FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A shoplifting suspect, apparently out of options after being confronted by employees, smeared poop in their faces, police said. Marisol Toribio, 32, was arrested Tuesday by Coral Springs police. According to court documents, Toribio was caught stealing from Macy's, so she pulled some poop out of her pants and smeared it on the faces of the loss prevention employees who confronted her. Toribio appeared in bond court Wednesday morning. She faces theft charges, plus a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

TRENTON — Bail has been lowered for a southern New Jersey man facing a gun possession count, a charge his lawyer calls "shocking" because he has no use of his arms due to a spinal condition. The Times of Trenton says 28-year-old Marcus Hubbard, of Salem, has been jailed since his arrest in Trenton in August. Authorities say he was in a car with three other men where a stolen 9mm handgun and a prescription bottle of codeine were found. All four men were eventually charged after none of them took responsibility for the items.

Researchers have recorded and analysed the ways cows communicate with their young, to translate the meanings behind the "moos". They identified two distinctly different call sounds that cows make to their calves, depending on whether they are nearby or separated. This week the Swedish furniture giant IKEA replaced a movie theater's seats with beds in its Russian "Awake Love" campaign.
