Is it a coincidence that all of my nightmares occur in big cities? While it may be a personality glitch, I find that considering the dangers you face in the event of an emergency while living in a city, my nightmares may be justified. If you live in a city – buckle up. As a prepper you will have to work extra hard to make your emergency plan viable. And while I make no judgments on city dwellers, I must say – MOVE! For your own safety – MOVE! Move, move, move, move, move. Okay. I think I got it...

Rich Teeter, a drummer who played with punk pioneers the Dictators and later served a short stint with Twisted Sister, has died, reports. He was 61. The sad news comes via Dictators Forever, Forever Dictators, a blog devoted to the legendary New York City band Teeter joined in 1976. The timekeeper played on two albums, Manifest Destiny (1977) and Bloodbrothers (1979), and occasionally took part in reunion shows. According to Loudwire, his last performance with the band likely came in 1991. As a member of Twister Sister, Teeter stuck around only for a few months, occupying the throne from...

LifeSiteNews is reporting that the Cardinal Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Schönborn , received a letter from the Vatican demanding action, after ten months of "discussion" between the Cardinal and the dissent group calling itself the "Austrian Priests' Initiative." The dissent group issued a manifesto last year demanding that the Church change her teachings on the ordination of women and married clergy and the reception of Communion by non-Catholics and divorced and remarried persons, and calling on their fellow clergy to disobey the Vatican. LifeSiteNews is reporting that, "the Cardinal himself has also publicly called for the Church to acquiesce to...

He didn't fold his arms across his chest and "mean mug" on the tee box. He didn't turn his back while his partners putted, and scowl as he walked the fairways. If you like food as much as I do, it’s hard to imagine that our body can actually go weeks without food. It wouldn’t be fun, of course, but it can be done. But without water, our bodies can get into serious trouble quickly – just a matter of days before dehydration can set in. So why is it that many people keep lots of extra food stored in their houses, but neglect to store any water? This subject came to mind recently when my cousin told me about having to endure a power outage with no drinkable water. Since...

Former Governors, Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee, were not best buds during the 2008 campaign. No one doubts that. But since Governor Huckabee decided not to run for president this time around, it seems as if they have fixed whatever ailed their relationship. Governor Romney has appeared on Huckabee’s show, and Huckabee regularly defends Romney against unfair attacks and appears even-handed even when he disagrees with Romney. That is all well and good, and demonstrates the good will and kind demeanor of both governors. However, Romney’s position on the murder of unborn children has not changed since his official declaration...

At its root, atheism is always a negation of God and every such negation presupposes His affirmation. Rather than saying 'God does not exist,' a more sophisticated form of atheism will assert that 'Man is God, humanity is God, God is immanent in human history and in the lives of individuals.' I keep hearing statements about how expensive it is to prep. Although it is not cheap it doesn’t have to be that expensive either. You do not need to stock 20 years worth of food to be properly prepared. As a matter of fact I would advise against it. Stockpiling a large food and water supply means you have to stay put and defend it. That may not be your best option in a lot of scenarios which means you would lose that investment. Do you think you really have enough ammo to defend a 20 year food supply for...

He posed his offensive question Friday to OWS protesters in New York City, where he and his terrorist cohort and wife, Bernadine Dohrn, lectured young minds on the dangers of a militarily strong United States. The unrepentant terrorist and former leader of the violent and radical group, the Weather Underground, doesn’t understand why we, in America, show deference to those who protect our freedom. Though in apparent self-defense, many are demanding the shooter, George Zimmerman, be arrested. In lieu of such action, some are vowing to apply their brand of street justice. Unfortunately, they have an ally in President Obama. Speaking before reporters outside the White House on Friday, March 23, Obama implied Martin was a victim of a racially-motivated murder and cover-up. It’s easy to get carried away, looking at depressing statistics and thinking the worst of them, and be frustrated with the Democratic leadership’s seeming lack of concern for the well-being of the American people. But perhaps we shouldn’t look at these issues one by one, but rather, consider them as a whole, as a “total package”, as they do, and then they might indeed make more sense. Reading this, one can almost hear Helen Reddy singing out the strains of “I am woman, hear me roar.” Insofar as the concept of feminism is concerned, I can’t seriously believe that anyone, male or female, living in present-day America can argue with feminism’s goals.
