Another journalist fell prey to a fake story on a satirical website, and reported it as news. This time, a blogger for the Washington Post reported—wrongly—that Sarah Palin, the former Republican candidate for vice president who recently parted way with Fox News, had moved on to the Al-Jazeera network to reach millions of "devoutly religious people."

Be still, my heart. Dr Benjamin Carson is freeing up time and energy to pursue his passions in politics and education, retiring from surgery at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. Could world-renowned, up-from-the mean-streets of Detroit inspirational figure be the Man on a White Horse who could rescue America from the fiscal and social death spiral the progressives have foisted upon us? The Wall Street Journal said it first: "Ben Carson for President".

House Speaker John Boehner, in advance of President Obama's State of the Union address, said Tuesday that he doesn't think the president "has the guts" to seriously address the country's debt and deficit. The speaker aired his concerns during a breakfast outside his office on Capitol Hill with anchors and reporters covering Obama's address Tuesday night. He said he's pessimistic about the odds the president will tackle the country's long-term spending problem, which he sees as the biggest threat to America's future. "I don't think he has the guts to do it. He doesn't have the courage to take on...

Since taking office in 2009, food stamp rolls under President Barack Obama have risen to more than 47 million people in America, exceeding the population of Spain. “Now is the time to act boldly and wisely – to not only revive this economy, but to build a new foundation for lasting prosperity,” said Obama during his first joint session address to Congress on Feb. 24, 2009. Since then, the number of participants enrolled in food stamps, known as the Supplemental Assistance Nutrition Program (SNAP), has risen substantially. When Obama entered office in January 2009 there were 31,939,110 Americans receiving food...

As a nuclear North Korea proves once again that it’s improving its technology and moving close to marrying a small nuclear device with a more powerful rocket, the United States’ initial reaction Tuesday was a big ho-hum. Asked Tuesday morning whether she expects a strong condemnation from the United Nations, U.S. Ambassador Susan Rice said: “We’ll do the usual drill.” It was a surprising response to an international incident that was largely seen as a threat to the U.S. and one that prompted the U.N. Security Council to call an emergency meeting of world representatives.

Last week, Neil Stevens raised the alarm about Google selling out conservatives on policy issues. He’s right, but a number of conservatives and Republicans think there is an even bigger problem for GOP. Remember that enormous, sophisticated data operation the Obama campaign had? The one that gave them massive daily data on public opinion trends in almost every segment of potential voters. It’s almost as if Democrats had access to some sort of huge database of real time information about what the public was reading or writing online. The kind of breathtakingly large, real-time data that could be used for...

Senate Committee to Debate Hagel Nomination WASHINGTON, DC Tuesday, February 12, 2013 Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI), chair of the Senate Armed Services Cmte., plans to hold a vote on Defense Secretary nominee Chuck Hagel at today's hearing. Committee Republicans have expressed concerns over the former Nebraska senator's nomination. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he would put a hold Hagel unless the White House provides more information on the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. In addition, a group of Republican senators sent Chairman Levin a letter, demanding that Hagel turn over more information about his finances and funding...

February 12, 2013 Ballistic over Benghazi: Graham and Inhofe Take on the White House by Helle Dale Senators Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Jim Inhofe (R-OK) issued blunt warnings to the White House on Sunday: Give us real answers on Benghazi, or the nominations for Secretary of Defense and director of the Central Intelligence Agency will be on hold. Last week we noted that President Barack Obama has become America’s lawbreaker-in-Chief and few actions exemplify Obama’s propensity for ignoring the will of the people as expressed by the laws Congress passes than his recent executive orders and actions on same sex marriage and federal benefits for same sex couples. The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) blocks the federal government from extending spousal benefits to same sex couples. However, on Monday, outgoing Defense Secretary Leon Panetta expanded a list of benefits to the same sex spouses of service members as well as to the unmarried partners of homosexual service members....

ATLANTIC CITY – Somers Point attorney Seth Grossman formally announced his campaign for governor today, saying Gov. Chris Christie has been wrongly perceived as conservative. “He’s been running New Jersey like a Newark ward leader,” Grossman said. Grossman, who seeks the Republican nomination, said he wants to challenge the Republican establishment by running conservative candidates across the state. He announced his candidacy with about a half-dozen supporters at a barren lot off of Rhode Island Avenue, about a block from Revel casino. Grossman has opposed the tax incentives that allowed Revel to finish construction, and has said that city residents...

While we often post in response to Israel related news stories and commentary at the Guardian and ‘Comment is Free’ which are biased, misleading or inaccurate in some manner, often a Guardian ‘photo of the day’ can similarly serve as a vehicle for propaganda due to the emotive strength of the image, along with a paucity of relevant context. The following was included in the Feb. 11th edition of the Guardian’s ‘Best Photos of the Day’. Here’s the Guardian caption: Palestinian women hold pictures of prisoners jailed in Israel during a rally calling for their release in the West Bank...

Three years after the White House arranged a hero's welcome at the State of the Union address for the Fort Hood police sergeant and her partner who stopped the deadly shooting there, Kimberly Munley says President Obama broke the promise he made to her that the victims would be well taken care of. "Betrayed is a good word," former Sgt. Munley told ABC News in a tearful interview to be broadcast tonight on "World News with Diane Sawyer" and "Nightline." "Not to the least little bit have the victims been taken care of," she said. "In fact they've been neglected."...

Toby Barlow told CNN that his wife, Ann, a passenger on the ship, texted that the plumbing failed and people were defecating in bags and urinating in showers. She also told him there's "sewage running down the walls and floors," he said.
