  • Connecticut embraces gun "buy-back" farce

Per New England Cable Network: CT is joining the fight on gun violence with a gun "buy-back" program. Local police stations will offer $200 for a working handgun and $75 for a working rifle. CT already has the 5th most strict gun-grabbing laws in the country. IMHO, the state's moronic embrace of the "gun buy-back" farce is just the latest example of their utter cluelessness about guns and their hatred of the most basic of civil rights, self-defense.

And not for David Gregory. A week ago on NBC’s Meet the Press, David Gregory brandished on screen a high-capacity magazine. To most media experts, a “high-capacity magazine” means an ad-stuffed double issue of Vanity Fair with the triple-page perfume-scented pullouts. But apparently in America’s gun-nut gun culture of gun-crazed gun kooks, it’s something else entirely, and it was this latter kind that Mr. Gregory produced in order to taunt Wayne LaPierre of the NRA. As the poster child for America’s gun-crazed gun-kook gun culture, Mr. LaPierre would probably have been more scared by the host waving around a headily...

“Jim Jett always used to say that his brother was the damndest scoundrel that was ever borne,” drawled Abraham Lincoln, “but by the infinite mercy of providence he was also the damndest fool.” Jeffrey Immelt, the modern version of Jim Jett’s brother and Chief Executive Officer of General Electric, should be fired. Actually, if it’s possible, he should be fired twice: once because he’s a scoundrel and another time because he’s a fool. As a fool and as a scoundrel, the guy has wonderful timing; timing that can only be attributed to the vast Left-Wing conspiracy that aims to convince Americans...

Jon Hammar saw combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, but his most brutal foreign experience was in Mexico. Last August, the 27-year-old former Marine corporal was incarcerated by Mexican authorities in Matamoros for trying to register an antique shotgun with customs agents. Foolishly, Cpl. Hammar followed instructions given to him by U.S. Border Patrol agents in Brownsville, Texas. He registered the gun with them and brought the paperwork to the Mexicans to get their stamp of approval in order to carry the gun through the country. Hammar and a friend were driving a Winnebago, hoping to have a nice surfing vacation...

**SNIP** A real scandal broke out when it became known that the family of a GRS agent who was killed during the attack on the embassy in Benghazi, Glen Doherty, hasn’t yet received any compensation from the CIS. The CIS officials say that Doherty was not employed permanently, and, according to the CIS’s regulations, pensions and compensations are provided only to the agency’s permanent employees and their families. Now, because Doherty’s family has received no compensation, it has to pay large debts. This story may undermine not only the CIA’s prestige, but also that of the US government. After all,...

**SNIP** Anyway, there’s a larger picture here and one that plainly highlights the liberal hypocrisy and incoherence that somehow goes unnoticed by a very large number of people in this country who, unfortunately, also vote. Liberals like David Gregory are allowed to break laws to prove a point. I’d be fine with this if they were also held accountable for breaking those laws. But his accomplices – let’s face it, that’s what they are: accomplices after the fact – are defending him from ANY prosecution at all. Why? He broke the law. Fine, he was making a point, but that...

New York (CNN) -- A blogger has posted the home addresses of staffers from a newspaper after the paper published an online, interactive map showing names and addresses of all handgun permit-holders in New York's Westchester and Rockland counties. Christopher Fountain, who is also a gun owner, spoke to CNN's "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien" on Thursday to explain his reasoning behind the posting. "I felt they were using this to harass gun owners," Fountain said of the newspaper's staff. "So I harassed them back." Fountain posted the name, home address and phone numbers of the Journal News' publisher, editor,...

Guns in America:A Gun for Every Body From the Pacific to the Atlantic, there are 310 million guns in Americans, some being handled by children still in elementary school. With a population of a little more than 314 million, there are enough guns in America to allocate one firearm for every man, woman and child. To load those weapons, the country has a hefty number of bullets, and a surplus of bullet-inflicted mortalities. America’s steady tally of gun-violence fatalities should have earmarked the subject as a high-priority topic, but discussion of firearm issues was nonexistent in the 2012 presidential...
