Last week, Neil Stevens raised the alarm about Google selling out conservatives on policy issues. He’s right, but a number of conservatives and Republicans think there is an even bigger problem for GOP. Remember that enormous, sophisticated data operation the Obama campaign had? The one that gave them massive daily data on public opinion trends in almost every segment of potential voters. It’s almost as if Democrats had access to some sort of huge database of real time information about what the public was reading or writing online. The kind of breathtakingly large, real-time data that could be used for...

Every day when you listen and watch the news you see more and more examples of how President Obama has divided our country. This past week when the news surfaced that the Keystone Pipeline, instead of benefiting the US and helping make us less dependent on foreign oil, will now become an asset to the Chinese was a shocking realism. The Chinese finalized a $15.1 billion takeover bid for Nexen Inc. which Canada wanted the US to embrace while cautiously courting China after Obama’s rejection. Environmentalists often call oil from Canada’s tar sands the dirtiest fuel on Earth, because the complex process of extracting it spews huge amounts of carbon dioxide into the air. But by that standard, some of the crude oil pumped in California is just as dirty. In a few cases, it’s even worse. Several California oil fields produce just as much carbon dioxide per barrel of oil as the tar sands do, state data show. A handful of fields yield even more. President Obama must have been stunned at the "audacity" of Dr. Benjamin Carson in challenging his core assumptions right to his face in front of thousands of people at the National Prayer Breakfast. Obama is not used to being challenged, especially in public, even if indirectly and without being specifically named. From the look on his face, it was obvious Obama was none too pleased with Carson's message or with his "presumptuousness" in presenting it in that forum, while he had to sit still and -- remain silent. I think we can best understand Carson's message in light of his...

President Obama is giving the annual State Of The Union Speech tonight. No need to listen though. The state of the union is clear for all to see. It is horrible. It is deplorable. It is disgraceful. It is vulnerable. It is battered. It is essentially bankrupt. It is, in short, lousy. That's the state of the union, no matter what Obama might say to the contrary.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post incorrectly reported that Sarah Palin planned to contribute to the Al Jazeera America news network. The erroneous report was based on a fictionalized story in The Daily Currant, a news satire Web site. The Sarah Palin Story is a cautionary tale about what can happen when politics and celebrity meet. Fox News and their once-upon-a-time darling Palin recently parted ways after three years. But it appears that Palin is still trying to find ways to stay relevant while her 15 minutes fades into the political history books. On Monday morning, Palin posted a...

Embattled New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez visited the swanky Casa de Campo resort in the Dominican Republic in August 2006 and stayed at Dr. Salomon Melgen's posh villa, according to an interview Menendez gave (in Spanish) with the Dominican daily Listin Diario. The news report Aug. 22, 2006 included a photo of Menendez, with the caption: “Bob Menéndez, the senator from New Jersey, gave an interview to Listin Diario at the residence of the Dominican doctor Salomón Melgen, at Casa de Campo, La Romana.” Menendez has only acknowledged visiting Melgen’s villa on three occasions, all in 2010. He paid Melgen...

"Those among us who are constantly rhapsodizing about 'change' in vague and general terms seem to have no fear that a blank check for change can be a huge risk in a world where so many other countries that are different are also far worse off." -- Thomas Sowell The reason people who are knowledgeable about our nation’s history are so concerned with following the Constitution, sticking to traditions, and safeguarding our rights is that our country's success is not the rule. For all the bitter railing you hear against "1%ers," if you're living in modern day America, you are...

We’re pleased to say that we are on Chicago Police SuperNintendo Garry McCarthy’s radar. In fact, we’re under his skin too. He whined at a news conference yesterday for media to quit “adopting the rhetoric of the gun advocates” in writing that Chicago has strict gun laws. His Orwellian comment was about as laughable as his tenure as Chicago’s Police Chief. The Washington Times picked up the story. Police superintendent: ‘Chicago does not have strict gun laws’ Chicago (Washington Times) - Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy implored the press Monday to stop characterizing the city as being strict on guns....
