Democrats in Congress appear to be taking full advantage of the "pay to play" system they said led to a "climate of corruption" under Republicans, an ABC News investigation has found. Deputy James Mee, the arresting officer in the now famous Mel Gibson DUI case, is the subject of an investigation. The investigation involves the possible leaking to the media of confidential information relating to the pending (at the time) investigation of Gibson. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has confirmed to the entertainment reporting network TMZ, that a search warrant was obtained for a raid of Deputy Mee's residence. I just got a Census update in the mail from our local Gov't. They noted I was 'randomly selected' and was very important that I respond to their request. And if I didn't respond, they would do a follow-up. Bring it on ... I put in a note saying I WILL NOT provide any information about myself or family until the Gov't (local and national) takes substantive steps to curb illegal immigration. I've had it folks. If I get anymore RNC fundraising letters I'm going to do the same.

THE LOS ANGELES TIMES reported the development in Tuesday’s editions. Several media outlets have applied to have several documents on the investigation unsealed. The Times reported that Bryant’s attorneys filed a 23-page brief objecting to the release of any documents.
