The Moorish Science Temple of America is an American national and religious organization founded by Noble Drew Ali (born as Timothy Drew). He based it on the premise that African Americans are descendants of the Moabites and thus are "Moorish" (sometimes also spelled "Muurish" by adherents) by nationality, and Islamic by faith. SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A group of people is walking up to families’ front doors in Snohomish County, saying they are the rightful owners of waterfront homes. The group has taken over homes in different parts of the country, claiming legal ownership of the land beneath it. In one case, they told a homeowner she was being evicted. LITTLE ROCK, AR – A couple sheriff’s deputies say claimed to be of Moorish nationality and exempt from state and federal laws is behind bars facing numerous charges. A Pulaski County Sheriff’s deputy stopped 34 year old Marco McCormick of Little Rock, on Arch Street near Kerry Road after noticing what appeared to be a make-shift car tag on his vehicle.
