CLEVELAND (AP) - Jeff Garcia's girlfriend, Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Year, was charged with assault in a bar fight last month with a woman the Cleveland Browns quarterback once dated. Garcia was out with girlfriend Carmella DeCesare when they were confronted Aug. 21 by Kristen Hine in a nightclub. DeCesare "launched" herself at Hine three times, Hine told police. Hine said that when she turned to leave DeCesare kicked her in the head. Hine, 32, of Cleveland, wasn't hurt but filed a police complaint accusing DeCesare (pictured, above) of assault, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Medina- On Thursday, about 65 people walked around Public Square carrying candles to remember the more than 1,000 American servicemen and women who have died in Iraq, including a recent Medina graduate. No one spoke and no one carried signs. The peace of the evening would give way the next day to tears and anger when Medina High School officials learned that the event was staged by MoveOn, a group supporting Democrat John Kerry and opposing President Bush and the war in Iraq. Randy Stepp, director of secondary initiatives at Medina High, accused the group of being deceptive and using...

The hot fashion trend among Democratic National Convention delegates this year is pink, in the form of pink scarves. Not only are delegates of all stripes making a fashion statement with the scarves, they're making a political statement as well. The scarves read "Give BUSH a pink slip!" and identify the wearer as a "DELEGATE FOR PEACE." They also say " Boston — 2004" and thus serve as a souvenir of the convention. The Kucinich campaign first used the scarves at the Maine Democratic Convention in May. They were donated by Code Pink, an activist anti-war group. Originally brought in...

Pro-abortion Dennis KUCINICH: "I would refrain from Communion if Bishop Pilla asked me to, but the bishop has not done so."Kucinich's press secretary, Kathie Scarrah, in May of 2003: "He absolutely believes in the sanctity of life and that life begins at conception." Kucinich in a letter to the Plain Dealer: "I don't believe in abortion; few do. I do, however, believe in choice." Kucinich in interview with the San Francisco Chronicle: "I am going to continue to take a thoughtful approach, and that doesn't preclude the poor from having the government support their right to choose." Kucinich to Tim...

Congressman Dennis Kucinich is ending his long shot presidential bid today by officialy endorsing John Kerry's campaign for the White House. In prepared remarks, Kucinich stressed the need for Democrats to united together behind Kerry and vice presidential nominee John Edwards. He also plans to make an appeal to supporters of independent presidential candiadte Ralph Nader, who some worry could draw support away from Kerry.Kucinich waged his underfunded campaign for a year, speaking out against free trade agreements and in support of universal health care and civil liberties. He won about 64 delegates but his campaign never gathered enough steam to be competitive....

George Bush is very similar to the career of Bernie Kosar at the University of Miami. Kosar was the first round pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 1985 supplemental draft. He FINISHED his degree requirements (I believe a double major as well)..in other words, he GRADUATED. In what would have been his 4th season, Kosar was playing for the Browns. Likewise, Bush finished his "degree" requirements prior to the last season of his Reserve career so he opted out of his last physical and went to Harvard. Vinnie Testaverde succeeded Kosar and played 4 years - winning the Heisman...

Greetings from Cleveland! This morning we took the National March Against Terror to the heart of the beast, Ohio's liberal Mecca: Lakewood. Our honor roll of FReepers/ProtestWarriors were Dollycali, Oliver, Dubyaismypresident, nomad, Warrior4victory04, oohla-la, and OneLoyalAmerican. Sadly, I failed to gather names of our other NMAT supporters at Lakewood. We began with FReepers cleaning-up the neglected park veteran's memorial, half-masting the memorial's flags, as we paid honor to the 9-11 victims, our US soldiers, and their grieving families. Let it be known Lakewood, Ohio sacrificed nearly three-hundred of her home town Sons in WWII alone. Feeling pretty good about honoring...

----- Original Message ----- From: "Adam Ruben, MoveOn PAC" Sent: Tuesday, September 07, 2004 3:03 PM Subject: Important meeting Saturday to beat Bush in Medina Dear MoveOn member, Last week we held community meetings all over Ohio to launch Leave No Voter Behind, our huge, ambitious battleground-state plan to turn out over 400,000 new voters for Kerry. The response was amazing. In city after city we had standing room only crowds. We were blown away by the number of folks who showed up ready to talk to their neighbors about what's at stake in November, and to play key leadership...

Bay Village, OH 44140 Bay Village, OH - - Bruce Cobbeldick, is the only Family Man the Republicans have running for the 10th Congressional District, and with health coverage being the Number One issue, followed closely by jobs and then high taxes, there just may be an upset on the horizon for incumbent Dennis Kucinich if Cobbeldick can reach the families here and re-ignite the interest of NE Ohio's Middle Class, as Cobbeldick is Pro-Life and a...

Step Right Up The statesman speaks: You said I look like George W. Bush and I dressed in a sharp pin-striped suit ["The War at Home," December 10]. Great work -- if you were a fashion reporter. But candidate Ed Herman actually said, "At this stage of the game, all you have to do is be nice and not piss anybody off." His quote speaks volumes. Leadership isn't about trying not to piss people off. I have a platform. While Ed is practicing how to be a politician and say things that are politically expedient, I will continue to show...
