    01/17/2012 5:37:26 PM PST · by trooprally · 18 replies
I had to laugh when I opened the photobucket file for this week. [Mrs] T said that she didn’t take a lot of pictures. But only FIVE - it just made me laugh. Part of the reason was that the camera got so cold so quick that the batteries lost their umph. The other reason was [Mrs] T’s trigger finger also got real cold even though she was layered with foot and hand warmers. How cold was it? 25 degrees with a moderate wind. Do I hear violins from some of you in North Dakota? I bet you do not...

BELOW: And for our special occasion, we brought the MOAB out. iMacMan and I are putting it together. We were told NO donuts or hot chocolate until it is up. Weather was nice out today, at least at the start. While setting up I had my jacket off. After a while the wind picked up...
  • A Fine for Not Using a Biofuel That Doesn’t Exist

    New York Times ^ | Jan 9, 2012 | Matthew L Wald
WASHINGTON — When the companies that supply motor fuel close the books on 2011, they will pay about $6.8 million in penalties to the Treasury because they failed to mix a special type of biofuel into their gasoline and diesel as required by law. But there was none to be had. Outside a handful of laboratories and workshops, the ingredient, cellulosic biofuel, does not exist. In 2012, the oil companies expect to pay even higher penalties for failing to blend in the fuel, which is made from wood chips or the inedible parts of plants like corncobs. Refiners were required...

Seven Patriots supported our troops in Olney this morning of New Year’s Eve. Our special guest today was 3DJoy who brought up some warm southern temps for the DC area the past 10 days. Some spring bulbs even started to come up. While I was in the sun, I had to remove my jacket. Of course when the shade over took my spot, it got a little chilly and back on went the jacket. We also had a “newbie” today. Martin from [Mrs] T’s and Cindy_True_Supporter’s American Legion Post. Martin had such a good time waving, talking with every one...
  • The Five: Why Would Ron Paul Fill His Ad With Only Liberal Supporters?

Today on The Five, the gang discussed Sarah Palin’s talk of possible third party candidates and focused on Ron Paul. After Eric Bolling joked that Paul’s fans may be “too stoned” to make it to the polls, the topic of conversation turned to a recent ad for Paul which featured a number of liberal commentators. The hosts questioned whether it would be effective or simply a turn off. The ad, entitled “Believe,” will be airing in New Hampshire and Boston and features Ron Paul supporters talking up the candidate’s strengths and ideals. Amongst them are quotes and sound bites taken...

The New York Times ^ | 12/29/2011 | PAUL KRUGMAN
“The boom, not the slump, is the right time for austerity at the Treasury.” So declared John Maynard Keynes in 1937, even as F.D.R. was about to prove him right by trying to balance the budget too soon, sending the United States economy — which had been steadily recovering up to that point — into a severe recession. Slashing government spending in a depressed economy depresses the economy further; austerity should wait until a strong recovery is well under way. Unfortunately, in late 2010 and early 2011, politicians and policy makers in much of the Western world believed that they...

PETA has asked the Department of Transportation in Illinois to commemorate the spot where 16 cows lost their life on May 22 in a traffic accident says a report in the Chicago Tribune. The cows plunged from the back of a tractor trailer when it jackknifed on a bridge on an I-80 highway overpass. I’m wondering if we could just have a memorial BBQ. I’ll bring the grill. Now, before you start laughing remember: This is Illinois. Yes, that state. You know how people warn you about avoiding stupid mistakes by saying, “You don’t want to be that guy.”Well, ladies and...

Occupy Des Moines members said Monday that they have moved their protest from President Obama's campaign office to the Iowa Democratic Party headquarters. Protesters said they are "refusing to leave until Obama vetoes the National Defense Authorization Act and starts putting all the power of his office to bear on putting communities before corporations and people before profits." The Occupy movement had been camped outside the president's campaign office in Des Moines since Saturday. Occupiers said they want Obama to cut the U.S. military budget in half and "dismantle our U.S. military empire" to create jobs. Occupiers said they want...

As everyone is aware, winter is creeping closer. In the western parts of Maryland there has been several "measurable" snow falls. I know, several inches is nothing compared to some places, but here in Maryland, it is the talk of the day. The colder weather is still bearable but the wind today made it uncomfortable. The flags looked good though. BufordP - This flag is for you. On Sunday, the Green Bay Press-Gazette put a link on its Facebook page to an Associated Press story detailing state aid cuts to organizations that help victims of sexual abuse. After that story was posted, a reader left a comment expressing outrage that the state would cut such aid and asserted that perhaps Governor Scott Walker’s wife or children should become victims of sexual assault so the governor could see the how devastating the state aid cuts really are.

Earlier last week one of our American Legion supporters of our Support the Troops Rally in Olney died in an accident while on vacation in the Caribbean. Dennis, U.S. Army and Korean War Vet, was an frequent and welcomed supporter in Olney. Always friendly towards patriots, he did not like the moonbats’ message. He will be sorely missed. Armed with snarky signs and at least one false mustache, a group of about 10 anti-Occupy Portland protestors, who called themselves Un-Occupy Portland, stood near Ankeny Plaza to deliver a message to the Occupy movement: "We're seriously annoyed, and we want you to stop." As members of Occupy Portland gathered for a rally on the plaza, the Un-Occupy protestors held signs with sayings such as "We are the 98.999%. We are seriously annoyed with the 0.001%," "I'm bored and easily influenced," and "Un-Occupy Portland: The 98.999% for Portland Police, Taxpayers and the City's Budget."....

Hell no, we won’t go — unless we get goose down pillows. A key Occupy Wall Street leader and another protester who leads a double life as a businessman ditched fetid tents and church basements for rooms at a luxurious hotel that promises guests can “unleash [their] inner Gordon Gekko,” The Post has learned. The $700-per-night W Hotel Downtown last week hosted both Peter Dutro, one of a select few OWS members on the powerful finance committee, and Brad Spitzer, a California-based analyst who not only secretly took part in protests during a week-long business trip but offered shelter to...

The privileged Occupy kiddies of U.C. Berkeley were back in action again yesterday, play-acting at revolution to entertain their professors. The purported thesis of this particular Occupation is “more money for secondary education,” but that’s just a veneer (a very very thin veneer, as the above photo shows) for a more radical agenda....

For 302 Weeks patriots have been supporting our military in Olney. This Saturday a Navy Vet stopped by to THANK US with a bag of WARM egg ‘n cheese bagels.
