In wake of the release of a report comparing Palestinian Authority textbooks to Israeli textbooks in terms of incitement, Israel’s Strategic Affairs Ministry has released a simple PowerPoint presentation outlining PA incitement and giving examples. Among the more disturbing instances of incitement are incident in which teachers used their blogs or Facebook pages to spread hate. One PA school’s Facebook page includes an image of an Arab child being strangled by a snake marked with a Star of David. Another school’s Facebook page has an image of Adolf Hitler, complete with a quote stating that Hitler left some Jews alive...

In honor of President Reagan's 102nd birthday, a record number of governors declare "Ronald Reagan Day" in their states. Each year the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project asks governors from all 50 states to issue a proclamation declaring Feb. 6 "Ronald Reagan Day" in their respective states. Today, the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project proudly commends the 40 governors -- Republicans and Democrats alike -- who have chosen to honor President Reagan's 102nd birthday. "Ronald Reagan led America forward to defeat the threats to our prosperity of high taxes, inflation, and recession at home and a surging Soviet Empire abroad. He left...

Japan's deputy prime minister has retracted his suggestion that old people should "hurry up and die" rather than have their live-saving treatment funded by the taxpayer. Taro Aso, 72, was speaking at a meeting of the National Council on Social Security Reforms which was discussing the cost of prolonging elderly people's lives with expensive treatment funded by taxes. Referring to seriously ill patients as "tube people", Aso said he would feel bad knowing his life was draining the country's economy. Washington (CNN) -- As President Obama continues to push for new gun control measures, new FBI data shows that January was the second-highest month on record for gun background checks. FBI figures posted Tuesday show there were 2,495,400 background checks done through the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System, known as NICS. The number was more than 1 million higher than any previous January. Also in January, 8,980 of the background checks resulted in gun purchase denials. U.S. law requires background checks for all people who try to buy firearms from federally licensed dealers.

In January, the New York State Legislature passed the Orwellian-sounding "SAFE" (Secure Ammunition and Firearms Enforcement) Act. The act was debated in closed session without committee hearings, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed it into law within an hour of its passage -- after waiving the required three-day public comment period. Cuomo bragged that New York now has the "toughest assault weapons ban" in the country but claimed that the law respects the Second Amendment and preserves the rights of "hunters and sportsmen." The former is true; the latter is a bald-faced lie. Even if you do not live in New...

Or, in other words: Just give in already to the power of the all-knowing and all-powerful bureaucracy. Trust us.Last June, the Supreme Court ruled that ObamaCare’s Medicaid mandate (requiring that states expand their programs and provide specified health care to all citizens whose income falls below a certain threshold, or else face losing all prior federal funding) was an unconstitutional “gun to the head” for states’ administrations and budgets, and confirmed their right to opt out without penalty — but that doesn’t mean the Obama administration isn’t applying every type of political pressure and fiscal inducement they can to coerce...
  • Kasich embrace of Obamacare program angers some conservatives

By accepting the provision included in President Barack Obama's health care law expanding federal Medicaid funding, Ohio Gov. John Kasich joined four fellow Republican governors in welcoming part of a program their party has campaigned vehemently against. He also drew the ire of some Republican activists, who had viewed him as a model of small government conservatism and a potential candidate for the 2016 presidential nomination.

The killing of al-Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki generated a surprising amount of controversy. The US had used drones to kill scores of AQ leaders and followers in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Yemen before Awlaki and afterward. However, Awlaki was a US citizen, and the targeting of an American citizen by the government was considered a new step — and not necessarily a good one. The demand for a controlling procedure began to grow, amplified ironically by Barack Obama himself when the New York Times reported that he tried to rush rules into place for drone use in case Mitt Romney won...

President Obama discussed plans to visit Israel this spring during a recent phone call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the White House said Tuesday. (PHOTOS: Obama’s 24 international trips) Obama brought up the travel plans during a Jan. 28 call with Netanyahu, National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said. “The start of the president’s second term and the formation of a new Israeli government offer the opportunity to reaffirm the deep and enduring bonds between the United States and Israel and to discuss the way forward on a broad range of issues of mutual concern, including Iran and Syria," Vietor...

According to the state DOJ, that's nearly 40,000 handguns and assault weapons currently in circulation that shouldn't be. As Capitol Hill begins to debate a raft of anti-gun violence measures -- ranging from gun control bills to proposals to improve screening and the mental health system -- California officials are trying to take matters into their own hands. After Lindley testified at a hearing last week that his office lacks enough staff to confiscate weapons from felons and the mentally ill -- which are recorded in the state's Armed Prohibited Persons database -- lawmakers are fast-tracking a bill that would...

They’re at it again. The latest public rant against Michelle Obama’s effort to promote low-calorie school lunches was recently caught on tape in Alabama — the usual protest against the federal government meddling in local business. And then it quickly found its way around to the first lady’s posterior.

Beaurat Obama wants universal registration of all firearms in America. He says it’s “common sense” to register all firearms and the “majority” of firearms owners agree with him. He polls his people and tells us we think that way too. The man agglomerates numbers in biased and prejudiced surveys. He twists the findings into complementary terms showing just how perfect his intuition is when adducing the American public’s thinking. He almost never gets plastered for trying to pull the wool over the American people’s eyes. Not ever, since the mid-term elections in his first term, has he admitted the American...
