MANCHESTER NY— Ontario County sheriff’s deputies said a passing motorist saw someone stealing a McCain for President sign from a yard on North Main Street in the village Sunday night, so the motorist called 911. Deputy Joe Murphy stopped a car — around 8:20 p.m. on Route 96 in Victor — that matched the description given by the caller. He reported finding numerous other signs for McCain and Republican congressional candidate John “Randy” Kuhl — along with some Cub Scout signs — inside in the car driven by Roger B. Wood, 35, of 101 Harper St., Apt. 2, Rochester. Wood...

I read a FR thread the other night that said IGNORE liberals (like hanging up on a prank phone caller). One problem...they don't care about being ignored by you and there's never going to be unanimous compliance with ignoring them. Liberals really believe they are intellectually superior and there is no contest about it. Far worse than a Latter Day Saint pushing the word door to door, liberals believe it is their mission to push the word of liberalism. Logic and dissection of their arguments is futile every time - they never say, "Good point"...never say, "I didn't think of...

Senator Obama threw a little kook bait in the water the other day to try and reel the nutroots back in. According to Breitbart, he blamed Vice President Cheney for our current energy crisis. Mr. Obama is far too smart to believe his own BS, but it sure does play well with the wackadoo wing of the Democratic party. Here's the money quote: "President Bush, he had an energy policy. He turned to Dick Cheney and he said, 'Cheney, go take care of this,'" Obama said. "Cheney met with renewable-energy folks once and oil and gas (executives) 40 times. McCain...

The New York Daily News perpetrated an interesting, yet subtly misleading headline about president Bush's Charleston, South Carolina speech on Al Qaeda in Iraq today in theirs titled "W still ties Iraq, 9/11." Following the left's playbook of claiming Bush has illicitly linked Saddam's Iraq to 9/11 their headline made it seem as if Bush, indeed, "still ties" 9/11 to Iraq. It is, of course, a false claim that Bush linked Iraq to 9/11 either then OR now, but the New York Daily News doesn't seem too interested in the truth. And for the headline to say "still ties" they...

ONLY one week after Live Earth, Al Gore's green credentials slipped while hosting his daughter's wedding in Beverly Hills. Gore and his guests at the weekend ceremony dined on Chilean sea bass - arguably one of the world's most threatened fish species. Also known as Patagonian toothfish, the species is under pressure from illegal, unregulated and unreported fishing activities in the Southern Ocean, jeopardising the sustainability of remaining stocks. The species is currently managed by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Living Marine Resources, the body which introduced a catch and trade documentation scheme as an attempt to...

Up to two million tires are at the bottom of the ocean floor off the coast of Florida. They damage reefs, wash up on the beach and create a hazard for beachgoers. How did they get there? Don’t ask ABC News. With the power of government and the green movement of the 1970s, the process was set into motion to build artificial reefs from used tires. All ABC could say was that “someone” had gotten the idea going.

He didn't realize that another friend he sent it to is a democrat, and his wife is a big liberal! The dem fired back a list (below) of Republican wrongdoers. Proving that local owners are under the same pressure that big newspaper chains face, one of the new owners of The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News told employees this morning the papers are set to report one of the worst declines in ad revenue in its history. Brian Tierney, publisher of both papers, issued a memo to employees outlining the tough environment facing newspapers after meeting with several union representatives yesterday. The guild and management are currently negotiating new contracts. In the memo, Tierney explained that advertising revenue for July and August was down compared to the same months last...

Did I execute whole villages of people and bulldoze their bodies into a pit? What are you saying? Explain this to me.' [snip]

The notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Baghdad is at the centre of fresh abuse allegations just a week after it was handed over to Iraqi authorities, with claims that inmates are being tortured by their new captors. Inside the 100-yard long cell block the smell of excrement was overpowering. Four to six prisoners shared each of the 12ft by 15ft cells along either side and the walls were smeared with filth. The cell block was patrolled by guards who carried long batons and shouted angrily at the prisoners to stand up. Access to the part of the prison containing terrorism...

Nationally syndicated radio host Neal Boortz stated on his show today that Randi Rhodes might find herself in court if she continues to tell lies on the air during her radio program. Since the two appeared on the Larry King Live show a few weeks ago, Rhodes has been obsessed with Boortz after he made her look foolish on national television. At one point Rhodes claimed Boortz made a statement about Muslims that Boortz said he never made. Boortz then issued a challenge to Rhodes with a $5,000 bet. Rhodes accepted the challenge and then told Larry King and the...

It seems that the Lebanese army is starting to inspect and neutralize all of the unexploded artillery and other ordinance that Shamnesty is so worried about. This photograph is rather odd, though. It's extremely grainy, due to high levels of jpeg compression, but it purports to be two members of the Lebanese Army inspecting an unexploded missile. What's odd is that the object they're studying doesn't readily appear to be a missile to me—Could it be an external fuel tank? Some other piece of artillery? Humpback whale? Beats me. As usual, if you have exceptional eyesight and vast stores of...

OK, now things are getting weird. This Reuters photograph shows blatant evidence of manipulation. Notice the repeating patterns in the smoke; this is almost certainly caused by using the Photoshop “clone” tool to add more smoke to the image. (Hat tip: Mike.) It’s so incredibly obvious, it reminds me of the faked CBS memos. Smoke simply does not contain repeating symmetrical patterns like this, and you can see the repetition in both plumes of smoke. There’s really no question about it. Smoke billows from burning buildings destroyed during an overnight Israeli air raid on Beirut’s suburbs August 5, 2006. Many...

President Bush, Laura Bush, and others close to the president, such as Karl Rove, have raised $189 million so far for the November elections, according to Republican sources. That figure is more than twice the amount the Bush team raised for congressional races during the entire 2002 election cycle. The funds were raised at 136 events, including 44 attended by Bush himself. The money went to the Republican National Committee, congressional campaign committees, and individual Republican candidates. Overall, Republicans continue to hold a strong lead over Democrats in fund raising. According to Federal Election Commission reports for June, the RNC...

Behold this breathtaking "news" from the DNC's Associated Press: Poll: Americans want Democrats in powerBy DONNA CASSATA, Associated Press Writer Fri Jul 14WASHINGTON - Republicans are in jeopardy of losing their grip on Congress in November. New York -- Like chanting Buddhist monks, the president’s critics repeat 100 times daily: “Bush Lied -- People Died.” The “lie,” of course, is that Saddam Hussein possessed Weapons of Mass Death. “There were none,” Senator Jack Reed (D.-R. I.) told his colleagues June 21. “They were not there.” Absent such munitions, the argument goes, U.S. involvement in Iraq is nothing but a blood-soaked misadventure unfolding on a collapsed façade of falsehoods. Nevertheless, while the liberal press gently sleeps, evidence continues to mount that Hussein had WMDs, though perhaps not in quantities that would bulge warehouses. “Since 2003 Coalition forces...

Iraqi Documents: UNMOVIC Knew Of Renewed WMD Efforts Continuing my review of the many documents released from the DocEx files over the last two days, I found yet another interesting piece of information regarding Saddam Hussein's pursuit of WMD. In a summary of a larger document, the translators found that Iraq had restarted its processing of castor-bean extraction, from which ricin can be developed -- and that UNMOVIC discovered it in December 2002. From CMPC-2003-003766-HT.pdf, with line breaks and emphases mine: Ricin toxin is found in the bean of the castor plant. UNMOVIC inspections since December 2002 have verified that...

Each year about this time, some parents write in to ask for suggestions of things for their children to read during the summer, in order to counteract the steady diet of liberal-left indoctrination they have been getting in schools and colleges. This year there is a new book that is almost tailor-made for that purpose. Its title is "Conservative Comebacks to Liberal Lies" by Gregory Jackson. In it, all sorts of political and media spin are shot to pieces by hard facts. If you think that the Constitution of the United States provides for "separation of church and state," that...

Top editors from the Los Angeles Times and The New York Times, responding to criticism over publishing stories about a government program that tracked millions of financial records in search of terrorists, on Saturday defended their decisions to publish government secrets. "There is no magic formula, no neat metric for either the public's interest or the dangers of publishing sensitive information," the piece continued. "We...

U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon presided over a House Armed Services Committee hearing Thursday in which the commander of the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) acknowledged that the degraded chemical munitions revealed in last week’s report constitute weapons of mass destruction. While the usefulness of the approximately 500 pre-Gulf War munitions is disputed by weapons experts, Weldon said in his opening statement their discovery over the past three years justifies the March 2003 invasion to topple Saddam Hussein’s Baathist regime. "I want to be absolutely clear about what we are talking about here. These 500 chemical munitions are weapons of mass...

By now much of the nation has finally heard the truth: George Bush never lied about weapons of mass destruction. At least 50,000 Iraqis have died violently since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, according to statistics from the Baghdad morgue, the Iraqi Health Ministry and other agencies — a toll 20,000 higher than previously acknowledged by the Bush administration. Many more Iraqis are believed to have been killed but not counted because of serious lapses in recording deaths in the chaotic first year after the invasion, when there was no functioning Iraqi government, and continued spotty reporting nationwide since. The toll, which is mostly of civilians but probably also includes some security forces and insurgents, is daunting: Proportionately, it is equivalent...

June 23, 2006: The revelation that Coalition forces have discovered about 500 shells containing chemical weapons (mostly sarin nerve gas and mustard gas) since 2003, most of which are pre-1991 Gulf War vintage, leads to the question as to why the U.S. waited so long to reveal this. The U.S. government has taken a beating for supposed failures to find weapons of mass destruction in the press, and from political opponents. There have been some discoveries that have made the news, most notably an incident in May, 2004, when terrorists used a 155-millimeter shell loaded with sarin in an IED....
