Less than 24 hours after lowering prices of its 2023 Mustang Mach-E models in Canada, Ford Motor Company has followed suit in the US, reducing MSRPs of all trims to adapt to slower EV demand. Lease programs offer additional discounts in the US, making the Mach-E more affordable than ever. Additionally, Ford has added new incentives for the F-150 Lightning. It’s been over four years since Ford first unveiled the Mustang Mach-E – an all-electric crossover SUV that took one of its most celebrated nameplates and adapted it for the EV age (met with a mix of love and hate)....

A black family living in Los Angeles was horrified to discover their Ford Mustang defaced with a vile racial slur and swastikas over the holidays. Reginald Scott, who has lived in the San Pedro neighborhood for 20 years, told the station KTLA that his sports car was allegedly vandalized sometime between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. The unidentified alleged hatemonger used black spray paint to scrawl the words “Merry Christmas -----” in huge letters across the right side of the red Mustang. Swastikas were painted on the car’s bumper and its tires were also slashed.

WASHINGTON, May 2 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co (F.N) said on Tuesday it is cutting prices on its Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle and reopening orders after a series of price cuts by rival Tesla Inc (TSLA.O), the second time it has reduced prices this year. The No. 2 U.S. automaker said it is also increasing the range for standard-range battery models as it increases production in the second half of the year. Ford said it is cutting most Mach-E prices by $3,000 or $4,000 depending on the version or by as much as 7.8%. The price of the Mach-E Premium...
  • 2024 Ford Mustang Drops AM Radio From Infotainment

    03/09/2023 9:52:37 PM PST · by algore · 56 replies
Over the years, Ford's pony car has gained performance and sophistication, sometimes at the expense of old-school character. Now, the new 2024 Ford Mustang is getting further from its roots by losing its AM radio receiver as controversy over the technology's future in new cars escalates. The AM radio's discontinuation was discovered in an order guide for the new Mustang that circulated on the Mustang7G forum. A Ford spokesperson confirmed the feature's deletion to The Drive, citing that "countries and automakers globally are modernizing radio by offering internet streaming through mobile apps, FM, or digital." This makes the Mustang the...
  • Feds Revise EV Tax Credit Rules So More Vehicles Can Be Called SUVs

    02/03/2023 3:52:01 PM PST · by conservative98 · 11 replies
    - The U.S. Treasury Department today announced new vehicle classifications that will allow more vehicles to qualify as SUVs and get the newly updated EV tax credits. - The new rules consider the Cadillac Lyriq, the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Tesla Model Y, and others to be SUVs and thus eligible under a higher $80,000 MSRP limit. - The rules change is retroactive, so anyone who bought a vehicle since January 1, 2023, that now qualifies can claim the credit.

Ford Motor Co. will slash the price of its top electric vehicle, the Mustang Mach-E, after Tesla announced a series of major price cuts earlier this month. Ford on Monday announced price cuts ranging from $600 to $5,900 on certain Mach-E models. The American automaker added that it will “significantly” increase production of the electric SUV to reduce customer wait times and boost its market share. “We are not going to cede ground to anyone. We are producing more EVs to reduce customer wait times, offering competitive pricing and working to create an ownership experience that is second to none,”...

Ford is reportedly raising the price of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E electric vehicle by as much as $8,000 just a few weeks after increasing the price of its planned electric pickup truck the F-150 Lightning. Although the company blames inflation, supply chain problems, and “rapidly evolving market conditions,” the price hikes come just after Joe Biden’s climate and spending bill passed including electric vehicle rebates eerily similar to Ford’s price increases. The Verge reports that Ford is raising the price of the 2023 Mustang Mach-E just a few weeks after increasing the price of its electric pickup truck, the F-150...

Ford Motor Co.’s hot-selling Mustang Mach-E electric SUV and other plug-in models are being rendered unprofitable by rising raw material costs. “We actually had a positive bottom line profit when we launched the Mach-E, commodity costs have wiped that out,” Chief Financial Officer John Lawler said Wednesday at the Deutsche Bank Global Automotive Conference, referring to 2020, when the vehicle went on sale. “You’re going to see pressure on the bottom line when we launch our EVs, they’re not going to be positive.”

The Mustang and Camaro are the two of the biggest names in the muscle car world, and production of both vehicles is now temporarily suspended due to parts supply issues. Ford and General Motors both announced that they would be idling the factories that make the Mustang and the Camaro for one week, following issues with the parts supply chain. GM will be idling its Lansing Grand River Assembly facility which currently builds both the Camaro, Cadillac CT4, and CT5, which are all based on the same platform. GM did not specify what parts it was missing in order to...

The 2022 model year update adds BlueCruise hands-free highway driving assist and the exceedingly powerful GT trim level to Ford's already excellent Mustang Mach-E. The Mach-E GT turns up the wick on Ford's dual-motor, electric all-wheel drive. Regardless of whether you think the Mach-E deserves to be called a Mustang, most can agree that Ford's electric crossover is quite good. Joining the lineup this year is the Mustang Mach-E GT, which ups the EV's performance with lots of additional power. In GT Performance Edition spec, this EV is one of the quickest Mustangs Ford has ever built, second only to...

Do you ever look at the original Ford Mustang and find yourself wishing it had a little more — maybe a little spark? Well good news, engineers in the UK have heard your prayers and fixed the Mustang by giving it electric power. And, I love everything about it. This magical new creation comes from a small engineering firm called Charge Cars. It seems like the firm has seen your bloated Mustang Mach-E and decided we all need this absolute stunner instead. Called the Electric Mustang by Charge Cars, the new EV uses an “official licensed” shell that the firm...

In about two years from now, the Ford Mustang will be the last new car of its type still on the market – a fitting thing, given it was the first car of its type to come onto the market back in 1964. But it’s a sad communion – because it represents an end rather than a beginning. One as unnatural as Joe Biden’s hairline. The rivals whose existence the original 1964 Mustang prompted into existence – Chevy’s Camaro and the Dodge Challenger – are on their way out, again. Not because they aren’t selling but rather because forces conspire...
  • First 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 Prototype Up for Grabs

In July of last year, the Shelby GT350 “Ken Miles R-Model” Mustang Prototype sold for a hammer price of $3.5 million ($3.85 million with fees) at auction in Indianapolis, making it the most expensive Ford Mustang ever sold. For reasons unknown, the buyer has decided to flip it, and the iconic Mustang will be up for sale once again, this time at Mecum’s Kissimmee, Florida auction in January. This GT350R broke the record for world’s priciest Mustang that had been set by the 1968 Ford Mustang GT driven by Steve McQueen in the film Bullitt. It has an incredible pedigree;...

The Ford Mustang Mach-E just keeps gaining steam as the year goes on.We all knew it was coming—the day Ford would sell more of an electric car than it would its iconic Mustang. That day is here, and it's all the more painful for those who are V8 diehards. The reason why, exactly, is because the EV in question is the one that inherited the Mustang's name: the Mach-E. First confirmed in Ford's June sales report Friday morning, then observed by Automotive News' Michael Martinez on Twitter, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E outsold its pony car namesake last month, moving...

How was the only Ford Mustang with only 2 seats, known as “Shorty” saved? That is a story just like those written by the Brothers Grimm. In the early ‘60s, the company Ford planned to develope a sports version of the Mustang with two seats. But, at that time Ford was still influenced by the former conservative president Robert McNamara, so chances for the production of this model were minimal. From the drawing tables, this wonderful car turned into a functional prototype and with an interesting game of the destiny it managed to “survive”, although it was scheduled for destruction....
  • April 15, 1964 – Gail Wise is first to buy a Ford Mustang

On this day in 1964, two days before the Ford Mustang was officially supposed to go on sale, one mistakenly left the dealership. The lucky new owner, the first person to buy a Mustang , was Gail Wise, a 22 year old school teacher from Chicago. Her parents let her the money after she landed her new job, but had no way to get to and from the school she was to teach at. She head to a local dealership in search of a convertible. When she expressed her desires she was disheartened to learn no drop tops were in...

As is the case in other electric cars, the Mustang Mach-E keeps its 12-volt lead-acid battery topped up by essentially sipping power from the much larger lithium-ion battery pack. Based on owners’ accounts across multiple forum threads, including one who spoke to The Verge, the problem is this stops happening whenever the Mustang Mach-E is plugged in to charge up the larger battery pack. That is especially an issue for owners in areas with cold weather, as Ford encourages them to leave their Mustang Mach-Es plugged in so the SUVs can use power from the grid to warm up before driving.FORD...

And the 2021 Mustang lineup as a whole is here with a handful of changes. Rejoice, pony car fans. The first cars from a limited batch of 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 models is now on its way to dealers, the automaker said on Thursday. You had to be there to remember – and to understand – so here’s a refresher. In 1964, group of young Pontiac engineers created the GTO by pairing an expensive big-car’s engine with an inexpensive medium-sized car – thereby creating the first mass-market muscle car. Which was mass-market because it wasn’t just about muscle. That had been done before, by Chrysler (letter series cars) and Oldsmobile, too. What made the GTO different – and dangerous, in the view of a certain kind of killjoy – was that it was cheap. Or at least, affordable. You didn’t have to be a...
