New Jersey School crossing guard placed a frantic call to police after seeing a young girl getting into an unfamiliar car. A man was almost arrested on abduction charges after picking up the wrong girl from school. Art Deaner picked up 9-year-old Courtney who he does not know instead of the 6-year-old Courtney he was supposed to take home. As a favor to the girl’s mother Deaner went to the Gloucester City School, in New Jersey to pick up six-year-old Courtney Fetters, instead he drove away with nine-year-old Courtney Durr. The mistaken identity almost landed him in jail.

Evidence continues to mount that President Obama and his administration intentionally left Benghazi diplomats unsafe and, after the 9/11 attack, tried to cover up their actions regarding Libya. Benghazigate: The Disaster That Should Have Sunk Obama -- and Still Could The New American 16 November 2012 President Barack Obama has survived Benghazigate — thus far. The House science committee is demanding the White House explain why top administration officials are using secret e-mail accounts and other techniques to conceal their taxpayer-paid activities from public oversight. The evidence of officials’ efforts to evade transparency laws includes EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson’s use of the fake name “Richard Windsor”, and hidden e-mail accounts, according to a Nov. 16 letter sent by the committee to several White House officials, including Jackson. You don’t want your military described as an “NGO” — that stands for non-governmental organization, like the Red Cross or Doctors Without Borders. It’s just one of the criticisms lobbed by Mark Steyn about how the nation is fighting, or not, in Afghanistan, in the latest issue of the conservative National Review. He argues that while the U.S. tends to be forward-leaning when it comes to getting into wars, it’s also forward-leaning when it comes to getting out. We simply don’t have the will to win, he says. That’s true, as far as it goes, of course. Democratic governments who...

European Union officials are examining legal options to side-step a possible British veto on the bloc’s long-term budget, in a bid to weaken Prime Minister David Cameron's trump card in the talks, diplomats said. Britain is one of several net contributors including Germany and France demanding deep reductions to EU spending plans worth more than €1 trillion between 2014-2020, which they say are at stark odds with austerity-driven spending cuts at home. Under pressure from Euroskeptics in his own party to deliver a real terms cut, officials believe Cameron is the most likely to make good on a threat to...

A good indicator could be when Federally managed workers with the Federal Emergency Management Agency are lining up for food handed out by an offshoot of the Occupy Wall Street movement, Occupy Sandy. Last week, FEMA shut down its New York centers set up to respond the devastation caused by superstorm Sandy because of… bad weather. The Petraeus-gate matter is the stuff of tabloids now; but soon the real issues relating to when and what Eric Holder knew, and by extension the president, and how exactly Benghazi (the crime of indifference to the besieged, the cover-up of the truth, the actual mission of our consulate and annex) fits into this labyrinth of deceit, both petty and fundamental, may overshadow the present sensationalism. A pair of foreign-owned solar companies that benefited from a combined $84 million in Energy Department tax credits have announced they will lay off employees. One of the companies, German-owned SolarWorld, was integral in the fight for tariffs against the importation of Chinese photovoltaic solar panels. The other, Chinese company SunTech, blamed those tariffs for its own layoffs. Both companies benefited from the Energy Department’s stimulus-funded Advanced Energy Manufacturing (48C) Tax Credit. The 48C credit is worth up to 30% of the cost of manufacturing qualifying green energy projects. SolarWorld received a credit worth $82 million, while SunTech’s was worth...

Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson warned Friday that a failure to win passage of a half-cent sales tax hike would result in the layoffs of up to 1,400 city employees next year. including 500 in the Police Department, if the March 5 ballot measure is not successful.  Villaraigosa has called on the council to reaffirm its support for staffing at the Police Department, which has had 9,963 rank-and-file officers in recent years. But Wesson warned that the council’s commitment would probably evaporate without the tax hike, which is expected to generate $215 million Wesson sent his letter...

Bible Publisher Wins Stay of Obama Contraceptive Mandate By Stephen Dinan - November 16, 2012 A federal court on Friday said a Bible publisher doesn't have to offer health insurance coverage for contraceptives if it has moral objections, blocking the Obama administration from imposing its contraceptive care mandate on the business for now. Judge Reggie B. Walton said the Obama administration's contraceptive coverage mandate puts companies that companies such as Illinois-based Tyndale House Publishers in an "untenable position" — either violate their beliefs, or face major penalties for failing to comply. Tyndale House Publishers Inc., a Christian publishing company, said...

LONDON (AP) — Britain's High Court ruled Friday that a Christian was unfairly demoted for posting his opposition to gay marriage on Facebook. Adrian Smith was stripped of his management position with the Trafford Housing Trust in northwest England and had his salary cut by 40 percent after posting that gay weddings in churches were "an equality too far." The trust said Smith broke its code of conduct by expressing religious or political views that might upset co-workers. But High Court judge Michael Briggs ruled Friday that Smith had been "taken to task for doing nothing wrong" and found his...

The Republicans twice proved that they were a racist party when they ran, not once, but twice, against Obama, hoping to deny an entire generation of black children a chance to grow up with a real role model who can teach them responsibility and good spending habits. And let’s face it, the Republican attacks on UN Ambassador Susan Rice are another reminder that the Republican Party is a bunch of crazy racists who rush to blame a black woman when she spends days lying about an attack on a US consulate. If a white man had lied about the murder...

During the spring of 2011, the Justice Department was reviewing the Brooks County case and hadn't forwarded a response in regard to whether the federal government wanted to go forward. If President Obama is re-elected and Eric Holder remains as the Attorney General, there is a stronger likelihood that a sturdier response along with more questions will be forwarded to J. David Miller, Jo Ann Collins (the former elections supervisor/Probatre judge) assistant DA Brad Shealy about their own involvement.
  • Ecuador Officials Reject Donkey as Candidate

The demand of dozens of citizens has been denied in the Ecuadorean city of Guayaquil: There will be no jackass running for the legislature. At least 40 people paraded their candidate through the city's streets to the electoral council offices. Mr. Burro even wore a tie. But officials refused to even let them in the door on Thursday, even though backers had dummied up a mock voter registration card showing the candidate's photo superimposed on a man wearing a business suit. Donkey backer Daniel Molina told local television stations the goal was to call voters' attention to the seriousness of...

  • Tom McClintock: Sequestration is the only way to cut spending

    11/16/2012 3:07:59 PM PST · by Perdogg · 29 replies
While most of official Washington is panicking over the prospect of budget sequestration set to kick in on Jan. 1, one congressman says the fiscal trigger is the best prospect the country currently has for getting spending under control. “Sequestration’s the only hope we have to get spending under control,” Rep. Tom McClintock (R-Calif.), who sits on the House Budget Committee, told Human Events this week. “I would like to see adjustments made within the sequestration levels to reduce the cuts to defense spending, spending. But it’s the only chance we have to avoid a sovereign debt crisis.”
