Argentina’s President has adopted a young Jewish man as her godson to prevent him from turning into a werewolf. President Christina Fernández met Yair Tawil and several members of his family at her office on Tuesday to hold the unusual ceremony, dating back over 100 years. According to Argentinian folklore, the seventh straight son born to a family will transform into the feared “el lobison.” The werewolf shows its true nature on the first Friday after the boy’s 13th birthday, legend says. The boy turns into a demon at midnight whenever there is a full moon, doomed to hunt and...

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A shoplifting suspect, apparently out of options after being confronted by employees, smeared poop in their faces, police said. Marisol Toribio, 32, was arrested Tuesday by Coral Springs police. According to court documents, Toribio was caught stealing from Macy's, so she pulled some poop out of her pants and smeared it on the faces of the loss prevention employees who confronted her. Toribio appeared in bond court Wednesday morning. She faces theft charges, plus a charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.

Having introduced the matter of North Korea, however, the film unfortunately does require some attention, if only to disabuse prospective viewers of any hope that it has any redeeming value. Notwithstanding the protections provided by the First Amendment, there is a valid question whether the assassination of any living head of state, no matter how heinous the individual or his regime, is suitable subject matter for a major studio motion picture. If one objects on moral grounds to any such depiction, it's hard to know where to direct one's concern. The Sony Corporation, not to mention the stars and originators...

A typical Christmas shopping list usually consists of toys, electronics, gift cards, etc. But now, some women are adding positive pregnancy tests to their list -- and checking it twice. Women across the country are selling and buying positive pregnancy tests on Craigslist. One post from Claremore, Oklahoma offered a positive pregnancy test for $20. The advertisement stated: 'I have positive pregnancy test for those of you who need a little help holding onto your man through the holidays, shoot me a message for $20 each.'

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — Responding to a 911 call early Wednesday, police found a man asleep behind the wheel of his car with the engine running, according to an arrest report. The caller who phoned police? Shane Dever Malley, the very man police say they arrested after finding him slumped over in his car near the intersection of N. Congress Avenue and Watertower Road. Malley told police he called 911 through the OnStar system in his vehicle. When police woke Malley up, the 21-year-old had his foot on the break and had “an over-powering smell of alcoholic beverage” coupled with...

"What will you tell the President when you see him?" was my daughter Eva's first reaction when I told her I'd been invited to the White House Channukah party (Actually, it was her second reaction. Her first was, "Take me!"). Kids are innocent that way. They don't realize that when you have over a hundred people crowding the leader of the free world, it's not so easy to get in a word edgewise. But I got lucky. It's not what I told the President that mattered, it's what I heard him say when few people were paying attention. After the...

TRENTON — Bail has been lowered for a southern New Jersey man facing a gun possession count, a charge his lawyer calls "shocking" because he has no use of his arms due to a spinal condition. The Times of Trenton says 28-year-old Marcus Hubbard, of Salem, has been jailed since his arrest in Trenton in August. Authorities say he was in a car with three other men where a stolen 9mm handgun and a prescription bottle of codeine were found. All four men were eventually charged after none of them took responsibility for the items.

On Black Friday, we told you that 30,000 people may have purchased actual poop in a box. Today, we're pleased to report that it's true: 30,000 Americans bought poop. The offer came from Cards Against Humanity—that filthy, hilarious mab libs card game created by a few Highland Park, Illinois residents that markets itself as a "party game for terrible people." They claimed to be offering 'actual bull****' for a mere $6 to U.S. residents only. They were very clear that customers should expect to receive feces from a live bull in a box delivered to their door, and nothing more....

Researchers have recorded and analysed the ways cows communicate with their young, to translate the meanings behind the "moos". They identified two distinctly different call sounds that cows make to their calves, depending on whether they are nearby or separated. They also identified a call calves make to their mothers when they want to start suckling milk. The cows were studied at a farm in Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire. The team from the University of Nottingham and Queen Mary University of London spent ten months digitally recording the cow sounds, then a year analysing them using computers. Dr Mónica Padilla de la...

Former Spanish police officer - previously arrested for Nazi-themed protest - scaled the walls of the enclose where 3 lions mauled him, according to local media. Whether in an act of unknown protest, plain disregard for basic safety or a test of conviction in the lions' den, an alleged neo-Nazi activist sustained critical injuries from a lion attack at the Barcelona Zoo on Sunday after he jumped into the animals' enclosure, according to Spanish daily El País. According to eyewitness accounts, the 45-year-old former Spanish police officer donned full military garb when he deliberately scaled the walls of the feline...

Ah, the joys of tolerance. Sydney, Australia has begun to learn them after opening several Muslim-friendly restaurants that serve only halal food that is permissible to be eaten under Shariah law. One of those restaurants is featured in this video of a Muslim man who completely loses it when a customer, apparently unaware that he was in a halal-only KFC, asked for bacon on his sandwich. The video shows the KFC employee yelling — screaming, really — about being recorded. He also threatens the customer. Apparently he really, really doesn’t like the word “bacon.” Great customer service at those halal-only...

MOSCOW (AP) — A furniture store has taken over a Moscow cinema, allowing theatergoers to enjoy what more closely resembles an enormous slumber party than an afternoon at the movies. This week the Swedish furniture giant IKEA replaced a movie theater's seats with beds in its Russian "Awake Love" campaign. The switchover took place in the Moscow suburb of Khimki, not far from a branch of the store beloved by many Russians. The campaign, which lasts until Dec. 14, is modeled after a similar event in 2010 at a Paris music hall.

When the stunt-planners at Greenpeace sent teams of activists to trespass this week at Peru's Nazca archeological site, they must have thought their bumper-sticker messaging would look good on a Facebook page next to the 2,000-year-old geodesic drawings. After all, the group is known for stringing banners from bridges and skyscrapers to draw attention to its environmental campaigns, and with U.N. climate talks taking place in Lima this week, the activists clearly wanted to make an impact. And so they have. The impact of their footprints on the fragile desert site, in fact, will last "hundreds or thousands of years,"...

CIA operatives subjected at least five detainees to what they called “rectal rehydration and feeding”, a medical practice applied with extreme rarity and known more colloquially as a nutrient enema, according to a Senate intelligence committee report released Tuesday. The CIA forced the nutrient enemas on two detainees who attempted hunger strikes, a third who “partially refus[ed] liquids”, a fourth “without a determination of medical need”, and a fifth whose case details are not divulged.

Of every liberal, enemy agent, and other non-conservative person in this world whom I for the most part abhor, one person stands out whom I actually have a soft spot for. That, of course, is the infamous Iraqi Information Minister, colloquially known as "Baghdad Bob", during the start of the war in Iraq. Ironically, every newscaster in the mainstream media in the United States has aspired to Bob's level of "substance" and have usually achieved such prominence, many actually surpassing Baghdad Bob's own rhetoric. To that end, one cannot really hate Baghdad Bob as much as one would like, as...
