Mozilla is joining the fight against "fake news" with a new initiative designed to combat the spread of misinformation on the Internet, the company announced Wednesday. In a post on its blog, the company said it is launching the Mozilla Information Trust Initiative, a four-pronged project that focuses on product, literacy, research and creative interventions. Through the initiative, Mozilla plans to forge partnerships to develop technology combatting misinformation, invest in web literacy programs to address misinformation, research the impact misinformation has on a person's online experiences, and fund technologists who are fighting misinformation. Its all-powerful Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) was the wave of the future, we were told over and over again.</p>
