Washington, DC -- Another analysis from a nonpartisan group shows Barack Obama misrepresented his votes in the Illinois legislature against bills to provide medical care for newborns who survive failed abortions. The analysis says a pro-life group was right and that an Obama ad on the issue was misleading.

This may not seem like your mother's League of Women Voters. The 86-year-old league, so often regarded as the epitome of good-government wonkery, will wade into pointedly political territory during its four-day national convention, which begins today in Minneapolis. Immigration policy, the death penalty and a move to upend the Electoral College are on the convention agenda. And the featured speaker at the convention's banquet on Monday is Garrison Keillor, the homegrown humorist who has long and loudly been a defiantly partisan Democrat. "We're looking forward to what he has to say, but just because he's a Democrat, you can...

(PRWEB) October 26, 2004 -- An Undecided Voter Form is now available at the site of Scipolicy-The Journal of Science and Health Policy, http://scipolicy.net. It is presented as a public service and strictly non-partisan method of analyzing one's personal perspectives about the candidates for President of the United States. The election is on Tuesday, November 2, 2004. It is not a poll or a survey. It is a voter's personal inventory, analysis, and assessment of the candidates. The author is Stephen Miles Sacks, Ph.D. who is Editor and Publisher of Scipolicy Journal (http://scipolicy.net). "The form-analysis is an adaptation of the...

BOSTON - Howard Dean (news - web sites) isn't running for president anymore, but you'd never know it from the reception he got Sunday night. Speaking to a crowd of young voters at a party sponsored by Rock the Vote and Democratic Gain, Dean was welcomed like a rock star. He could barely get through the crowd. Once he reached the stage, with his shirt sleeves characteristically rolled up above the elbows, he was greeted with chants of "Dean, Dean, Dean" echoing back to his rallies this past winter, when the former Vermont governor was running for the Democratic nomination....

NAACP: Nonpartisan Branch of the Democratic Party By Andrew L. Jaffee, July 16, 2004 Home Search Forum Terms NAACP Chairman Julian Bond claims his organization is “nonpartisan” while at the same time using vitriolic rhetoric to attack the Bush administration. Why would President Bush wish to speak before the NAACP after the way in which they’ve treated him? Some claim Bush should swallow his pride and speak before the group in the interest of “outreach.” I would argue that Bush has already engaged in more outreach than any other administration in U.S. history: 2001: President George W. Bush appoints: Condoleezza Rice, Assistant...

Documentary film-maker Michael Moore won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival for Fahrenheit 911, not because the awards jury wanted to endorse his politics, but because it was "the best film at the festival" according to festival jurist Quentin Tarantino. Never mind that Moore immediately said he hoped his film "would affect the outcome of the 2004 election." We are still supposed to believe that the film was judged on its artistic merits, and nothing else. Add this to some other remarkable facts that we are supposed to believe about the "non-partisan" nature of other efforts to enlighten...

Petition in Support of a Non-Partisan, Solution-Oriented 9/11 Commission"If we open a quarrel between the past and the present, we shall find we have lost the future." My (generally liberal) brother sent the following to me and to others touting this site as an objective, nonpartisan resource for evaluating campaign commercials. My question is this: does anyone here know how "nonpartisan" these folks really are? -----original e-mail------- Hi- Got this from a friend, looks like a good site to get the straight scope on both sides of campaign adds: Campaigns already this ugly, you know it's only going to get worse. Regardless of your political leanings, I *highly* recommend looking at http://www.factcheck.org. This service is based out of the www.annenbergpublicpolicycenter.org University of Pennsylvania from the Annenberg Public...

udolph W. Giuliani is lending his clout to Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg's campaign to ban party primaries, appearing in a mailing that the mayor is sending out urging voters to support the ballot measure.Mr. Giuliani was Mr. Bloomberg's not-so-secret weapon during the 2001 mayoral campaign, and now, as the effort to abolish party primaries enters its final days, he is being rolled out once again to try to sway another tough election. It is hardly surprising that Mr. Giuliani favors nonpartisan elections: he called for the change as mayor, and two of his charter revision commissions studied the idea, but...
