He was a congressman, he was a sexter. He was a mayoral candidate, he was a sexter. He was the subject of a cringing documentary, he was a sexter. He was ultimately the owner of a computer, seized by the FBI for sexting, that ended up playing a massive role in the 2016 presidential election. He was the husband of one of Hillary Clinton's trusted aides, now he's her ex-husband. And now, Anthony Weiner will officially have a criminal record. The New York Times, citing an unnamed source, reported that Weiner will plead guilty Friday for a single charge of...

  • Love bite? Snake bites Florida man who tries to kiss it

    05/19/2017 8:41:31 AM PDT · by Snickering Hound · 29 replies
Authorities say a Florida man leaned in to kiss a rattlesnake — but got bitten instead. News outlets report the unidentified man was bitten on the tongue Tuesday in the Bostwick area and had to be airlifted to a hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. WTLV in Jacksonville quoted a friend of the victim as saying that he had been drinking while handling the seemingly calm eastern diamondback. But when he moved toward the reptile as if to kiss it, the snake bit him.

  • Sheriff Ordered to Remove “Blessed are the Peacemakers” Decals

The peacemakers are not allowed to be blessed in Montgomery County, Virginia. The sheriff was ordered on May 17 to remove decals bearing a portion of a well-known Bible verse from patrol cars. The decal, which had been posted on vehicles in March, bore the words, “Blessed are the peacemakers…Matthew 5:9.” “Our intent was, and still is, to honor our fellow brothers and sisters in law enforcement,” Sheriff C.H. Partin wrote in a statement to Fox News. The sheriff said the decals were removed at the request of the county’s board of supervisors. “In the midst of National Police Week,...

While the California attorney general pleads for more state funding to battle the Trump administration in court and the legislature extends a $25,000 monthly contract to bring the top legal minds of Eric Holder’s law firm to bear against the White House; Gov. Jerry Brown (D) is asking President Trump for help with California’s high-speed train project. California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D) told a Senate Budget Subcommittee on May 4 his office needs more money to continue fighting Trump’s executive orders. Becerra, who took office in January, has already filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over an Interior...

I'm unsure what to make of the retirement of Congressman Jason Chaffetz, because I don't know if it's a furlough or a desertion. I don't know if he is thinking about his wallet or his country. And only time will tell if this move is fateful or feckless. The chairman of the House Oversight Committee, a representative from Utah, Chaffetz says he's had a "midlife crisis," and he's tired of nights away from home and family. So he's going a new direction. My initial reaction was contempt. Because I hate quitters, and because the battle isn't over, and because many...
  • Anthony Weiner pleading guilty to obscenity charge, report says (Putz alert!)

Anthony Weiner is expected to plead guilty Friday to charges he sexted with a minor last year, according to a report. The scandal-scarred former congressman will cop to a single charge of transferring obscene material to a minor as part of a plea agreement with the US Attorney’s Office in Manhattan, The New York Times reported. Feds have been investigating claims that Weiner, then 51, sent a 15-year-old North Carolina girl inappropriate messages starting in January 2016. The charge carries a potential sentence of 0 to 10 years in prison. A likely result of his plea is that Weiner will...

Long time CTH readers will note we extended well over a year of benefit-of-the-doubt to the motives of former FBI Director James Comey with regard to the severity of his politicized nature and disposition. Throughout the entire Clinton investigation we remained ambivalent to Comey’s motives. Indeed it wasn’t until after the Pulse nightclub terrorist attack when Comey obtusely noted the FBI had been contacted (prior to the attack) about the sketchy behavior of Omar Mateen by a ‘random concerned citizen’ -and our finding that the actual ‘citizen’ was the far more substantive St Lucie county sheriff Ken Mascara– that we...

Mr. Smartypants may have outsmarted himself. James Comey has painted himself into a corner by indirectly leaking a memorandum to the New York Times (a person who read the memorandum shared excerpts from it to reporter Michael Schmitt) and may even have placed himself in legal jeopardy. Gregg Jarrett of Fox News, a former defense attorney, explains: Under the law, Comey is required to immediately inform the Department of Justice of any attempt to obstruct justice by any person, even the President of the United States. Failure to do so would result in criminal charges against Comey. (18 USC 4...

  • Desperate Parents Pull Children Out of School Over Fears of MS-13 Gang (Safe New York)

NEW YORK—Schools have become the crucible for intimidation and recruitment into the Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, gang on Long Island and around the country. One Long Island mother, who wanted to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal from MS-13, said she and several other parents have taken their teenagers out of the local high school because they’ve become targets of the gang. Some children are being homeschooled and, in a few extreme cases, sent to stay with relatives out of the state. “I am scared to death,” the mother said. “It’s a crapshoot. I feel like we’re rolling the dice...

3News confirmed Wednesday that Municipal Court Judge Young Min Burkett was placed on unpaid administrative leave by City Council after they discovered that she is not a U.S. citizen. Mayor Pro-Tem Lucy Rubio read the following statement to Council Tuesday following an executive session: "The City Council has discovered that one of its municipal court judges, Young Min Burkett, does not meet the statutory requirements for status as a municipal court judge of the U.S. citizenship and status as a qualified voter. Ms. Burkett did not make any misrepresentations in seeking appointment. Instead, the City did not ask the question...
  • BREAKING: Weiner Will Plead Guilty

Weiner will appear before a judge in Manhattan to plead guilty for transferring obscene material to a female 15-year-old minor from North Carolina, according to the New York Times. Weiner could potentially face ten years in prison and be registered as a sex offender. The F.B.I. obtained Weiner’s electronic devices in late October, which included a laptop computer containing emails to his estranged wife and Hillary Clinton aide, Huma Abedin. Despite no formal charges being made, Clinton cites this untimely investigation as the primary reason for her loss in the 2016 presidential election.

Achtung! Don't mess with sidebars ("Configure Sidebar") for a few days. Some of the queries you may end up configuring will prevent you from accessing the site. As a work around I have reset the sidebars for everybody -- to be restored once the erroneous queries can be rewritten -- when I have the brains to do so (zzz) --- zzz (as a consequence, any changes you end up making will be obliterated once the great restoration of the glorious sidebar preferences is undertaken.)

If you believe the headlines, Donald Trump is done for. Impeachment, obstruction of justice, and abuse of power are the themes of the week. Split-screens of Mr Trump and Richard Nixon drift across our TVs; Watergate veterans warn gloomily of history repeating itself and investigations continue to swirl. Don't hold your breath. Amid all the outrage about what the President says or does or tweets, remember this: there are millions of Americans who AGREE with Mr Trump that this is all a witch hunt. They are angry. They feel ignored. They would probably take to the streets - as he...

A Democratic candidate for governor of Arizona laid out his full, salacious sexual history on camera in a bizarre interview with "The Daily Show" on Thursday night. Declared candidate Noah Dyer told interviewer Desi Lydic that he has engaged in frequent casual sex, sex with married woman, sex with multiple partners at once, sexting, and has had sex on camera. "You know we're recording this?" Lydic interrupted. "I don't actually want to talk about my sex life; I'm just sharing it at the get-go so we can not talk about it," Dyer insisted. "But there's a tab on your website...
  • Barack Obama arrives at luxury Tuscan estate for holiday as Trump embarks on grueling foreign tour

Barack Obama arrived in Tuscany on Friday for a six-day holiday at a luxury Tuscan estate, but Italian authorities were taking no chances with security and imposed a ban on wild boar hunting lest the former President be accidentally shot. Mr Obama’s relaxed sojourn amid the Tuscan hills with his wife Michelle stood in stark contrast to the agenda of his scandal-plagued successor, Donald Trump, who embarked on a grueling international tour of Saudi Arabia, Israel, Italy and the Vatican.
