NBC's Lauer Claims Breitbart Breaking Weiner Story Violated Conservative Principles Kyle Drennen June 7, 2011 In an interview with Andrew Breitbart on Tuesday's NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer suggested the conservative blogger should not have broken news of the scandal involving Congressman Anthony Weiner: "Did you worry that – you know, as a conservative, you don't want government in people's bedrooms. And so did you stop and have a debate with yourself about that?" Moments earlier, Breitbart had noted feeling some sympathy for Weiner during Monday's press conference: "I felt so unbelievably sad for this guy." Lauer responded by wondering...

Yesterday we reported that TV news crews were on the move due to fears of radiation exposure. Today we saw the first example of why those moves were made. On “Today” this morning, NBC News anchor Lester Holt revealed that he and his crew tested positive for small traces of radiation after returning to his hotel from spending time in the field. Luckily, as Holt explains, the amount of radiation he was exposed to was very small. His shoes, however, will not be coming back to the U.S. after his trip ends.

NBC/WSJ pollster: Results show 'rebuke' of last two years Republicans remain on course to make substantial midterm gains across the country and to win control of at least one chamber of Congress, according to the final NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll before Tuesday’s elections. Nearly 50 percent of likely voters prefer a GOP-controlled Congress, which is virtually unchanged from the poll taken two weeks ago; a plurality of all registered voters say it would be a “good thing” if Republicans were in charge of both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate; and almost two-thirds — including about half of Democrats...

“There aren't a lot of African-American men at these events,” NBC News reporter Kelly O'Donnell, a white woman, told Darryl Postell, a black man at a Tea Party rally held Thursday in Washington, DC, pressing him, in an exchange she chose to include in her NBC Nightly News story, to address her prejudiced assumptions: “Have you ever felt uncomfortable?” Postell rejected her loaded premise that race must divide Americans: “No, no, these are my people, Americans.” O'Donnell's story noted “skepticism over how the Tea Party is judged and labeled,” letting an attendee assert: “We're not racists, we're not any of...

I really need you to read this email. Please – it’s critically important! We urgently need you to join us in Searchlight, NV tomorrow (Saturday) and this email explains exactly why. Last night NBC Nightly News joined dozens of other national & international news outlets to report on the upcoming “Showdown in Searchlight.” The whole world is watching – and I’m not exaggerating at all. This is by far the biggest event in the tea party movement since Congress rammed through government-run heath care this past weekend. And as a result, everyone is waiting to see if the tea party...

NBC Nightly News' Brian Williams and Savannah Guthrie incites, foments violence against Sarah Palin with their egregious insinuations that Palin should be castigated for encouraging conservatives via her twitter and facebook messages to "reload". The video clearly shows they are trying to smear Palin as an agitator of violent protest. Palin herself has condemned any violence when appearing on Fox News last week. If any harm comes to her, they will be responsible and will be held to account.

It could have been an innocent mistake after all the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey has tons of questions you cant remember them all. But on the other hand you would think that it would be a question that is remembered particularly because it is such a hot topic right now. We're talking about a question in the NBC/WSJ Poll that found by a wide 12 point margin most people see Obamacare as a bad Idea (48%-36% margin) and the fact that question was not mentioned during last night's NBC News report about the NBC/WSJ effort. Instead last night,NBC...

Although the Canadian health care system may kind of work for its roughly 33 million people and still have a myriad of downsides, its hard to imagine it could be sustainable in the United States, with 304 million people. But looking at the Canadian system was how NBC News decided to handle its follow-up to the health care summit. On the Feb. 25 broadcast of the "NBC Nightly News," anchor Brian Williams posed the question whether the Canadian system was better. Though the report pointed out some flaws, NBC made nationalized care seem nice. "As Washington grapples with its seemingly...

Fox News has a business strategy of seeking to "undermine" the MSM by alleging that it has a liberal bias. That was the allegation that Chuck Todd made on Morning Joe today. Todd, NBC's political director and chief White House correspondent, was reacting to Fox News Washington managing editor Bill Sammon's statement on "Fox News Sunday" that "the mainstream media hates the tea party movement almost as much as it hates Sarah Palin." Six months ago, network executives were complaining that the White House was costing them tens of millions of dollars by pressing them to carry presidential news conferences in prime time. Problem solved: President Obama hasn't held a full-scale news conference since July. Instead, he answered a dozen people's questions last week on YouTube, most of them easily finessed and -- extra bonus! -- no annoying follow-ups of the kind posed by real, live journalists. It would be hard -- impossible, actually -- to argue that Obama hasn't been accessible to the media, not with his constant television interviews. The man...
