Their official name is the Richmond County Tea Party Patriots -- and they arguably put Congressman Michael Grimm (R-NY) in office twice, first in 2010 when Tea Party supported this U.S. Marine veteran for the U.S. House, and again in 2012. Grimm won the 2010 general election for his district which covers both parts of New York City's Staten Island and Brooklyn with 51 percent of the vote. Ron Devito also created a video of the entire collection of speeches. It can be seen on YouTube.

VANCOUVER, February 25, 2013, (LifeSiteNews.com) - The British Columbia Parents and Teachers for Life (BCPTL) organization is warning parents that the BC Teachers’ Federation (BCTF) plans to use the "Day of Pink" on February 27 to indoctrinate school children with "a pro-homosexuality message." The BCPTL points out that under the heading Day of Pink on its website, the BC Teachers' Federation "pays lip service to preventing the bullying of all students," then goes on to give suggestions for school activities which "make crystal-clear what they think the objectives of the day ought to be." These activities include focusing on "gender...

EDITOR’S NOTE: The links in the following report may contain offensive language. Ravi Baichwal is not going to like this: Three-thousand people fought, looted, rioted, assaulted, cursed, threatened, hurled racial epithets and vandalized a Chicago neighborhood over the weekend. And all of them were black. Baichwal, a news anchor for the ABC affiliate in Chicago, says anyone who notices that is “an idiot.” Repeated examples of black mob violence in Chicago are “not riots,” Baichwal said. “It’s disaffected youth for sure,” and anyone who disagrees is “just race-baiting.” Baichwal was commenting on an epidemic of more than 450 cases of...

Today a Genoa-Kingston Middle School student’s parent is claiming that a teacher ordered his son to cover his US Marine themed t-shirt or be suspended. Dan McIntyre says that his son Michael has wore the shirt to school many times in the past and that he is a big fan of the branch of the US military. Dan McIntyre says that, “A teacher noticed the guns on the shirt.” He went on to say that the teacher said there was a school policy against the image of a gun. Michael complied when the teacher asked him to turn the shirt...

Beretta USA in Maryland is thinking of pulling up stakes and moving out of the state because of pending assault-weapons ban legislation. Beretta USA is a division of Beretta, the 500-year-old family owned company which won a contract in 1985 to become the standard sidearm of all U.S. servicemen, replacing the Colt 45. Gov. Martin O’Malley has offered a bill that would ban assault rifles and magazines with more than 10 bullets, meaning Beretta’s famous 9mm pistol, which has a 13 bullet magazine, would be banned. New sidearms that possessed “military features” would also be included, which means Beretta’s semiautomatic...

The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer, in a pair of blog posts, served up the latest attempted Democratic Party talking point on freshman Texas Senator Ted Cruz: that Senator Cruz is the second coming of Joe McCarthy. (ThinkProgress coordinates with a predictable illustration for those too simple-minded to get Mayer’s point). As it happens, I have some firsthand knowledge of the subject of Mayer’s vague, thinly-sourced hit job. She’ll have to do better next time, because Ted Cruz is right about Harvard Law School in the mid-1990s. If she’d talked to more people, she might have figured that out. Here’s the...

Martin's parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, are scheduled to take part in an event Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. in Union Square Park, along with their attorneys and others. A moment of silence is scheduled for 7:17 p.m. The 17-year-old unarmed black teenager was killed Feb. 26, 2012, in Sanford, Fla., by neighborhood watch leader George Zimmerman after the two got into a confrontation. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor upbraided a federal prosecutor Monday for asking racially-charged questions in court. The justices almost never elaborate on cases they decline to hear, but Sotomayor took the unusual step of issuing a statement condemning the prosecutor, whom she did not name. She said the prosecutor "tapped into a deep and sorry vein of racial prejudice that has run through the history of criminal justice in our nation." The prosecutor in the case invoked racial stereotypes in questioning the defendant's explanation. “You’ve got African Americans, you’ve got Hispanics, you’ve got a bag full of money. Does that...

A bipartisan group of former U.S. foreign policy officials, military leaders and lawmakers pushed on Monday for action on addressing climate change in poor nations, arguing it represents a major national security threat. **SNIP** Reagan administration Secretary of State George Shultz signed on, as did George W. Bush Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage and former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge. Sixteen former members of Congress also signed on, many of whom took leading roles on foreign affairs and defense committees. Those on the letter include former Sens. China's new frigate delivered to PLA Navy BEIJING, Feb. 26 (Xinhua) -- China's first Type 056 stealth frigate was delivered to the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) in Shanghai on Monday afternoon. The new generation of frigate, which is about to be put into service on a large scale, features good stealth performance and electromagnetic compatibility, according to a report released Tuesday by the official PLA Daily. The new frigate requires only one-third of the crew needed by its predecessor, the Type 053, and it is expected to be deployed primarily for escort missions and anti-submarine operations, said...

Boeing's upgraded F-15E Strike Eagle model at AFA Boeing had a very small presence at the Air Force Association's Air Warfare Symposium in Orlando. But the company did bring this model of an upgraded F-15E Strike Eagle to the show. Most immediately noticeable is that the aircraft has its two outer-wing weapons stations activated (which the F-15 always had, but aren't normally used)--something that'll be featured in Saudi Arabia's advanced F-15SA aircraft. A Boeing representative at the show said that the USAF's Strike Eagles would also eventually have those weapons stations activated. Other features noticeable on the model are the...

Richard Fernandez, who writes as Belmont Club at PJMedia, has a good entry on the current state of the Republican Party. He riffs on Angelo Codevilla’s fine recent essay As Country Club Republicans Link Up With The Democratic Ruling Class, Millions Of Voters Are Orphaned, and adds to it his thoughts on the recent Rove-Gingrich exchange.Richard notes that the Democrats “have been the party of income transfers for a long time. Their political genius has been to define the beneficiaries to include themselves and all their constituents.”Now the Republican establishment wants to be: [T]he party of ‘me too’. Or more...

People who suffer heart attacks are at increased risk of having a second and potentially fatal occurrence because of the damage the heart attack does to cardiac muscle tissue. Now scientists at the University of California San Diego have developed a new biomaterial - an injectable hydrogel  - that can repair the damage from heart attacks, and help promote the growth of new heart tissue.   Millions of people around the world suffer heart attacks every year and survive. These traumatic events occur when blood supply to the heart muscles is somehow blocked, robbing them of oxygen and causing them...

During President Barack Obama's meeting with U.S. governors at the White House Monday, the president dismissed members of the press to hold a private, hourlong discussion with the visiting state executives. Whatever was said after the cameras left the room especially incensed South Carolina Republican Gov. Nikki Haley... "I could not be more frustrated than I am right now," Haley told reporters after the meeting. She said that when she asked Obama if he would consider a last-minute plan to shave about 2 percent from the annual federal budget without increasing taxes, the answer was "no." "My kids could go...
