  • Gun Control, Ad Infinitum - Gun control is something Americans almost never stop talking about.

Gun control, according to a recent blog post by Timothy Egan of The New York Times, is “the issue that dare not speak its name.” Egan is upset that people who do not like gun control recently said mean things about sportscaster Bob Costas, who does. This proved to Egan that “you cannot talk” about guns in America. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg agrees. Thanking Costas for speaking up, he tweeted: “A frank discussion about gun laws and gun violence is a discussion we need to have.”Bloomberg has an ally in NPR’s Neal Conan. Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga.) compared companies and workers to a “cage fight” between a “giant” and a “midget” on Wednesday night. By Thursday, he publicly expressed regret to “abnormally small people” for using the “m-word”. Johnson was discussing the right-to-work enacted in Michigan on Wednesday when he said, “What happens when you put in a cage fight a giant in with a midget? Well, the midget will not win the fight, I’m going to tell you that. Why? He just doesn’t carry enough weight to do so.” …

The Chairman of the Central Election Committee, Justice Elyakin Rubinstein, invalidated on Wednesday the election campaign of the Power to Israel party, headed by Aryeh Eldad, Michael Ben-Ari, Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben-Gvir. One of the ads in the campaign that was invalidated contains the word "trust" written in Arabic, and below it are the words “there are no rights without obligations”, a play on the campaign used by the Yisrael Beytenu party in the 2009 elections: No loyalty, no citizenship". Rubinstein's decision was made after a complaint was filed to the Committee by former MK Mossi Raz, who is...

It is the ultimate example of how you reap what you sow: Huge numbers of American workers who voted for Obama are now seeing their own jobs slashed below 30 hours a week as employers desperately try to avoid "Obamacare bankruptcy." Obamacare mandates for businesses only apply to those working 30 hours a week or more, and while many businesses do not want to cut workers' hours, they are being forced to in order to stay afloat. This necessary action is causing businesses to lose money and become less competitive while at the same time destroying American jobs. Some businesses...

Avigdor Lieberman responded Thursday to the recent indictment of fraud and breach of trust brought against him, saying he has been the target of suspicion and questioning for a long time now. Hinting that he has no intention of resigning, he said he hopes the matter will be settled as soon as possible. The Attorney General charged that Lieberman used his influence to promote the former Israeli ambassador to Belarus because the ambassador illegally leaked information about an investigation against him. Full Title: Michigan Right to Work law an opportunity to partially defund Planned Parenthood, gay activists ... Despite the fact that their membership is about evenly split between Republicans and Democrats, major Michigan unions spend nearly 100 percent of their political cash on the campaigns of some of the nation’s most pro-abortion Democratic politicians. They also support Planned Parenthood and same-sex “marriage” campaigns. “Planned Parenthood and the UAW [United Auto Workers] share a planned vision for this country,” said Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards at the National Community Action Program (CAP) Legislative Conference in Washington. In a new interview with Esquire, former Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger reflects on his time in public office and shares what he’s learned about politics. “You can’t learn charisma,” said Schwarzenegger. “The power of influence is one of the most unique powers that you can have. It’s not the power of controlling people. It’s developing a certain skill of communicating what you want to accomplish so that people will follow you.” Schwarzenegger also said, “Be a public servant. Not a party servant,” a statement that isn’t surprising given the fact that his own views weren’t always in line with Republican doctrine....

There they go again. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has just put out an Action Alert that takes direct aim at the Constitution of the United States. At issue is the Michigan state legislature’s House Bill No. 4769, which looks likely to pass in coming days. Quite simply, that bill states that no foreign law may take precedence over American law or Michigan state law in a Michigan court room. The key provision of the bill is Section 2, which says: “A court, arbitrator, administrative agency, or other adjudicative, mediation, or enforcement authority shall not enforce a foreign law...

An amended HB495 was passed by the Ohio Senate today by a 26-7 vote. The Ohio House is expected to hold a concurrence vote on the Senate version later today. The amended bill makes three changes to current law: * Eliminates the "demonstrated competency" requirement for second and future CHL renewals, making CHL training similar to a hunting license. * Fixes the definition of a "loaded gun" to match the commonly accepted definition. * Allows law-abiding gun owners to have their firearms stored in their cars in the state-owned parking garages such as the one under the Statehouse. The “red-green alliance” in Tennessee between the liberal-left and Islamists is alive and well but made even more novel with the participation of Republican Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam. Never one to shy away from Obama’s agenda for the U.S., Governor Haslam’s push to elevate the political status of Muslims in his state must leave Tennesseans wondering if their Republican governor is actually a Democrat. Governor Haslam’s promotion of the Islamist agenda in his state progressed from having his Commissioner of Safety and Homeland Security work behind the scenes to support and partner with the American Muslim Advisory Council to having...

Public Safety Secretary Mary Beth Heffernan — who is stepping down amid a flurry of controversy — may be in line for a judgeship, Gov. Deval Patrick suggested this afternoon. Asked by a Herald reporter at a State House press conference today whether he intended to nominate Heffernan to become a judge, Patrick grinned widely. “Well, you know, she’d make a great judge,” said Patrick. “And that’s all I’ll say about that right now.” Heffernan was listed as a reference on the job application of Sheila Burgess, the state’s ex-highway safety director who resigned after her checkered, four-page driving record...

PHILADELPHIA - It's a union protest designed to bring you to tears. Residents at the Vista apartment building on the 2800 block. of N. 47th St. in Philadelphia's Wynnefield section are losing their minds over a recording played by protesters from IBEW local 98. Last Wednesday, the union set up an iPod and loudspeakers that plays this recorded message: "Your community is crying for jobs, participation and fair wages." It's what comes next that brings a tear to the eye: an extended crying jag by a seemingly fussy infant. The recording- which began last Wednesday- runs each weekday from around...

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, regressive, Marxists, and Obama supporters, et. al.: We have stuck together since the late 1950s for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course. Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and...
