Republican Super Pac Aims To Win Over Hispanics With Immigration Reform After Obama won 71% of the bloc, GOP campaigner Carlos Gutierrez turns to convincing party to embrace a shift in tone Ed Pilkington in New York 22 November 2012 The head of Mitt Romney's campaign to attract Latino voters during the presidential election has warned fellow Republicans that unless they embrace immigration reform they are in danger of destroying the party's reputation as the guardian of economic freedom and prosperity. Carlos Gutierrez, former commerce secretary under George Bush and the man who spearheaded of Romney's outreach to the Hispanic...
  • Man accused of leaving 2-year-old to buy 51-inch TV

There is nothing wrong with Black Friday. Save for the fact that it seems to bring out behaviors that may well have perplexed Neanderthals. One example might be that of a man who pulled a gun on a line-cutter at a Sears in San Antonio, Texas. Another might be the following joyous, spirit-lifting tale from Springfield, Mass. According to police, 34-year-old Anthony Perry was very much excited by a 51-inch TV at his local K-Mart. He allegedly drove to the mall at around 1:30 a.m., his girlfriend's 2-year-old in tow. As WWLP News tells it, the police claim Perry then...

Conservative lobbyist Grover Norquist blasted back at a Republican senator on Friday for backing off his promise to oppose tax increases. Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss said he has dumped his pledge to Norquist about the tax increases, telling a Macon television station he “more about my country than I do about a 20-year-old pledge,” referring to the Taxpayer Protection Pledge he signed when he first ran for the Senate. Norquist, who heads the conservative group Americans for Tax Reform, created the pledge, which nearly every Republican member of congress has signed. … Norquist responded, saying, “I miss his point in...

I am incredibly steamed this Thanksgiving Holiday over what the Democrats are doing to my country. Everybody by now knows—or should know—how readily Democrats conduct election fraud, and how determined they are to defend it. James O’Keefe and others have taken videos of paid Democratic operatives encouraging citizens to vote twice. O’Keefe was even able to claim Attorney General Eric Holder’s own ballot at a district polling place by claiming to be him, and then to vote in his place. … But even knowing this, I was not prepared for a conversation I had at Thanksgiving dinner with my brother-in-law,...

Now that a cease-fire has been declared between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, there are several concerns that still must be addressed: Who was behind this escalation in the first place and why did it occur at this particular moment in time? Egyptians have been turning against the Muslim Brotherhood in recent weeks, which could help explain the situation in neighboring Gaza. This is mainly because of the deteriorating economic situation in Egypt since the Brotherhood came to power. … It was not difficult for the MB to request—and probably help their sister Hamas organization—in flooding Israel with rocket attacks...

President Barack Obama’s advisors say the White House should accept corporate donations for his inauguration celebration in January, rather than hit up donors who underwrote his $1 billion campaign. Four years ago, Obama barred corporations from donating, in a bid to show he would not be beholden to big business. …

The talk has already started about a possible 2016 presidential bid by former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, but before that happens friends say he’ll be busy rebuilding his personal wealth and restoring his family’s relationship with the Republican Party. If he decides to seek the GOP nomination, it could put a damper on any plans by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio to run in four years, according to The New York Times. … After this year’s loss to President Barack Obama, Republicans are looking for a candidate who can appeal to a different voter demographic that’s no longer dominated by white...

ORLANDO, Fla. — A group of Walmart workers spent Black Friday protesting at several Central Florida Walmart stores. They were demonstrating against what they call unfair working conditions. Alex Rivera, a former Walmart employee, said he lost his job a couple months ago after trying to get some of his workers to join in a walk-out on Black Friday. "Only because I was speaking out about their wages and the way they were treating their employees, they were retaliating against me and after that they fired me," said Rivera.

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS -- A Land O' Lakes woman's holiday weekend got off to a rough start. According to officials, Samantha Chavez, 28, was arrested at a Walmart in Altamonte Springs. Police said the Land O'Lakes resident was arrested at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday. Officers said Chavez was seen approaching the crowded checkout lines. She attempted to bypass the long lines and walk past the officer controlling the lines. Chavez said she was trying to find her sister-in-law and explained what happened a different way. "I came back and the lines kind of moved and I couldn’t find her. Her cellphone...

(CNSNews.com) - The Thanksgiving holiday comes with a series of advisories and admonitions from your favorite Uncle Sam: The Transportation Department wants you to "buckle up and slow down," especially on Sunday; the Food and Drug Administration wants you to store your medications safely when traveling; the surgeon-general wants you to "create a family health portrait" when you sit down to your turkey dinner with relatives; and the U.S. Agriculture Department wants you to "sample local businesses" when you start your holiday shopping. Aside from the by-now-familiar tips on safe food handling and turkey cooking times (found at the USA.gov...

WHEREÂ’S GOD...? Have you ever wondered where in the world is GOD, when we are witnessing unspeakable horrors throughout the world each and every hour of each and every day? Forget listening to the news, local, national, or heaven forbid international news, there isnÂ’t a momentÂ’s peace in the world if we accept what we are told... Heck, we canÂ’t even turn on the TV, log on to the computer, or flip on the radio at the top of any hour of the day or night, without being reminded of the suffering of our fellow humans, not just in countries...

Here's a breakdown of how each county in Ohio voted in 2012. If it weren't for the most populace counties such as Franklin, Cuyahoga and Hamilton - Mitt would have won as would Josh Mandel. Something needs to be done about these large counties winning states in the elections. Someone on here (don't remember who) suggested that the winner should be by who wins the most counties or to proportion the electoral votes accordingly. Anyway, for those interested - here it is.

TSA offers holiday travel guidelines: No gravy in carry-onsBy Alexandra Jaffe - 11/22/12 04:21 PM ET Holiday travelers cannot bring certain Thanksgiving food favorites on planes, according to Transportation Security Administration (TSA) guidelines that ban the carrying of food items ranging from cranberry sauce to gravy. In a post Thursday on the TSA's blog, agency blogger Bob Burns warns holiday travelers to pack liquids, including "gravy, jams, jellies, maple syrup, oils and vinegars, sauces, soups, wine, liquor and beer," in their checked bags. "Eggnog can be an alternate to fuel depending on who’s mixing it. Sometimes there’s a fine line...

Obama hits the links for post-Thanksgiving golfBy Sheldon Alberts - 11/23/12 11:44 AM ET President Obama hit the links for some post-Thanksgiving exercise on Friday morning, taking advantage of an unusually mild late November day in the Washington area. Obama played his round at Joint Base Andrews with White House assistant Eugene Kang, White House trip director Marvin Nicholson — the president's most frequent golfing partner — and Nicholson's brother, Walter. Obama is an avid golfer — he played his 100th round as president in June — but played less frequently during the stretch run of the election campaign. The...

'After nights of relentless pounding by rockets and a rising death toll, the fragile ceasefire between Israel and Gaza's Hamas rulers has been tentatively welcomed by civilians on both sides. But it appears the truce was not a pleasing outcome to a group of battle-hungry Israeli soldiers which wanted to carry on the fighting and invade the Gaza Strip. To spell out their frustration, 16 Israeli Defence Force soldiers arranged their uniformed bodies on the ground, to spell out the Hebrew words 'Bibi loser' in an angry reference to Prime Minister Benjamin (Bibi) Netanyahu. The photo has now gone viral...

Asian Americans Turn Democratic Their support for President Obama on Nov. 6 caught many political pundits by surprise. By Taeku Lee and Karthick Ramakrishnan November 23, 2012 As the dust settles on the presidential election, there seems to be a new theory daily as to why Mitt Romney lost and what it signals for the future of the Republican Party. Common to nearly all the speculation are the partisan implications of demographic change. The United States is shifting gradually toward a majority-minority electorate, with ever-growing numbers of Latino and Asian American voters. Notably, these groups are increasingly voting as Democrats....
