching on Washington in support of life and against abortion.
