Despite clear facts arguing against global warming, alarmists and government representatives are still assembled at the climate summit in Qatar. Climate Facts Ignored Amid Hysteria at UN Summit in Doha The New American 03 December 2012 To coincide with the United Nations global warming summit in Doha, Qatar, the usual flurry of hysterical press releases repackaged as “news” and a barrage of dubious “studies” from tax-funded climate alarmists have made headlines in the establishment media — all of it, critics say, aimed at creating at least the perception of support for UN goals. Notably absent from the shrill warnings...

Islamofascism: To hear the president and his media stenographers, Egypt´s new leader is a "practical" guy who´s surprisingly Westernized. He loves our movies and even the "ERA." Such positive reviews provide Mohammed Morsi a fig leaf of secularism and legitimacy. But they cannot hide his dark Islamist heart. Time magazine does its best, however, in an "exclusive interview" with Morsi. It lets him filibuster, uninterrupted, about his alleged support for America´s once-proposed constitutional amendment guaranteeing equal rights for women, claiming that´s what his Muslim Brotherhood party stands for, too. Sharing more details from the interview on MSNBC,

Topeka — Supporters of carrying concealed guns in Kansas will reload when the 2013 legislative session starts in January. “We can trust the average Kansan to carry a deadly weapon,” said Rep. Forrest Knox, R-Altoona. “It is not the weapon that is evil; it is criminals that misuse weapons.” Knox was elected to the Kansas Senate in November and will take that position in January. During the last legislative session, Knox pushed a bill that would allow concealed-carry permit holders to take their weapons into public buildings, such as university classrooms, dorms, city halls and other such structures if those...
  • CNN Blames Culture of 'Manliness' For Belcher Murder/Suicide

On Saturday, a rich 25-year-old man, Jovan Belcher, murdered his 22-year-old girlfriend, the mother of his child. First, columnist Jason Whitlock of Fox Sports suggested that this “25-year-old kid” wasn’t responsible for his actions – it was the “gun culture” that was to blame. Then, Bob Costas of NBC repeats this idiotic notion, even though the 6’2”, 228 lb. linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs could easily have murdered his girlfriend with a knife. Now CNN is getting in on the act. Leading their website this afternoon is an op-ed from Kevin Powell, former Democratic Congressional candidate in New York,...

The top U.S. military appellate court on Monday ruled that the judge presiding over the case of an Army major charged with a 2009 massacre at Fort Hood, Texas is not impartial and ordered him removed. The court also set aside the order by the judge, Colonel Gregory Gross, that accused gunman Major Nidal Hasan be forcibly shaved. The action by the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces further delays the trial of Hasan, 42 (snip)

House Speaker John Boehner and GOP leadership have removed several conservative House members from their respective powerful committee positions, Breitbart News has learned. Effective next Congress, leadership pulled Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp, Michigan Republican Rep. Justin Amash and Arizona Republican Rep. David Schweikert off committees from which they could exert conservative pressure on fiscal matters. Amash and Huelskamp were pulled from the Budget Committee and Schweikert from the Financial Services Committee. Huelskamp, a freshman elected during the 2010 tea party wave, thinks the leadership move to pull him from the powerful committee is revenge for him standing up for...

China and India will hold talks on their disputed border December 3-4, when Indian National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon will meet outgoing Chinese State Councillor Dai Bingguo in Beijing. Menon explained that the two sides are in the “second stage” of the dispute settlement process, and are now “agreeing on a framework to settle the boundary.” The two countries have held 15 rounds of Special Representatives (SR) talks since 2003, although the December meeting in Beijing is not being billed as a formal round of SR talks. Those will have to wait until China replaces Dai Bingguo with a...

Taiwan’s Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology has completed a series of tests of its Hsiung Feng III (HF-3) ‘carrier killer’ anti-ship missile. The missile, first showcased at the Taipei Aerospace and Defense Technology Exhibition in August 2011, is a ramjet-powered, 120kg payload supersonic anti-ship missile with an estimated range of 130km to 150km and a maximum speed of Mach 2 – about twice the speed of sound. The Taipei Times reports that the HF-3 could be deployed on the west coast across from the mainland. That positioning would use mountains for cover against mainland missiles while bringing targets...

France’s industrial woes deepened last month as car sales crashed 19pc and French brands lost market share at an dramatic pace, raising fears of a serious economic crisis next year once austerity hits. Markit’s purchasing managers’ index (PMI) for French manufacturing remained stuck in slump in November at 44.5 and is now the weakest in the eurozone after Greece. "The figures are shocking," said sovereign debt strategist Nicholas Spiro. "France has been sailing dangerously close to the wind for some time but is now tipping into outright contraction." The Committee of French Automobile Producers said this has been the worst...

Using synthetic messenger RNA (mRNA) instead of proteins purified from viruses, German scientists have shown they can protect mice, ferrets, and pigs against influenza. "This is a very interesting new approach," says Hans-Dieter Klenk, a virologist at the University of Marburg in Germany who was not involved in the work. Now, most...

Thanks to the 62,615,406 individuals who took off their thinking caps and re-elected President Barack Obama, thousands upon thousands of folks are receiving their pink slips now or soon will over the next several weeks or months. These lost jobs are often high-paying and are disappearing by the hour. The culprit? It's none other than Obama's landmark legislation, The Affordable Care Act, aka ObamaCare. Re-electing Barack Obama guaranteed that the 2.3% medical device tax, a key funding source for ObamaCare, will go into effect on January 1, 2013. This transfer of money from these companies to the federal government, which...
